Actress Tisca Chopra mourns the loss of her mother, Pammi Arora, who passed away on March 7. The ‘Taare Zamee n Par’ actress took to her social media handle, penning a touching tribute. Chopra remembered her mother as a source of warmth and happiness, someone who touched the lives of all who knew her. Tisca’s message was filled with emotion as she reflected on her mother’s guiding principle: “Mitti Pao,” a call to release troubles and keep going.Chopra described her mother as someone who always chose kindness and humour over worry, adding that people who met her instantly loved her because of her light-hearted nature and comforting presence.

Remembering her mother’s influence on her life, Tisca shared that Pammi Arora taught her some of the most valuable lessons she carries even today. One such lesson was to always keep trying despite rejection. “You already have a ‘no’ in your pocket. Now go out and get a ‘yes’,” she wrote, recalling her mother’s encouraging words. Tisca paid homage to her mother as the source of her artistic ‘great-great-great-great-grandmother.’ As the actress herself puts it, “My mom propagated the gene of creativity and expression to me.”

Pammi Arora was a much-loved teacher and often referred to as Arora Ma’am. Tisca said, “Generations of children had been taught by her, children who were now parents of another generation, coming to her to be taught by her.” She was something very rare, which she earned by her heart. With cancer and a fracture of her hip, Pammi Arora was a phenomenal woman. Tisca said, “Even then when she was in the ICU, she was my mother, smiling my mother, who would respond to music.”
