Abhay Arora is known for his intense role as Yasir in Dhurandhar 2, but the actor insists the character is far removed from who he is in real life. In an exclusive interaction, he opened up about portraying brutality on screen, sustaining an injury during filming, and fulfilling a dream of working with stars like Ranveer Singh.

Reflecting on his character, Abhay admitted, “It’s very unlike my personality. They call me a gentle giant, but as an actor it was lovely.” He added that the role gave him a chance to explore a darker side. “As much opportunity I had to express the brutality of this character, I did. As you could see in some of the scenes, it’s evident in the eyes. It was quite nice to be like that.”
Despite playing an intense role, the actor shared that he maintains a clear boundary between work and personal life. “As a professional, it doesn’t really go back with you to home… but you know what audience would feel when they see it. That is something which comes to your mind,” he explained, emphasising how audience perception plays a crucial role in his performance choices.
Talking about the action sequences, Abhay revealed a painful incident on set. “We had the best action team… but there was this sharp edge of the equipment which I was getting pulled off and it went in my ankle. It just kept going in,” he recalled. Describing the moment, he said it felt like a real-life version of what is often portrayed on screen. “Like how we see in action sequences… a sharp edge going in, cutting further and further. I felt that was happening.”
On sustaining a serious injury
What stood out was his determination to complete the shot despite the injury. “The director said cut and we were like, oh, it’s bleeding… but the shot was ready. It was just the last bit,” he shared. Remembering a famous line, he added, “I remember someone from the industry said that the show must go on and that’s Raj Kapoor. So I was like, this can be fixed after, the shot is more important.” Only after finishing did he receive first aid.
Abhay also spoke about sharing screen space with industry veterans. “It’s like a dream come true to share a screen with people you have grown up seeing… they are just phenomenal,” he said, adding that beyond their talent, their humility left a lasting impression on him.
Looking ahead, the actor expressed excitement for future opportunities. “I’m ready for whatever challenging character comes my way… I feel more evolved and more accepted by the industry,” he said, hoping his work and range continue to be recognised.

The post has over 356K likes, with many others also seemingly agreeing with the take. “R Madhavan and Danish aren’t shying away from accepting an obvious fact,” wrote one X user posting a screenshot of them liking the post.
However, Ranbir’s fans defended him in the comments. “Ranbir and Ranveer are both great actors but ranveer cant pull off TAMASHA’s Ved,” claimed one, while another wrote, “Ranbir can easily pull off jassi and hamza but ranveer can’t pull off barfi.” One fan even commented, “Performance of Ranbir in Sanju, Barfi and Rockstar, hands down debate over, just wait for Ramayana.” Another claimed, “Ranbir Kapoor will eat anyone ….such a great actor he is ….louder roles with costumes are for mass but real acting is without any mask …Remember that …A barfi is enough.”

England Cricket Board’s (ECB) managing director Rob Key has responded to comments made by all-rounder Liam Livingstone, saying the player remains in contention for selection despite his recent criticism of the team management.Livingstone, who has not played international cricket since England’s winless campaign in the ICC Champions Trophy under former captain Jos Buttler, had told ESPNCricinfo that the management, including Key and head coach Brendon McCullum, did not show enough concern for players once they were dropped. He also said Key did not communicate with him before his central contract expired, claiming he was told there were “100 more important things to do”.
Responding after England’s Ashes review, which followed a 1-4 loss in Australia, Key said: “Look, I am not going to go into private conversations. Obviously, there is another side to that conversation as I saw it. What I did say to Liam at the end of what was a fairly tetchy phone call to say the least [was that] there is no way I see a player of Liam Livingstone’s ability not being up for selection for England.”Key added that Livingstone had been discussed for a return during the limited-overs tour of Sri Lanka ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup and remains in the mix, provided he performs.“We debated him for the Sri Lanka series. About Dharmendra’s death
The veteran actor was hospitalised in early November 2025 due to deteriorating health. Soon after, rumours about his death began circulating online. However, daughter Esha Deol and wife Hema Malini dismissed these rumours, and he was brought back to his family home in Mumbai.
On November 24, Dharmendra breathed his last, leaving the film industry in mourning. His last rites were performed in the presence of his family. He is survived by his two wives, Hema Malini and Prakash Kaur, and six children, including Bobby Deol, Sunny Deol, Esha Deol and Ahana Deol.
Dharmendra’s final film, Ikkis, directed by Sriram Raghavan, released in theatres on January 1. His performance was widely praised by critics and audiences alike.

French superstar Kylian Mbappe says the knee injury that kept him sidelined for almost two months is “behind him” and there had never been a concern he would miss this year`s World Cup. The 27-year-old Real Madrid striker admitted he had not been at his best mentally during the 54-day absence — the longest of his career. “There was a lot of frustration, anger and anxiety,” the French captain said. Mbappe, who along with the French squad flies to the United States on Tuesday for friendlies against Brazil on Thursday and then Colombia Sunday, came on as a substitute for a few minutes in last week`s Champions League last-16 match at Manchester City. He also played over 25 minutes for Real — for whom he is top scorer this campaign with 38 goals in 34 appearances — in the 3-2 derby win over Atletico on Sunday.
“It is behind me,” he said of the injury. “I put myself under a regime where I wanted to return gently but with a hunger to play. “I hope I am going to be able to play during the international break and make a difference.” The France captain — a World Cup winner in 2018 and runner-up in 2022 — said he had been annoyed by the rumour mill suggesting his injury was more serious than it actually was. He had avoided undergoing surgery after scans he had in Paris at the beginning of March revealed he would not require an intervention. “Lots of people gave their own diagnosis, I heard many false things,” said Mbappe, who was appearing at an event of an insurance company he invested in in Paris on Monday.
`Not at my best`
Mbappe said there had never been a doubt about the injury preventing him from playing at what will be his third World Cup finals in June. “No, that was never a topic of discussion,” he said. “At worst I could have had a partial rupture (of the ligament) which would have ruled me out till April. “There was never a debate about the World Cup or the climax to the season with Real Madrid.” In spite of the sprain and the resulting pain the former PSG star played part of January and February, admitting he and Real “had tried to manage it as best as possible”.
“One has to look at the positive, today, I have no pain and we are still in the hunt for trophies, that is what is most important,” he said. “We will have time afterwards to assess how it was handled. “I am not going to go into the details, I will say I was not at my best in handling this period, I was not the happiest of players but I am delighted that is behind me now.
“All (the pain) is gone.” Mbappe said he was looking forward to pitting his wits against the Brazilians, who are managed by Carlo Ancelotti, who coached the Frenchman in his first season at Real. “It might be a friendly but when you play Brazil, the greatest footballing nation with five World Cup wins, it is unbelievable to play against them,” he said. “It is a team who could win the World Cup, it is good to compare how we are at the moment with them. “Even if we cannot take a lot of learnings out of this get together, we can nevertheless take some. “One thing is for sure we are not going there for a holiday, we are going there as a step in our preparations for the World Cup.”
