Days after television actors Jay Bhanushali and Mahhi Vij announced their amicable divorce, rumours began doing the rounds romantically linking the actress to Nadeem Nadz. The controversy soon erupted with many trolls criticising her. Now, both Mahhi as well as her ex-husband Jay have reacted to the rumours. Earlier, Mahhi’s close friend, actress Ankita Lokhande, had spoken up to defend the actress and appealed for restraint on social media.
Jay Bhanushali defends Mahhi amid dating rumours
The rumours began doing the rounds after Mahhi shared a birthday post for Nadeem on Instagram. In her heartfelt post, she referred to him as her “best friend,” which caught the attention of netizens. The speculation further escalated when she disabled the comment section on the post. This led many to speculate a possible romantic relationship.
Soon, Ankita stepped in to defend her friend via a long note on her Instagram Stories on Sunday. Although Jay Bhanushali did not directly address the rumours, he expressed his support to Ankita`s words.
Resharing Ankita’s post, Jay wrote, “Thank you Ankita and I agree to everything you said.”
In her post, Ankita wrote, “Today, I want to say something—not as a celebrity, but as a friend. I’ve been really disturbed by the way people are commenting on Mahi and Nadeem’s relationship.”
She further shared, “I know Mahi, I know Nadeem and I know Jai very well. And I need to say this clearly, Nadeem has always been a father figure to Mahi and Jal, and a father to Tara. That`s it. Nothing else. Some bonds are built on respect, love, and years of trust, and outsiders don`t get the right to judge them. As a friend, I can say this: Nadeem is someone who has stood by people, including me, in difficult times. My respect for him is huge”
Ankita added, “Mahi and Jay, you`re doing an amazing job as parents. God bless you. And to those spreading negativity, please stop. Let people live their lives. Karma is watching.”
“Mahi, I love you. Jay, I love you. And Nadeem, you`re truly one of the best. You are a god sent person for many of us,” she concluded.
Mahhi reacts to dating rumours
Mahhi Vij also took to social media to share a video and hit back at those who linked her with Nadim Nadz. The actress started the video by pointing out that many people had advised her not to address the situation, but she felt compelled to speak up. She said, “Jo log humare baare mein jaante hain, unhe yeh sab ridiculous lag raha hai. Just because humne bina koi controversy ke divorce liya hai, aap logon ko hazam nahi ho raha. Aapko gandagi chahiye.”
She further said, “Nadim mera best friend hai aur hamesha mera best friend hi rahega. Aapne ‘Abba’ shabd ko ganda kar diya hai. Shame on you… thu on you people for writing such shitty stuff about me and Nadim. It’s not just about me, itne saare log hain jo usse respect karte hain. Aap itne level tak gandagi mein jaa sakte ho.”
