By the mid-2010s, Diageo had effective and then majority control of USL, and hence of the franchise, even though UB Holdings retained a minority shareholding in USL for some time.Vijay Mallya eventually exited USL’s board and gave up active control of the franchise around 2016 amid legal and financial troubles. This left Diageo/USL as the effective owner and operator of RCB.In March 2024, the franchise officially changed its name from Royal Challengers Bangalore to Royal Challengers Bengaluru, aligning with the city’s new spelling.RCB ended their IPL title drought by winning the title in 2025, the 18th edition of the T20 competition.In late 2025, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, owned by United Spirits Limited, a Diageo subsidiary, put the franchise up for sale.Multiple bidders came to the table with Aditya Birla Group, TOI Group, Bolt Ventures & Blackstone consortium triumphing by virtue of the biggest bid of $1.78 billion.In absolute terms, Royal Challengers Bengaluru has seen a $1.67 billion increase in value over the 18 years. This represents a 1495 percent rise, or 16-times the original price paid by Vijay Mallya.
Actress Alaya F recently walked the ramp at Lakmé Fashion Week in Mumbai. After her appearance, the actress sparked chatter online, with several users speculating that she had gone under the knife. Alaya quickly took note of the reactions and shut down rumours of undergoing cosmetic surgery. Alaya F took to social media to address claims that she had altered her nose and lips. She clarified that she would never hide such a decision from her audience if she ever chose to undergo cosmetic procedures. The actress said her social media was flooded with comments from users assuming she had a nose job and lip fillers.
Reacting to the speculation, Alaya shared a video on her Instagram Stories addressing the rumours. She said, “Guys, I want to address something that I`m seeing in my comments right now. For some reason, a lot of you think that I`ve gotten some surgery done. I`m getting nose job and lip comments. I have not done anything, I promise.” She also zoomed into her face in the video to show that she had not undergone any cosmetic procedure.
She continued, “If I had, I would have told you. See, it`s the same nose, the same lips… Kuch nahi kiya hai. It`s just different lighting, I don`t know, good habits, hydration, face massages. I don’t know.”
“Mainne surgery nahi kiya hai. If I would have done it, I would have happily told you. I`m not the type to hide or lie about it at all. But see, it`s the same, promise. God knows why you guys think I`ve gotten something done. Nothing. Same only. Promise,” Alaya said while concluding the video.
Back in 2021, Alaya, who made her debut with Jawaani Jaaneman, had spoken about considering a nose job. She said she had thought about it because she has a slight bump on one side of her nose. During an appearance on By Invite Only, Alaya was asked if she had ever considered cosmetic surgery.
She candidly confessed, “Yes, I have. I have considered it; I have not done it. I think everyone has been like, ‘Maybe I should…’ It is the smallest thing, I don’t even know if people can see it. So, this side of my nose is the nice one (shows right profile), this one (showing the left side) has a slight bump here. It’s like the tiniest thing in the world.” “I’ll probably never do it because it’s so pointless.” When the host said he couldn’t see what she was referring to, she replied, “Most people don’t, but it’s okay.”
NEW DELHI: The government on Tuesday said that women-led growth will be central to the country’s development ambitions, even as policymakers and industry leaders called for stronger ecosystems to support women in innovation and entrepreneurship.Speaking at a summit organised by the women’s empowerment arm of the BRICS Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports Raksha Khadse said India’s goal of becoming a developed nation by 2047 would depend on greater participation of women and youth in economic activity.“India’s youth and women together form the backbone of a progressive nation. Empowering them with opportunities in innovation and entrepreneurship is key to nation-building,” she said.The three-day event, held in the national capital, brought together policymakers, industry representatives and global stakeholders to discuss cross-border collaboration and women’s leadership in science and business.Speakers at the summit underlined the need to move beyond discussions on inclusion to enabling access to finance, markets and decision-making roles. Debjani Ghosh, distinguished fellow at NITI Aayog and former Nasscom president, said the focus must shift from diversity metrics to influence and outcomes. “While diversity and inclusion have laid the foundation, the real measure of progress now lies in how many policies we (women) shape and how many key decisions we (women) influence. The focus must shift to impact, leadership and outcomes.”Ruby Sinha, president of BRICS Women Empowerment division said the Summit is a call to action as far as women empowerment is concerned. “It is our collective responsibility to build stronger ecosystems, enable greater access, and invest in women-led innovation.”Former minister Meenakshi Lekhi said the next phase of growth would require women to play a larger role in diplomacy, innovation and global engagement. Officials also highlighted the need for institutional support, including flexible work structures and childcare, to improve workforce participation.The summit also saw the signing of a partnership with Brazil’s micro and small business support agency SEBRAE to boost cooperation among women-led enterprises across BRICS economies.

Jammu & Kashmir pacer Auqib Nabi, 29, has been one of the most consistent performers in domestic cricket over the last few seasons. He topped the wicket charts with 60 scalps, playing a key role in J&K’s maiden Ranji Trophy triumph last month. In the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 too, he finished as J&K’s leading wicket-taker with 15 scalps. Delhi Capitals (DC) have picked up Nabi for Rs 8.40 crore, which shows how crucial the in-form pacer could be for them. Though this will be his maiden IPL season, considering his ability to swing the ball both ways and pick wickets could make him a key asset for DC.

Just a few years ago, Madhya Pradesh’s left-arm pacer Mangesh, 23, was playing tennis ball cricket. Now, he’s preparing for his maiden IPL season after being picked by defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru for Rs 5.20 crore. Mangesh is capable of hitting speeds of 140kmph, besides his slower-ball variations. Though he has represented MP in only two Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy matches and three Vijay Hazare Trophy games (three wickets in each tournament), his 14-wicket show in the MP T20 League last season made him stand out.

Prashant Veer, 20, the Amethi-born all-rounder from Uttar Pradesh, has played only nine T20s, picking up 12 wickets and scoring 112 runs. But his impressive performances (376 runs and 18 wickets) in the BCCI U-23 State ‘A’ Trophy (50-over format) last season, and 320 runs and eight wickets in the UP T20 League, earned him a call-up for Chennai Super Kings’s (CSK) selection trials in Chennai. CSK then purchased him for a whopping Rs 14.2 crore, making him the joint-most expensive uncapped Indian, along with Kartik Sharma. Having Veer in their ranks, CSK are probably viewing him as a potential replacement for experienced left-arm spin-bowling all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, who was traded to Rajasthan Royals (RR). Veer is known as a good left-arm spinner who can also smash big sixes down the order.

Rajasthan pacer Ashok Sharma, 23, served as a net bowler for RR in 2021, 2023, and 2024. He was also part of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in 2022, but did not get a game. RR picked him in 2025, but he didn’t feature in a match. Gujarat Titans (GT) have secured him for Rs 90 lakh ahead of the 2026 auction. Ashok made a strong statement in last season’s Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, topping the wicket charts with 22 scalps. He is known for bowling perfect yorkers at a speed of 140kmph. Looking at his current form, Ashok, an admirer of former South African speedster Dale Steyn, could finally get his IPL debut with GT this season.

CSK have also invested heavily in uncapped wicketkeeper-batter Kartik Sharma, 19. The Rajasthan player has scored 334 runs in 12 T20s at a strike-rate of 162.92. A top-order batter known for his six-hitting ability, Karthik was bought for R14.2 crore from a base price of Rs 30 lakh. His impressive strike-rate of 160 in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (133 runs in five games) compelled the five-time champions to include him in their squad.

Director Priyadarshan has called actor Akshay Kumar his first “preference” when it comes to Hindi comedy movies. Speaking with news agency ANI, Priyadarshan opened up about his casting process in the films, saying that he decides the actor after writing the script. He added that for humour, Akshay Kumar is his top choice due to both preference and comfort working with him.
Priyadarshan said, “I think about my script first. Then I decide who is right for it. Whenever I think of humour, my first preference is Akshay. More than anything, it’s my comfort level of working with him.”
The director also reflected on the making of Bhool Bhulaiya and noted that the film was originally supposed to be a psychological thriller rather than a horror comedy. “No, we didn’t think about horror comedy when we made Bhool Bhulaiya. We just thought of a film which is a psychological thriller, but if you watch any of my films, there will be a lot of humour,” added Priyadarshan.
He continued, “From the day I started my career, I have been doing that. I like situational humour. So, I also tried to put a little bit of humour into horror because when you go to watch a horror film, people will be a little tense. So, they actually look for a chance to laugh a little bit at that. That is how we have decided to make films in the genre of horror comedy.”
Priyadarshan and Akshay had earlier worked together in movies such as Bhagam Bhag, Hera Pheri and Garam Masala. The duo are collaborating for the upcoming horror comedy film Bhooth Bangla, which will release in theatres on April 10. It is presented by Balaji Motion Pictures, a division of Balaji Telefilms Ltd, in association with Cape of Good Films. The film also stars Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Tabu and Wamiqa Gabbi in prominent roles.
After Bhoot Bangla, Priyadarshan will direct Haiwan. It stars Akshay alongside Saif Ali Khan, Saiyami Kher and Shriya Pilgaonkar. Priyadarshan has also announced that his 100th film will be with Mohanlal. The director is known for memorable comedies such as Hulchul, Hera Pheri, Bhagam Bhag, Malamaal Weekly, Khatta Meetha and Chup Chup Ke.
Apart from Bhooth Bangla and Haiwan, Akshay also has Welcome to the Jungle and Hera Pheri 3 in the pipeline.
Mohamed Salah will leave Liverpool when his contract expires at the end of the current season. The club confirmed the news on Tuesday, bringing the curtain down on one of the most decorated spells in the club’s history.
The 33-year-old Egyptian forward announced the news himself via a video message posted to his social media accounts. He said he wanted supporters to hear it directly from him.
“Unfortunately the day has come. This is the first part of my farewell,” Salah said. “I will be leaving Liverpool at the end of the season.”
Liverpool backed the announcement with an official statement. The club said Salah had chosen to go public at the earliest opportunity “due to his respect and gratitude” for the supporters.
Salah joined Liverpool from AS Roma in 2017 for around $50 million. Few could have predicted the impact he would go on to have. He became one of the greatest players in the club’s history, scoring 255 goals in 435 appearances. That tally puts him third on Liverpool’s all-time scoring list, behind Roger Hunt (285) and Ian Rush (346).
During his nine years at Anfield, he helped the club win eight major trophies. Those include two Premier League titles, the Champions League, the FA Cup, two League Cups, the Club World Cup and the UEFA Super Cup.
Individually, Salah won the Premier League Golden Boot four times, in 2017-18, 2018-19, 2021-22 and 2024-25. That matches the record set by Arsenal great Thierry Henry. His debut season at the club, in which he scored 44 goals across all competitions, remains one of the finest individual campaigns in Premier League history.
In his farewell message, Salah spoke about what the club had come to mean to him.
“I never imagined how deeply this club, this city, this people, would become part of my life,” he said. “Liverpool is not just a football club, it’s a passion, it’s a history, it’s a spirit.”
He added: “We celebrated victory, we won the most important trophies, and we fought together through the hardest time in our life.”
No details about his next destination have been announced. At 33, Salah remains one of the most recognisable names in world football. His departure marks the end of an era at one of the sport’s biggest clubs.
Liverpool has not confirmed any plans for a replacement ahead of next season.

Celina Jaitly married Austrian entrepreneur Peter Haag in 2010. The couple has three sons—twins Winston and Viraaj, born in 2012, and Arthur, born in 2017. Their son Shamsher passed away due to a heart condition. Singer-songwriter Charlie Puth has embraced fatherhood after welcoming a baby boy. The 34-year-old musician and his wife, Brooke Sansone Puth, welcomed their first child together. Sharing the news on social media, they also dropped adorable glimpses of thier newborn.
The couple announced that they have been blessed with a baby boy, whom they have named Jude. Announcing the news, they wrote, “Hey Jude 3.13.26,” along with a series of intimate photos offering a glimpse into their first moments as parents.

The pictures featured their newborn wrapped snugly in a white blanket, dressed in a blue-and-white striped onesie. The other photos captured tender moments between the new parents and their baby, including one where Puth is seen holding his son. Other pics included close-up shots of Jude’s tiny hand and nose.
One of the images also showed Brooke wearing a delicate “J” necklace. The couple also shared a picture of multiple Polaroid pictures seemingly taken at the hospital after Jude`s birth. Each of the Polaroid pictures had handwritten notes. One read, “Playing Jude ‘In My Life’ by The Beatles,” while another proudly stated, “He drank over 30ml of formula! A new record.” Both notes were dated March 14, marking their first days as new parents.
