Shoojit Sircar and Abhishek Bachchan are teaming up for the first time in I Want To Talk. Shoojit, who has worked extensively with Amitabh Bachchan, compared Abhishek to his father, while noting that his acting style closely mirrors that of his mother, Jaya Bachchan.
In an interview with India Today, Shoojit mentioned that while many compare Abhishek to his father, he noticed similarities with his mother, Jaya Bachchan, particularly in his eyes, mannerisms, and way of speaking. He remarked that the purity seen in Jaya Bachchan’s roles, like in Mahanagar and Abhimaan, was also evident in Abhishek.
Sircar discussed the different approaches of Amitabh and Abhishek to acting. He explained that while Big B prefers long rehearsals, often for hours, Abhishek’s method is more about absorbing the character’s essence on set and reviewing the script repeatedly. For I Want To Talk, Shoojit praised Abhishek for his simplicity and discipline, noting that he fully immersed himself in the role of Arjun, staying true to the character even while on set.
I Want To Talk is set to release after a series of back-to-back disappointments for Abhishek Bachchan, including films like Ghoomer, Dasvi, Bob Biswas, and The Big Bull. The movie also features Banita Sandhu and Johny Lever in key roles and will hit theaters on November 5.
