In the second ODI match against Team India, New Zealand emerged victorious by seven wickets at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot.

Having needed to chase a target of 285 runs, New Zealand posted 286 runs for the loss of three wickets in 47.3 overs.

Opening the innings for the “Black Caps”, Devon Conway faced 21 balls and scored 16 runs, with the help of three boundaries. Fellow opening batsman Henry Nicholls scored 10 runs in 24 balls.

Later, Will Young delivered a knock of 87 runs in 98 balls, including seven boundaries. Daryl Mitchell and Glenn Phillips stayed unbeaten at the crease. Facing 117 balls, Mitchell smashed 131 runs, with the help of 11 boundaries and two maximums. Phillips registered 32 runs off 25 deliveries, which was laced with two boundaries and a maximum.

Harshit Rana, Prasidh Krishna, and Kuldeep Yadav managed to pick up one wicket each. Mohammed Siraj, Nitish Kumar Reddy, and Ravindra Jadeja went wicketless in the second ODI match against New Zealand.

Earlier, having put to bat first, Team India`s opening batsman Rohit Sharma scored 24 runs in 38 balls, with the help of four boundaries. Skipper Shubman Gill garnered 56 runs off 53 deliveries, which were laced with nine boundaries and a maximum.

Virat Kohli returned to the pavilion after scoring 23 runs in 29 balls. His knock also included two boundaries. On the other end, Shreyas Iyer departed early after registering eight runs in 17 balls.

Ravindra Jadeja accumulated 27 runs in 44 balls, with the help of a boundary. Nitish Kumar Reddy, who came in as a replacement for Washington Sundar, managed to score 20 runs off 21 balls, with the help of a maximum. Despite losing wickets at regular intervals, KL Rahul showcased immense skills. Facing 92 deliveries, he smashed an unbeaten 112 runs, including 11 boundaries and a maximum. The “Men in Blue” posted a target of 285 runs for the loss of seven wickets in 50 overs.

Kris Clarke was the most successful bowler for the “Black Caps”. Having bowled eight overs, he managed to pick up three wickets by conceding 56 runs. Kyle Jamieson, Zakary Foulkes, Jayden Lennox, and skipper Michael Bracewell also registered one wicket each to their names.
