Anchored by Emma Thompson in a chilling, emotionally charged performance, the film follows Barb, a widow who travels to northern Minnesota to scatter her late husband’s ashes. But when a savage blizzard strands her far from civilisation, her trip takes a dangerous turn as she interrupts the kidnapping of a teenage girl and soon realises she may be the girl’s only hope for survival.
As Barb becomes entangled with a couple guarding a desperate secret and a captive woman whose fate becomes tied to her own, survival turns into a game of trust and instinct. “It takes us on an incredible journey into the bleak isolation of northern Minnesota, where Barb Sorenson, the recently widowed owner of a small fishing tackle store, risks everything to save a stranger.
