Brooklyn Beckham has released a detailed statement accusing his famous parents, David and Victoria Beckham, of controlling behaviour, emotional manipulation and repeatedly disrespecting his wife, Nicola Peltz. He alleged that his family prioritised public image and brand value over genuine relationships, claiming that family support was often conditional on social media appearances and public promotion.
Brooklyn breaks his silence
In a six-page statement shared on social media, Brooklyn said he decided to speak out after years of remaining silent, alleging that negative stories were repeatedly leaked to the press. “My parents and their team have continued to go to the press, leaving me with no choice but to speak for myself,” he said.
Concluding his statement, Brooklyn made it clear he does not intend to reconcile. “I do not want to reconcile with my family. I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life.”
Brooklyn claims his mother attempted to ruin his relationship with his wife
Brooklyn claimed his wife was “consistently disrespected” and there were attempts to ruin his wedding. “My mum cancelled making Nicola’s dress in the eleventh hour despite how excited she was to wear her design, forcing her to urgently find a new dress,” he recalled adding that the attempts still continue.
He further alleged that his parents attempted to pressure him into signing away rights to his name ahead of his wedding. “Weeks before our big day, my parents repeatedly pressured and attempted to bribe me into signing away the rights to my name, which would have affected me, my wife, and our future children. They were adamant on me signing before my wedding date because then the terms of the deal would be initiated. My holdout affected the payday, and they have never treated me the same since.”
Brooklyn also made serious allegations about interference during his wedding, describing an incident that left him “uncomfortable and humiliated.” He claimed his mother interrupted his planned first dance with Nicola, saying, “My mum hijacked my first dance with my wife… She danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone.”
“My wife has been consistently disrespected by my family, no matter how hard we’ve tried to come together as one,” he wrote.
Brand Beckham over family love
Brooklyn alleged that his family often prioritised public image and brand value over personal relationships. “My family values public promotion and endorsements above all else. Brand Beckham comes first,” he stated, adding that family affection was “decided by how much you post on social media, or how quickly you drop everything to show up and pose for a family photo opp.”
He also said that his family attacked him when he decided to stand up for himself. “Since the moment I started standing up for myself with my family, I’ve received endless attacks from my parents, both privately and publicly, that were sent to the press on their orders. Even my brothers were sent to attack me on social media, before they ultimately blocked me out of nowhere this last summer.”
Detailing strained personal interactions, Brooklyn claimed his parents rejected multiple attempts to spend time together privately, including during a visit to London for his father’s birthday. “He refused all of our attempts, unless it was at his big birthday party with a hundred guests and cameras at every corner,” he said, adding that his wife was later excluded from a meeting with his father.
Addressing claims that Nicola controls him, Brooklyn pushed back strongly, saying the narrative was “completely backwards.” “I have been controlled by my parents for most of my life,” he wrote, adding that stepping away from his family helped his mental health. “For the first time in my life… that anxiety has disappeared.”
