Kohli reached his fifty off 37 balls but was dismissed off the very next delivery by Pandya.

The right-hander mistimed a full toss while attempting an aerial shot, with the bat turning in his hands, and Suryakumar Yadav completed a safe catch at long-on. The dismissal left Kohli visibly frustrated.

HOW VIRAT KOHLI PLAYED AGAINST MI

Virat Kohli produced a composed knock, helping Royal Challengers Bengaluru post a massive 240 for four in 20 overs. RCB also broke their own record for the highest IPL total at the Wankhede Stadium, surpassing their 235 for one against the Mumbai Indians in 2015.

Opening the innings, Kohli blended caution with intent, ensuring RCB made full use of the powerplay, reaching 71 without loss alongside Phil Salt. The duo stitched together a commanding 120-run partnership for the opening wicket, setting the tone for a big total.

Kohli looked good early on, using his trademark wristwork to good effect. His pick-up six off Trent Boult stood out, followed by crisp drives and well-timed boundaries through the off side.

Against spin, Kohli was measured, rotating strike smartly against Mitchell Santner and Mayank Markande to keep the scoreboard ticking. He also punished loose deliveries, including a powerful boundary off Shardul Thakur.

However, his innings wasn’t entirely fluent, as he took time to reach his fifty, reflecting a slightly restrained approach. Just when he looked set to accelerate, Hardik Pandya dismissed him with a full toss. While Kohli wasn’t at his free-flowing best, Rajat Patidar’s thunderous 20-ball 53 ensured RCB surged well past the 200-run mark.
