Rajkumar Hirani`s son to debut on-screen opposite Rasha Thadani: Report

Bollywood is all set to get a fresh new pairing. Ace director Rajkumar Hirani`s son Vir Hirani is going to make his big-screen debut in a rom-com, as reported by Variety India. His leading lady has been confirmed, and it`s none other than actress Raveena Tandon`s daughter, Rasha Thadani. The film is tentatively titled Lagan Laagi Re.

About Lagan Laagi Re

Lagan Laagi Re is going to be a small-town love story that is set in the present time.

The makers wanted to cast a fresh jodi for the film. Hence, while Rukmini Vasanth was earlier in consideration, they chose to go ahead with Rasha Thadani eventually, according to Variety India.

The screenplay has been penned by Karan Vyas, who is best known for writing hit shows like Scam 1992, Scam 2003, Scoop, and the film Raid 2.

Lagan Laagi Re is being directed by Sonali Rattan Deshmukh. Previously, she assisted her husband, Kunal Deshmukh, on popular romantic films like Jannat, Tum Mile, and Shiddat. It is being produced by Jay Shewakramani under his Northern Lights Films banner.

Northern Lights Films has produced several successful films in the past, such as Jawaani Jaaneman, Freddy, Jaane Jaan, and Maalik.

Vir Hirani to make OTT debut with Pritam Pedro

Before his Bollywood debut, Vir is going to make his acting debut with the web series Pritam Pedro, which is produced by his father. It will reportedly release in May 20206.

Pritam Pedro sees Arshad Warsi portray an old-school cop, compelled to team up with Vir’s young officer, who is a computer geek and uses technology to solve cases.

Rajkumar, who serves as the co-producer and showrunner, had originally cast Vikrant Massey in the role of the young cop. The actor, however, had to exit the project. “Vir wasn’t supposed to be launched with Pritam Pedro. But during casting changes, Hirani felt Vir could fit in as a young tech geek,” said an insider.

Another source revealed, “The cyber crime thriller was originally mentioned in the streamer’s 2025-26 slate. But as work on the series went on for long, it is finally arriving this May.”
