India crushed New Zealand by 96 runs in the high-stakes final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, scripting history by becoming the first team to successfully defend the men’s T20 World Cup title. As the country erupted in pride, Bollywood’s stars joined the party online with Shah Rukh Khan, Vicky Kaushal and Akshay Kumar leading the applause.

Soon after the victory, several celebrities took to social media to express their excitement and joy, cheering for Team India and congratulating the players on the big win.
Superstar Shah Rukh Khan took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to write, “What a comprehensive victory!! Well done to our men in blue!!! You guys are champions and watching you on the field has made us all very proud. Take a bow. Jai Hind!”.

India defeated New Zealand by 96 runs at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday to become the first side in history to successfully defend the T20 World Cup, win the title on home soil, and claim a third crown after their triumphs in 2007 and 2024. India’s former T20 World Cup-winning captains MS Dhoni (2007) and Rohit Sharma (2024) were also in attendance at the stadium.
Suryakumar‘s India bossed the T20 World Cup 2026 final against New Zealand, winning the contest by 96 runs. India first hammered 255 runs on the board, owing to half-centuries by Abhishek Sharma, Ishan Kishan and Sanju Samson. Jasprit Bumrah then took four wickets, bundling out New Zealand for 159. Axar Patel also chipped in with three wickets. For this performance, Bumrah was named the Player of the Match while the Player of the Tournament accolade went to Sanju Samson for his haul of 321 runs in five matches.
