US-Iran war live updates: US Central Command (CENTCOM) says smoke is rising from an explosion at an undisclosed location during the attack on Iran.
US-Iran war live: Air defense systems were activated in Tehran and the nearby city of Pakdasht after fresh explosions were reported from several parts of Iran. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed it launched missile and drone attacks on the US-run Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait.
Earlier, the US military said it had disabled an oil tanker that was attempting to sail towards an Iranian port after intercepting the ship in the Strait of Hormuz. According to military officials, the US Army fired Hellfire missiles to stop the tanker.

Iranian media reported explosions in Qeshm Island, Bandar Abbas and Chabahar following the attacks. The extent of the damage was not immediately clear.
Iran retaliated across the Gulf
Iran responded by launching missiles and drones at several locations in the Gulf. Air raid sirens were sounded in Bahrain, while Kuwait said its air defense systems intercepted incoming missiles and drones.
Israel, Lebanon update
The United States said Israel and Lebanon had agreed on the framework and guidelines for a limited Israeli troop withdrawal from southern Lebanon following talks in Rome.
