Kynan Darius Chenai and Neeru Dhanda staged a superb comeback to beat Qatar and claim gold in the trap mixed team event. The Indian pair finished with an Asian-record score of 34, securing India’s third gold medal of the day.
India edged China 238-237 to clinch gold in the men’s compound archery event, completing a clean sweep of all three compound events. Earlier, the women’s team of Jyothi Surekha Vennam, Prithika Pradeep and Chikitha Taniparthi defeated China to win gold, while India beat South Korea in a shoot-off in the mixed team final to seal another gold and secure a place at the LA 2028 Olympics.
Indian boxer Priya Ghanghas signed off with a bronze medal after going down to former world champion China’s Yang Chengyu in the 60kg semifinal and similarly, Kapil Pokhariya bowed out with a bronze medal after losing 1-4 to Uzbekistan’s Turabek Khabibullaev in the men’s 90kg semifinal.
On Tuesday (September 29, 2026), the quartet of Kiran Pahal, M.R. Poovamma, Prachi Choudhary and Vithya Ramraj won India’s first and only track-and-field gold medal at the Asian Games in Nagoya.

Murali Sreeshankar and Gulveer Singh claimed silver medals in the long jump and 1500m, respectively, while Parul Chaudhary secured bronze in the women’s 5000m, adding a second medal to her Aichi-Nagoya campaign.
India also bagged two medals in the javelin throw, with Yash Vir Singh winning silver and Rohit Yadav taking bronze, behind Sri Lanka’s Rumesh Tharanga.
Earlier that day, Indian shooter Esha Singh clinched a silver medal in the women’s 25m pistol individual competition.
Pincky Balhara became the first Indian to win two Kurash medals at the Asian Games after clinching bronze on Monday (September 28, 2026), following a 0-5 semifinal defeat to South Korea’s Sumin Mo in the women’s 78kg event.
On Sunday (September 27, 2026), India’s Abhay Singh settled for an Asian Games silver medal after going down against Eain Yow Ng of Malaysia in the men’s singles final of the squash competition, and junior world champion Anahat Singh similarly secured a hard-fought Silver in the women’s singles final against Malaysia’s Sivasangari Subramaniam.

Tejaswin Shankar, meanwhile, secured his second Asian Games medal, winning bronze in the decathlon following the two-day competition.
Parul Chaudhary bettered her personal best on her way to bronze in the women’s 3000m steeplechase at the Asian Games.
On Saturday (September 26), India’s Sawan Barwal won a silver medal in the men’s marathon. India’s women’s kabaddi team extended their dominance at the Asian Games securing yet another gold medal after a thrilling 37-34 win over Iran in the finals. The men’s hockey team continued it’s winning streak, defeating Japan by 2-0, securing the semifinal berth in the big-ticket sports event.
Simultaneously, the squash squad led by teen-sensation Anahat Singh and Abhay Shetty in singles category stormed into the final game. The duo will be competing for a gold medal in their final game on Sunday.
Women’s 50m rifle 3P team comprising of Vidarsa Vinod, Ashi Chouksey, Tilottama Sen won the silver medal. Mixed squash doubles team including Joshana Chinappa, Velavan Senthilkumar clinched the bronze medal.

Meanwhile, shooters have led the charge for India. The women’s skeet team, comprising Raiza Dhillon, Maheshwari Chauhan and Parinaaz Dhaliwal, won a bronze with a combined score of 331 here on September 23, 2026.
Experienced rifle shooter Elavenil Valarivan played a starring role in the country’s double-silver haul in the women’s 10m air rifle competition. Elavenil, one of India’s most accomplished rifle shooters, helped the country secure silver in the team event along with Sonam Maskar and Vidarsa Vinod. She then went on to add an individual silver.
For the men’s side, teenager Himanshu Dhillon produced a superb performance to win silver, while former world champion Rudrankksh Patil clinched bronze as India secured two individual podium finishes in the men’s 10m air rifle event. The two then teamed up with Parth Mane to win another silver in the team event, finishing just behind China.
After an impressive start in shooting, India also managed to script history in Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), with Suchika Tariyal winning the nation’s first-ever bronze medal for MMA at the Asian Games.
A contingent of 501 Indian athletes, comprising 267 men and 234 women, is competing across 36 disciplines in the 2026 edition. Apart from shooting, athletics and archery too are expected to add to the medal tally. India is also defending both the men’s and women’s titles in cricket and kabaddi.
