Earlier, Saira Banu released an official statement, showing the strain that moved them to separate after so many years of marriage. According to the statement, the couple, despite their intense love for each other, could not bear the irreconcilable tensions that marred the relationship. The actress also requested privacy during this horrible period.
“After many years of marriage, Saira and her husband A.R. Rahman have made the difficult decision to separate from each other. This decision comes after significant emotional strain in their relationship. Despite their deep love for each other, the couple has found that the tensions and difficulties have created an insurmountable gap between them, one that neither party feels able to bridge at this time,” reads the statement.
AR Rahman also shared his thoughts with the situation in a sincere note on X, questioning what that is the end to their relationship and how they felt it hard to be separated. He thanked friends for being considerate of their privacy. “We had hoped to reach the grand thirty, but all things, it seems, carry an unseen end. Even the throne of God might tremble at the weight of broken hearts. Yet, in this shattering, we seek meaning, though the pieces may not find their place again. The couple has three children. Khatija and Raheema are their two daughters, and Ameen is the son. The split of the couple was spoken about by each on their social media platforms.
