De De Pyaar De 2, starring Ajay Devgn, R. Madhavan and Rakul Preet Singh, was released in theatres on November 14. The film is now close to completing its eight-week theatrical window, a prerequisite for its OTT release. With this milestone approaching, the makers are gearing up for the film’s digital premiere.
When and where to watch De De Pyaar De 2?
Directed by Anshul Sharma, the film is reportedly set to begin streaming digitally from January 9, 2026. De De Pyaar De 2 is expected to premiere on Netflix, where the first instalment is also currently available. However, there has been no official confirmation yet. Going by the standard eight-week theatrical window, the Ajay Devgn-starrer is likely to arrive on the platform on January 9.
What is De De Pyaar De 2 about?
Unlike many franchise films, De De Pyaar De 2 carries the story forward from the first part. Ajay Devgn and Rakul Preet Singh reprise their roles as Ashish and Ayesha. After Ashish’s former wife and children come to terms with their relationship, the spotlight now shifts to Ayesha’s parents meeting her boyfriend. Given the significant age gap between the couple, something that is often frowned upon. Ayesha’s parents, played by R. Madhavan and Gautami Kapoor, are understandably sceptical about the relationship. What follows is an endlessly entertaining ‘pyaar vs parivaar’ clash between two powerhouse performers, Ajay Devgn and R. Madhavan.
Meanwhile, Meezaan Jafri makes a wildcard entry into the franchise, adding a fresh twist to the narrative. Jaaved Jaaferi is also seen as Ashish’s best friend, bringing his trademark mix of sass and savage humour to the film.
Meezaan Jaaferi plays the role of Rakul Preet Singh`s childhood friend. In the film, he not only shakes a leg with his father, Javed Jaaferi, in the song 3 Shaukk but also recreates Ajay Devgn`s iconic pose of balancing on two motorcycles from the film Phool aur Kaante.
Speaking about his experience on set, he said, “I was the youngest on set, and they all came to my support. Even when I was doing the split on that car, Ajay Sir came and helped me with my harness.”
Blending humour, emotion and nostalgia, De De Pyaar De 2 promises a highly entertaining and relatable watch. Alongside the lead cast, the film also stars Ishita Dutta and Tarun Gehlot.
