No awards, no problem
Filmmaker Rohit Shetty, whose mass entertainers have consistently dominated the box office, remains largely absent from the awards circuit, a fact he addressed with humour at the launch of the Indian National Cine Academy (INCA) in Mumbai recently. Taking a self-aware dig, the director said, “I have absolutely no relationship with awards. I have directed 17 films, and I’m only invited to award shows to host them.” On the work front, Rohit is directing Former Police Commissioner of Mumbai, Rakesh Maria’s biopic with John Abraham. He also has Golmaal 5 with Ajay Devgn.
