For years, audiences have loved Shraddha Musale as the sharp and composed Dr. Tarika in CID. But now, the actress has stepped into a new role, that of an author. In an exclusive chat with midday, Shraddha opened up about her intriguing transition, her corporate-themed debut book, revisiting CID, and balancing life between both career paths.
Turning author may seem like a surprising shift for someone known primarily for acting, but for Shraddha, it felt like a natural progression. “Yes, it was definitely an intriguing transition. But what really helped was experience. For the past five years, I have been running my edtech venture focused on career skills. This is the work I have been deeply involved in every single day. So putting it into words wasn’t difficult – it was more about discipline and consistency. The content was lived, not imagined.”
Why Corporate?
Interestingly, Shraddha chose to write in the corporate genre, a choice that may surprise fans who associate her with television drama. “My first venture was born from my own struggles. When I came to Mumbai and entered the industry, I didn’t have the exposure or self-esteem that was needed. That makes the journey tougher. I saw many others going through the same thing. That’s how my career-skills venture began. In corporates too, technical knowledge alone isn’t enough, soft skills play a huge part in shaping your growth. The book reflects that belief.”
Revisiting Dr. Tarika in CID Season 2
Fans were thrilled to see Shraddha reprise her role as Dr. Tarika in Season 2 of CID. For her, returning to the show carried a sense of nostalgia and growth. “Season 2 felt special. I was happy with how Dr. Tarika evolved, more senior, more mature, and in a position to take bigger decisions. That growth felt natural to me. Since I divide my time between Dubai and Mumbai, I wasn’t part of the entire season, but I was there for a few months on and off. Every time I returned to the set, it felt like coming home.” Her character’s evolution mirrored her own professional growth, stronger, more confident, and more decisive.
