Arijit Singh’s best moment on cricket field. Ft. Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni

Arijit Singh, known as the ‘romantic king of Bollywood’ and widely regarded as one of the most beloved playback singers of the modern era, announced his retirement from film playback singing with an emotional post on Tuesday. Amid this development, several old social media posts by India’s star cricketer Virat Kohli have resurfaced and are going viral.

One such post dates back to 2016, when Kohli wrote, “I am probably one of the biggest fans of Arijit Singh. Mesmerised by his talent and soulful voice. I am short of words actually.”

Kohli reiterated his admiration in another post in 2017, calling it a “pure fanboy moment” and adding that no one had ever moved him with their voice the way Arijit had.

Arijit’s admiration for Kohli was also evident during the 2023 ODI World Cup in India. While performing at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad ahead of the India vs Pakistan match on October 14, Arijit spotted Kohli warming up and, overcome with emotion, shouted mid-song, “I love you, Virat,” during the pre-match ceremony.

ARIJIT SINGH’S MS DHONI MOMENT

Arijit has also openly expressed his admiration for former India captain and Chennai Super Kings legend MS Dhoni. During the IPL 2023 opening ceremony, he enthralled the crowd with chart-toppers such as Kesariya and Tum Hi Ho.

A particularly emotional moment followed during the trophy unveiling, when Arijit touched Dhoni’s feet as a mark of respect, prompting the former captain to lift him up and embrace him—a gesture that quickly went viral on social media.

WHAT IS ARIJIT’S FINAL PLAYBACK SONG?

Currently considered the most popular playback singer in India, Arijit’s decision to step away from film music has left fans deeply disappointed and raised questions about what lies ahead for the singer. Many are eager to know how he plans to shape the next phase of his career.

Salman Khan’s film Battle of Galwan features what is now Arijit Singh’s final playback song, titled Matribhoomi. Details about his future projects have not yet been made public. Meanwhile, Virat Kohli’s past posts praising Arijit Singh have once again come into the spotlight and are being widely shared on social media.

It is important to note that Arijit Singh has only stepped away from film playback singing and has not quit music altogether. He will continue to perform live concerts and create original music, much to the relief of his fans.
