Musician Palaash Muchhal has resumed work after a tumultuous couple of months. His personal life became the centre of attention following his cancelled wedding with cricketer Smriti Mandhana. Palaash and Smriti were set to tie the knot in November, and the pre-wedding festivities were also conducted. However, hours before the ceremony, the couple called it off. In December, the two issued statements revealing that they had decided to cancel the wedding for good and requested privacy in the matter.
Palaash Muchhal resumes work
While Smriti Mandhana returned to the cricket field shortly after the wedding was called off, Palaash Muchhal is now ready to begin work on his next directorial venture. Actor Shreyas Talpade will be seen playing the lead in the film. Announcing the same, trade analyst Taran Adarsh said, “SHREYAS TALPADE TO STAR IN PALASH MUCHHAL`S NEXT FILM… #ShreyasTalpade will head the cast of director #PalashMuchhal’s upcoming, as-yet-untitled film, stepping into the role of a common man. Set against the backdrop of #Mumbai, filming is expected to commence soon.”
This film will mark Palash Muchhal’s third project as a director. In the past, Muchhal has directed music videos starring actors like Natasa Stankovic and Rashami Desai. In 2022, he wrote and directed his first film titled Ardh, which featured Rajpal Yadav and Rubina Dilaik. In 2024, Palash reunited with Rajpal Yadav for Kaam Chalu Hai, a film based on the real-life story of Manoj Patil.
Palaash Muchhal on cancelling wedding
Announcing the cancellation of the wedding and addressing the rumours surrounding it, Palaash had earlier released a statement in December. He wrote, “I have decided to move on in my life and step back from my personal relationship. It’s been very difficult for me to see people react so easily to baseless rumours about something which has been most sacred to me. It’s the most difficult phase of my life, and I will deal with it gracefully, holding on to my beliefs. I truly hope we, as a society, learn to pause before judging someone based on unverified gossip, whose sources are never identified. Our words can wound in ways we may never understand.”
“While we think about these things, many people in the world are facing drastic consequences. My team will be taking strict legal action against those spreading false and defamatory content. Thank you to everyone who has stood by me with kindness in this tough time,” he added.
