Glenn Phillips says New Zealand are resisting the temptation to lean on emotion or past achievements as they chase a rare white-ball series win in India. Speaking on the eve of the decider at Holkar Stadium, Phillips called the chance to create history “pretty cool” but stressed that process and adaptability would matter far more than occasion.
New Zealand famously sealed a historic Test series sweep in India last year, but Phillips warned against drawing comparisons across formats, calling white-ball cricket in India a “completely different challenge”. With dew likely to influence conditions later in the evening and Indore known for high scores and short boundaries, Phillips said execution — not anticipation — would define the outcome.
