IPL 2026: Ashutosh Sharma speaks about his role for Delhi Capitals

The upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is all set to kick off from March 28. So far, the schedule of only first 20 matches has been released due to state elections.

Ahead of the cash-rich league, Delhi Capitals` (DC) Ashutosh Sharma spoke about his role for the team. He stated that his aim would be to finish the games for the team at number six or seven.

“The preparation is going very well. We have attended 3-4 pre-season camps. My role would be similar to last year, finishing games for the team at number 6 or 7. I want to win as many games as possible,” he said.

The 27-year-old cricketer then said that he doesn`t feel pressure while batting in front of the huge crowd, an usual scenario in the IPL.

“I don`t feel the pressure when I am in the middle. I believe in my ability and my hardwork. This season I have not developed a new shot or something. It is just about perfecting the game I already have,” said Sharma.

The tournament is all set to kick off from March 28. The first match is scheduled to be played between the defending champions, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

DC will begin the IPL 2026 campaign by playing their first match against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on April 1 at the Ekana Cricket Stadium B Ground in Lucknow.
