IPL 2026: RCB cruising at 99/2 after 10 overs against DC

The Royal Challengers Bengaluru scored 99 runs at the end of 10 overs against the Delhi Capitals. RCB openers started the innings with a bang and gave the hosts a fast start in Bengaluru.

Phil Salt and Virat Kohli attacked the DC bowler from the off and raced to 59 runs at the end of powerplay. Kohli lost his wicket in the last over of the powerplay after being caught on the boundary on 19 runs off 13 balls.

Phil Salt continued the assault scoring 57 runs in 34 balls. Salt reached his 50 in just 30 balls to continue his good form. The Englishman was joined in the middle by Devdutt Padikkal, and the duo stitched together a partnership to take RCB to 99 runs in 10 overs.

With a deep batting line-up to come and the likes of Rajat Patidar, Tim David and Jitesh Sharma still on the bench, RCB will look to post 200-plus runs on the board and get yet another win this season.

Earlier, after losing the toss, RCB captain Rajat Patidar admitted that he was looking to bat first anyway and put up a big total on the board.

“Happy to bat first because we were planning to bat first on this track. It`s a day game, looking like a good surface. So we`ll put a good total on the board and put them under pressure. (On the green initiative) Yeah, I think we wear this jersey to show our commitment to sustainability and encourage everyone to make green choices for the planet. (Changes) No, we are playing with the same side. (On playing well at the Chinnaswamy) Of course, there was a lot of planning behind it. And as you know, this year we have a final at Chinnaswamy, so we have to win all the home matches.” Patidar said.
