In newly released footage from the arrest, an officer with the Suffolk County Police Department (SCPD) in New York asked Timberlake, 45, to look over some paperwork before signing, and the pop star jokingly questioned why the cop listed his race as white on the form. “White?” Timberlake asked, before turning to look at the officer who handed him the paper. “I’m just kidding. I’m just kidding, man,” the star then said while laughing.

The singer also told officers that they were “wild” while standing in a holding cell, according to the newly released footage. In the video, an officer informed the star that he was being held until the following morning, after which Timberlake smiled and asked if he had to remain in the cell “all night?” After a police officer confirmed that yes, he would be held overnight, Timberlake then said, “Yo, you guys are wild, man.” The ‘Mirrors’ singer then sat down and, after the officers told him he was able to make a phone call, sighed loudly.

Timberlake was arrested after he left the American Hotel and restaurant on Long Island, N.Y., on June 18, 2024. He was initially charged with one count of driving while intoxicated and two citations, one for running a stop sign and one for failure to keep in the lane. In September 2024, Timberlake reached a plea deal, where he agreed to plead guilty to a lesser offense.
The Pakistan Super League (PSL) has faced a growing challenge over the last two seasons, with several players leaving the tournament to join the cash-rich Indian Premier League (IPL). Traditionally, the PSL is held between January and March, allowing it to finish before the IPL begins.
However, over the last two years, the PSL has overlapped with the IPL, creating a major headache for the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). Whenever injury replacements or other squad vacancies emerge in the IPL, players involved in the PSL have been tempted to leave Pakistan and switch leagues.
In 2025, the PSL was moved to March-April because Pakistan was hosting the Champions Trophy in February, leading to a direct clash with the IPL. This year too, the schedule was pushed back after the T20 World Cup was held in February and March, once again forcing the PSL into an overlapping window with the IPL.
FROM BOSCH TO SHANAKA
The first major instance of a PSL-contracted player switching to the IPL came last year, when South Africa’s Corbin Bosch was picked by Peshawar Zalmi in the Diamond category for PSL 2025, in a deal reportedly worth around 85,000 US dollars.
However, he later pulled out after joining Mumbai Indians as an IPL replacement for Proteas pacer Lizaad Williams when the two leagues overlapped. The PCB issued him a legal notice, calling it a breach of contract. Bosch later apologised, but was handed a one-year PSL ban and a fine, ruling him out of PSL 2026.
In IPL 2026, there have already been two more PSL-to-IPL switches after Bosch’s controversial move last year. Blessing Muzarabani, who had signed for Islamabad United as Shamar Joseph’s replacement, pulled out of the PSL before joining Kolkata Knight Riders after the three-time champions parted ways with Mustafizur Rahman, who had been bought for INR 9.20 crore at the auction.
Meanwhile, Sri Lanka’s Dasun Shanaka is set to join the 2008 champions Rajasthan Royals as an injury replacement for England all-rounder Sam Curran, according to reports. If completed, Shanaka’s move would become yet another example of the growing PSL vs IPL scheduling conflict hurting the Pakistan Super League.

Apart from Blessing Muzarabani and Dasun Shanaka, there could be more PSL-to-IPL switches in the coming days. West Indies spinner Gudakesh Motie has already withdrawn from the PSL, where he was set to play for Lahore Qalandars, and there have been rumours linking him with a possible move to Lucknow Super Giants, although nothing has been officially confirmed.
Meanwhile, Australian fast bowler Spencer Johnson, who was signed directly by Quetta Gladiators, is also set to withdraw from the PSL. There are also rumours that he could join Chennai Super Kings as a replacement for Nathan Ellis, but an official confirmation is still awaited.

The price of a barrel of international standard Brent crude was trading at just over $111 on Sunday. It was at $112.19 on Friday and reached $119.50 early last week.
The price of both WTI and Brent has increased since the beginning of the war, when Brent was around $70 a barrel.

Benchmark US oil contract WTI rose on Monday after US President Donald Trump gave Iran a 48-hour ultimatum to open the Strait of Hormuz or face the destruction of its energy infrastructure and Israel warned that the war would continue for several more weeks.
At 0015 GMT, West Texas Intermediate (WTI) was up 0.44 percent at $98.66 a barrel. Earlier on Monday it had become slightly more than $ 100 per barrel.
South Korea’s benchmark Kospi index and Japan’s Nikkei fell sharply in early trading.
The Kospi was down 4.69 percent at 5,509.88 points. The Nikkei 225 was down 3.54 percent at 51,483.91 points.
Global market benchmark North Sea Brent crude was down 0.02 at $112.17 per barrel.
On February 27, a day before the start of the US-Israeli attacks on Iran, WTI was at $67.02 and Brent at $72.48 per barrel.

Anil Agarwal-led Vedanta Ltd has moved the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT) against the approval of Adani Enterprises Ltd’s ₹14,543 crore bid for bankrupt Jaiprakash Associates Ltd.

Vedanta has appealed against the Allahabad bench of the National Company Law Tribunal’s (NCLT) 17 March order approving the Gautam Adani-led company’s plan and rejecting the mining company’s challenge, per the appellate tribunal’s cause list.
The matter is likely to be heard on Monday by a bench led by NCLAT chairperson Justice Ashok Bhushan.
Vedanta had earlier termed the approval a “commercial conspiracy” and sought reconsideration of its bid.
At the core of the dispute is how value should be assessed under the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC). Vedanta argued that lenders violated the principle of maximising value through a fair process. It said it had emerged as the highest bidder with an offer of ₹12,505.85 crore on a net present value (NPV) basis.
Despite this, lenders approved a rival plan which, according to Vedanta, was lower by about ₹3,400 crore in total value and ₹500 crore in NPV. The company also alleged procedural unfairness, saying it was not given reasons or an opportunity to clarify its proposal.
Vedanta further pointed to an improved offer submitted on 8 November 2025, increasing upfront cash to about ₹6,563 crore and equity infusion to ₹800 crore. It argued that this would have led to better recovery and should have been considered.
The committee of creditors (CoC) defended its decision, saying the process complied with all IBC rules. They maintained that no bidder has a guaranteed right to win, even if it offers the highest value.
They said plans were evaluated on multiple factors, including upfront cash, feasibility, and execution, not just headline value. Adani’s bid was preferred as it offered around ₹6,000 crore upfront and faster payments within two years, compared with Vedanta’s longer payment timeline of up to five years.
Lenders also rejected Vedanta’s revised offer, saying it was submitted after bidding had closed and accepting it would require restarting the process. They added that all bidders were given equal opportunity and multiple chances to improve their bids.
Queries sent to Vedanta and the Adani Group remained unanswered till press time.
According to lawyers, the challenge by Vedanta and dissenting creditors at NCLAT is more a statutory stress test of the Adani-JAL resolution than a re-evaluation of the deal. They say tribunals typically go with the CoC’s commercial wisdom, in line with Supreme Court rulings that uphold the primacy of lenders’ decisions.
“The NCLAT does not act as a super-CoC to compare bids. Its role is limited to checking whether the process followed the IBC,” said Ankita Singh, founder of law firm Sarvaank Associates, adding that unless there is a clear procedural violation, such challenges are unlikely to derail a plan backed by a strong majority of lenders.
The NCLT, in its 17 March order, upheld the lenders’ decision, stating that the CoC’s commercial wisdom is final and cannot be interfered with unless there is a clear legal violation. The tribunal found the process to be fair and compliant, and said Vedanta had no right to be selected merely for being the highest bidder.
It also agreed that Vedanta’s revised offer was invalid as it was submitted after the deadline, and concluded there was no legal flaw in the process.
