Rohit Shetty residence firing case: Lawrence Bishnoi gang claims responsibility, warns 'next bullets will hit his chest'

New Delhi: After reports of firing outside Rohit Shetty’s Juhu residence surfaced, gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang has claimed responsibility for the incident.

A post circulating on social media, allegedly from accounts linked to Shubham Lonkar and Aarzoo Bishnoi, took responsibility for the firing and issued a direct threat to the filmmaker and the film industry.

The post, written in Hindi, translates to a warning stating that the group had earlier asked Rohit Shetty not to interfere in their activities. It further claimed that the firing was meant as a “trailer” and threatened more serious consequences if their warning was ignored.

The message also issued a warning to the Bollywood industry, saying those who do not comply would face severe consequences. It ended by asserting that the Lawrence Bishnoi group alone would take responsibility for such actions.

A post has been surfacing on social media from accounts allegedly linked to Shubham Lonkar and Aarzoo Bishnoi, though authorities have not officially verified its authenticity.

Rohit Shetty Residence Firing Case

Four rounds of gunshots were reportedly fired outside Bollywood filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s residence late on the night of January 31. According to an NDTV report, the incident took place between 12:40 am and 1:00 am.

The Juhu area has been secured with heavy security deployment, while investigators and forensic teams are conducting a detailed examination of the spot to identify those responsible.

A team of forensic experts has already collected bullets and other evidence from the site.

There were no reports of injuries in the incident. Officials confirmed that Rohit Shetty was at home at the time of the firing.

An investigation is underway, and all possible angles are being explored to identify the suspects, officials said.

Speaking to ANI, DCP Sambhaji Kadam revealed that the suspects hailed from different locations across Pune.

“We received information about the suspects from the Mumbai Police team, after which we formed different teams and arrested the five individuals today. They have been handed over to the Mumbai Police team, who are currently interrogating them. More information about the incident will emerge after a detailed investigation,” he said.

Soon after the incident was reported, senior officers of the Mumbai Police along with teams from the Mumbai Crime Branch reached the scene. For security reasons, the entire area has been cordoned off.

Several visuals from the site have surfaced on social media.

A case has been registered against unidentified assailants under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Arms Act.

A similar incident had taken place outside Bollywood actor Salman Khan’s Bandra residence in 2024, when two bike-borne assailants fired four rounds before fleeing the spot. Later, Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang claimed responsibility for the firing in a Facebook post.
