However, an AI image of them is doing the rounds, and the actress slammed netizens and warned of legal action.

In an AI-generated picture, Kunickaa was seen posing with Kumar Sanu. Kunickaa reposted it on her account and wrote in the caption, “Sharam karo (have some shame). This man is happily married and has kids. You should also know he has personality rights given to him by the court. You will get into trouble for this. Stop dragging him or my personal life into fandom wars. Give due respect to a person’s rights. I’m reporting you for defamation. Take this down.”

About Kunickaa Sadanand and Kumar Sanu

In an old interaction with Siddharth Kannan, Kunickaa had talked about falling for Kumar Sanu when they coincidentally met on a trip to Ooty. On the trip, one emotional moment brought them together. Kunickaa alleged that the singer was having a difficult time in his marriage with then-wife Rita Dutta. Seeing this emotional outburst from Sanu, Kunickaa tried to console him and provide emotional support, after which they bonded.

After being together for six years, Kunickaa discovered that Sanu was having an affair and called off their relationship. However, she has no qualms about opening up about their relationship.

On Bigg Boss 19, Kunickaa spoke about her secret affair with Kumar Sanu in a conversation with Tanya Mittal and Neelam Giri. Inside the house, she said, “I hid my secret relationship for 27 years and never commented on it. I have spoken about it now, and I feel so light. He was a married man, had separated from his wife, and we were in a live-in relationship. I was not married at that time. We were living in, but then he had an affair with another girl. I left him after he accepted cheating on me.”

Actress Valerie Perrine, best known for her role in the Superman franchise, has passed away at the age of 81. She played the role of Eve Teschmacher in Superman (1978) and Superman II (1980).

Perrine passed away on Monday, 23rd March, at her Beverly Hills home. The news was confirmed by her long-time friend Stacey Souther. The Oscar-nominated actress had been battling Parkinson`s disease for 15 years.

She was a true inspiration who lived life to the fullest—and what a magnificent life it was. The world feels less beautiful without her in it. I love you, Valerie. I’ll see you on the other side. Souther also encouraged fans to contribute toward Perrine`s funeral and make her last wish come true, stating that her finances were exhausted after dealing with Parkinson`s.

She added, “Please consider donating, sharing, and helping spread the word for her funeral GoFundMe. Her final wish is to be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Cemetery, but after more than 15 years of fighting Parkinson’s, her finances are exhausted. Let’s come together to make her last wish a reality—she truly deserves it.”

Valerie Perrine`s career

Perrine’s career comprised a wide range of roles across genres. She made her debut in Slaughterhouse-Five (1972). 

She worked with Hollywood`s biggest leading men. She was paired opposite Jeff Bridges in The Last American Hero (1973) and shared screen space with Robert Redford in The Electric Horseman (1979). She also appeared alongside Jack Nicholson in The Border (1982).

The actress also starred in Lenny (1974) as Honey Bruce, which brought her critical acclaim and won her accolades like the BAFTA Award for Most Promising Newcomer to Leading Film Roles and the Cannes Film Festival Award for Best Actress. She was also nominated for an Oscar.

Before the release of Dhurandhar (2025), lead actor Ranveer Singh landed in controversy for mimicking the Daiva scene from Kantara: Chapter 1. Many fans took offence, and police complaints were filed against the actor. Even as Ranveer made headlines for the historic box office success of Dhurandhar Parts 1 and 2, the case related to the mimicry continued in the Karnataka High Court. The actor has now agreed to apologise in court.

Ranveer Singh to issue apology

During a hearing in the Karnataka High Court on Tuesday, counsel representing Ranveer Singh said the actor would issue an unconditional apology for his actions. The court was hearing Singh’s plea to quash an FIR registered against him in the matter. The High Court observed during the hearing that what the actor did was not appropriate.

Advocate CG Malayali, appearing for the complainant, contended that Ranveer Singh’s apology lacked sincerity. He noted that the actor had described Chamundi Daiva as a demon and had only apologised through a tweet posted by his team. Since the alleged remark was made verbally, Malayali argued that the apology should also be delivered orally.

He further maintained that Ranveer Singh must personally visit Chamundi Hill with his legal counsel and apologise in person. The bench concurred, observing that if the complainant sought a court-directed appearance for the apology, the actor ought to comply.

Senior advocate Poovayya told the court that an affidavit expressing regret would be submitted and confirmed that Ranveer Singh would visit Chamundi Hill. The bench emphasised the need to offer apologies at the temple and demonstrate genuine remorse, noting the strong influence public figures have on society.

The court adjourned the matter to April 10 for further hearing. Ranveer Singh’s father was present during the proceedings.

All about the controversy

The incident occurred when Ranveer mimicked the finale sequence from Kantara: Chapter 1 in front of a live audience that included director-actor Rishab Shetty. During the impersonation, he likened the sacred Chamundi Daiva, a mystical figure revered in coastal Karnataka, to a “female ghost.”

While the remark drew laughter from some attendees at the event, it quickly triggered outrage after a video of the incident surfaced online.

The clip spread rapidly across social media, with many viewers calling Ranveer’s performance “insensitive” and “tone-deaf.” Several critics said the attempt at humour came across as disrespectful to followers of the Daiva tradition.
