‘Singham Again‘ which released with ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’ has been making all the right noise at the box office. The film’s USP was its impressive ensemble packed into a larger-than-life Rohit Shetty set-up. ‘Singham Again’ has managed to do a decent business, yet, due to the film’s big budget and star cast, the trade expected it to do even better. On the other hand, ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’ which was mounted on a lesser budget has now crossed the collection of ‘Singham Again’ so far.
BB 3 started seeing a better number than ‘Singham Again’ just when its second week was about to begin. After collecting Rs 173 crore nett in the first week, ‘Singham Again’ made Rs 47.5 crore in its second week. In the third week, by the end of Friday evening, the movie can be expected to make Rs 15-16 crore for week 3. On Wednesday, the film made around Rs 1.65 crore. On Thursday, it made Rs 1 crore. Thus the total collection of the movie so far, is Rs Rs 236.15 crore.
Both these films have slowly started seeing a bit of competition from ‘The Sabarmati Report’ now, as it’s gaining momentum due to word of mouth and has made in the range of Rs 1 crore each day from the time it released. It made Rs 1 crore even on Thursday. The film may get better footfalls now that it has been declared tax free in regions like Madhya Pradesh and Haryana. Today, Shoojit Sircar’s new film with Abhishek Bachchan is set to release. It’s expected to be a niche one but has started getting rave reviews already and may be able to see some numbers over the weekend.
