Did Kareena Kapoor Khan say Dhurandhar is not Ranveer Singh`s film?

Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar has taken the box office by storm. The first film was released in December last year, while the sequel hit theatres on March 19, 2026, and continues to perform strongly. Amid this, a report has surfaced that claims Kareena Kapoor Khan has weighed in on the film’s success. However, the actress has not commented on the film and a confusion led to the misunderstanding.

Did Kareena comment on Dhurandhar?

Several reports claimed that Kareena Kapoor stated that Dhurandhar is not Ranveer Singh`s film. Many thought it was Kareena`s attempt at taking a dig at Ranveer`s contribution to the film`s box office success.  However, the statement was never made by the actress.

The statement was made by a Ormax head, Shailesh Kapoor, in a recent interview with the Financial Times. The newspaper made an error in the name by referring to Shailesh as Kapoor Khan at one place, causing the confusion.

Sharing his thoughts on Dhurandhar, Shailesh said, “Dhurandhar is not a Ranveer Singh film in any way. It is very much a director’s film. Even today, when the film is being referred to, it is being called Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar.”

About Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge

Dhurandhar 2 was released in theatres on March 19 with the CBFC granting it an A certificate. Despite muting several abusive words, audiences reported that many remained audible.

Amid this, the makers recently sent a new print to theatres with additional censorship.

According to a report in Bollywood Hungama, the makers have sent a new print, in which they have muted a few abusive words. A source reportedly told the portal, “In the earlier version, some abuses were muted, but many of them were left untouched. In the new print, more cuss words have been censored. The dialogue where Sanjay Dutt says ‘L***d c******a kya’ in the Operation Lyari sequence has been muted, though the gesture made by the actor while mouthing the dialogue remains.”The source further added, “The abuse, ‘B******a’, said by Rakesh Bedi while getting his pedicure done, and by a character in the Aari Aari song sequence, was also silenced. A few more abuses have been similarly muted in other parts of the film. Words like ‘B****a’ and ‘G***u’ were kept untouched.”

For the uninitiated, this marks a third print of Dhurandhar 2 after a new print was sent to theatres a few days ago, rectifying a mistake in one of the scenes, in which a cameraman`s reflection was seen in the mirror.
