
In the WPL 2026 match against Gujarat Giants, Mumbai Indians emerged victorious by seven wickets at the Dr DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai.
Having needed to chase a target of 193 runs, the “Paltan” scored 193 runs for the loss of three wickets in 19.2 overs.
Mumbai`s opening batswoman Gunalan Kamalini scored 13 runs in 12 balls, including two boundaries. Fellow opening batswoman Hayley Matthews smashed 22 runs off 12 balls, with the help of three boundaries and a maximum.
Amanjot Kaur accumulated 40 runs off 26 deliveries, which was laced with seven boundaries. Skipper Harmanpreet Kaur and Nicola Carey stayed unbeaten at the crease. Facing 43 balls, Harmanpreet garnered 71 runs, including seven boundaries and two maximums, whereas Carey smashed 38 runs after facing 23 balls. Her knock also included six boundaries.
Renuka Singh, Kashvee Gautam and Sophie Devine managed to pick up one wicket each. Having completed four overs each, Renuka was smashed for 39 runs, and Kashvee conceded 33 runs. Devine gave away 29 runs in her spell of 3.2 overs.
Rajeshwari Gayakwad, Georgia Wareham, Tanuja Kanwar, and skipper Ashleigh Gardner went wicketless in the WPL 2026 match against Mumbai Indians.
Earlier, having put to bat first, Gujarat Giants` wicketkeeper and opening batswoman Beth Mooney scored 33 runs in 26 balls, with the help of three boundaries and a maximum.
Kanika Ahuja accumulated 35 runs off just 18 deliveries, with the help of four boundaries and two maximums. Skipper Ashleigh Gardner registered 20 runs in 11 balls, including four boundaries.
Later, Georgia Wareham and Bharti Fulmali delivered crucial knocks. Facing 33 balls, Wareham scored an unbeaten 43 runs, which was laced with four boundaries and a maximum. On the other hand, Fulmali registered an unbeaten 36 runs in just 15 deliveries, including three boundaries and the same number of maximums. Riding on their knocks, Gujarat posted a total of 192 runs for the loss of five wickets in 20 overs.
Mumbai Indians` Shabnim Ismail, Hayley Matthews, Nicola Carey, and Amelia Kerr picked up one wicket each. Amanjor Kaur and Sanskriti Gupta went wicketless in the WPL 2026 match against Gujarat Giants.
