Actor Vivek Sinha had an impactful role in Dhurandhar and Dhurandhar 2, as he played the role of hijacker Zahoor Mistry in the films. While Ranveer Singh and Aditya Dhar’s film minted over Rs 1000 crore, reports about the cast and supporting cast’s fees have been doing the rounds. As claims of him earning up to Rs 1 crore surfaced online, Vivek clarified that while he was paid well, the figures being circulated are exaggerated.
Vivek Sinha addresses rumours about his Dhurandhar fees
Sinha, in the video, first thanked everyone for the love he has been receiving. He later stated that he has seen a few Instagram pages posting the fees of the Dhurandhar cast. Some posts mentioned that he received Rs 60 lakh, others wrote Rs 80 lakh, and some even claimed he got Rs 1 crore.
However, in the video, the actor clarified, “Bhai, itna paisa nahi mila hai kasamse. Yeh sab mat dalo (Brother, I haven’t received that much money, I swear. Don’t put all these things).” He further said, “Mujhe Dhurandhar se paisa mila hai, achcha paisa mila. Jo expected amount tha woh mila. Lekin utna paisa nahi mila, aur jo paisa mila tha, woh khatam ho chuka hai. Mumbai mein rehta hoon bhai, aur bahut kharche hain yahan. Toh Dhurandhar wala saara paisa khatam ho chuka hai (I got money for Dhurandhar, good money. I got the amount I expected. But I didn’t get that much, and what I did get is over. I live in Mumbai, and there are many expenses here. So all the money from Dhurandhar is over).”
Vivek Sinha on facing backlash for playing a terrorist
In Dhurandhar, Vivek Sinha played terrorist Zahoor Mistry, one of the five hijackers who hijacked Indian Airlines flight IC-814 in 1999.
In the film, Sinha’s character delivered the line, “Hindu waqai darpok qaum hai (Hindus are truly a cowardly community),” which sparked outrage among sections of the audience. Several viewers seemed unable to separate the actor from his role. Responding to the reactions, Vivek took to Instagram to clarify his identity. In one post, he wrote, “Mera naam Vivek Sinha hai aur main aatankwadi nahi hoon (My name is Vivek Sinha and I am not a terrorist).”
