CJP protest live in Delhi: The Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) is all set to hold its second major protest at Jantar Mantar in the national capital today. Ahead of the protest, CJP founder Abhijit Dubke called on supporters to bring “plates and spoons” as the Gen Z-led group intensified its campaign against exam paper leaks and student suicides.
The protest will begin at Jantar Mantar at 1 pm and students from Delhi and surrounding states are expected to participate in it.

Ahead of the protest, CJP’s Abhijit Dubke on Friday called on supporters to carry a ‘thali’ and a ‘chamach’ (spoon), comparing it to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appeal for clanging utensils during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“All cockroaches joining tomorrow’s protest at Jantar Mantar should carry a plate and spoon with them. You know the rest of the story,” Dupke said in a video posted by the organization on social media.
The call to bring plates and spoons was seen as a reference to Modi’s appeal in March 2020, when people were asked to clap and bang utensils from their balconies during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Dubke’s letter to PM Modi
He also wrote an open letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday, in which he expressed concern over the deteriorating condition of students and demanded accountability from the government.
In the letter, Dipke has demanded compensation from the Center. ₹Rs 1 crore to the families of students who committed suicide amid controversies related to examinations. He said 11 students had died by suicide in recent weeks.
“It is with a heavy heart that I write to you today to bring your immediate attention to a growing crisis that threatens the future of our country – the lives and mental well-being of our young students,” Dipke said in the letter.
He also pressed for the dismissal of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and said accountability should be fixed.
He said, “Cockroach Janata Party has been demanding the resignation of the Education Minister since last month and has been holding protests across the country for our demands. What we students want is to see some accountability for the loss of lives.”

When asked if CJP planned to contest elections in future, Deepke raised the question, “Why should we contest elections? If everyone in this country has to contest elections to demand their rights, how will it work?”

“They (politicians) do not have money to give to the families of the students and they are using the money to buy MLAs and MPs,” Dupke said.
He said, the elected representatives have made education a business.
”We elect people to run the government and (government) schools. But instead of running government schools, they open their own schools. It has become a business for them,” he said.

CJP protest live in Delhi: Security tightened in Delhi before the protest

Officials said CCTV cameras have been installed in and around the protest site to monitor the gathering in real time. Around 270 body-worn cameras will be used by police personnel on duty to maintain transparency and document proceedings.
He said Delhi Police videographers have been deployed to record the protests and any developments at the ground level.
Multiple layers of barricades have been installed around Jantar Mantar and surrounding roads; Vehicles are being stopped for checking at major entry and exit points in the city.
All top officials of Delhi Police have been assigned field duty to monitor the security arrangements.
