Singer-songwriter Katy Perry is under scrutiny after she was accused of sexual assault by actress Ruby Rose. A police investigation is underway in Australia. Amid the controversy, a former Melbourne nightclub manager has shared his account of the night in question. While claiming both were heavily intoxicated, he denied witnessing any alleged assault.
Melbourne nightclub ex-manager alleges Perry and Rose were drunk
In an interview with the Herald Sun, as per Rolling Stone Australia, the ex-manager of the Melbourne nightclub Spice Market claimed the night in question was a “security nightmare.”
Recalling the instance, the manager shared, “They came in together. They were also with Katy`s hair and make-up girl and another guy who was friends with Ruby,” he claimed. “It was a security nightmare because there were 600 people there, and Katy kept coming out and dancing with everybody and going right in the middle of the mosh pit.”
However, he denied witnessing the alleged incident. “They were in the Genie Bottle and having drinks and stuff, but were mainly in there doing their own thing,” the manager said. “I wasn`t aware of any alleged assault or someone vomiting.”
He claimed that Rose and Perry were both “drunk” and were escorted to exit secretly. “Both had way too much to drink,” he alleged. “To avoid people taking photos of them in that state, we organized a car and driver. We escorted them out the back and up the fire exit and put them in the car together.”

Rose came forward with the allegation on Sunday night, writing on Threads that Katy Perry had allegedly sexually assaulted her at a club in Melbourne when they were both in their early 20s.
“Katy Perry sexually assaulted me at Spice Market nightclub in Melbourne. Who gives a shit what she thinks,” she wrote. She added, “She didn`t kiss me. She saw me ‘resting’ on my best friend`s lap to avoid her and bent down, pulled her underwear to the side, and rubbed her disgusting vagina on my face until my eyes snapped open and I projectile vomited on her,” as quoted by Variety.
A representative for Perry has issued a statement strongly denying the accusation. According to PEOPLE magazine, the representative for the singer said, “The allegations being circulated on social media by Ruby Rose about Katy Perry are not only categorically false, they are dangerous, reckless lies.”
