Oscars producers defend In Memoriam segment amid growing backlash over Dharmendra, Eric Dane omissions

The 2026 Academy Awards may be done and dusted, but the controversy surrounding its In Memoriam segment refuses to die down. The show’s producers have come under fire for leaving out several prominent names, including veteran star Dharmendra, from the televised tribute. Amid the growing backlash, broadcast executive Rob Mills, who oversees the telecast, weighed in on the criticism, defending the segment as one of the most complex and challenging aspects of putting the show together.

Recently, Hema Malini reacted to Dharmendra's omission from the Oscars tribute, calling it a shame.

Oscars exec on In Memoriam omissions

During an interview with Variety, Rob Mills, Walt Disney Television’s EVP of unscripted and alternative entertainment, defended the decision to omit some names from the In Memoriam segment during the Oscars 2026 broadcast.

Rob was asked about the In Memoriam segment, which drew criticism for leaving out several notable names, and the backlash it sparked among viewers.

To this, Rob said that it is the Academy’s call on who ends up on the telecast, but it is hard. “I think it’s the hardest thing they possibly do. It always is hard when they are sort of villainised for this. Yes, there’s always people who are left out. Unfortunately, we’re losing more and more people, and especially, we’re losing legendary people every year, so it is probably the hardest needle to thread. I do think what they did last night might have been the best In Memoriam in the history of the Oscars,” he said.

He also spoke about the segment in the interview with The Wrap, admitting that conceptualising the segment is always a big task.

Giving a peek into what goes behind it all, he said, “Robert Redford passed away before, and then when Diane Keaton passed away, and those are two monumental legends — this is in the fall. Now, the advantage we had too with the show was the producers were in place before last year’s show … so you can start planning for that now. When you lose people like that … the In Memoriam really needs to be really, really done — these are legendary names for losing. And then obviously the tragedy with Rob and Michelle Reiner was just awful. When that happened, I think that’s when they started to really think about, ‘Okay, how is this going to take shape? What are we going to do?’… It’s a big task that I think [Raj Kapoor and Katy Mullan] met the moment beautifully.”

In Memoriam segment during Oscars 2026 slammed

The 98th Academy Awards, held in Los Angeles on Sunday night, sparked disappointment among viewers after several late icons, including Dharmendra, were missing from the extended In Memoriam segment during the live broadcast.

During the ceremony on Sunday, the In Memoriam segment paid tribute to the late Hollywood icon Rob Reiner and his wife Michele Reiner, among many Hollywood legends lost this year. The lost icons that featured in the segment included Robert Redford, Robert Duvall and Diane Keaton.

In an interview with Subhash K Jha for Bollywood Hungama, Hema reacted to his omission from the Oscars tribute and said, “It is a shame, of course. A shame for them to have overlooked an actor who means so much to so many people across many parts of the world. Dharamji was known and recognised everywhere.”

Later, Dharmendra’s name was included in the tribute on the official website of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Hollywood actors, including James Van Der Beek and Eric Dane, were also included in the list with the other 300 names, including actors, directors, producers, and screenwriters who the film world lost over the past year.

Meenakshi Goyat shocks Antim Panghal to make Indian team for Asian C’ships

Overcoming “self doubts”, Meenakshi Goyat shocked Antim Panghal to book her place in the Indian women`s team for the next month`s Asian Championships, handing the two-time World Championship medallist a rare defeat at home. Having lost to Antim three times in the trials before, Meenakshi put up a display of solid defence, eking out an impressive `win by fall` after leading 6-2 against the Asian Games bronze medal winner, who has literally owned the 53kg weight category since departure of iconic Vinesh Phogat. Meenakshi often had Antim in a head lock position, never allowing her to play to her strength — aggressive and attacking game. Antim went for a double leg attack in the beginning but Meenakshi denied her fancy rival and even created a position from where she pushed for a `pin`. Meenakshi executed a take down to go on board while Antim retaliated with a point.

The 21-year-old then attempted single leg attacks but Meenakshi stayed solid in her defence. With a push-out point Antim made it 2-2. In the second period, Meenakshi effected consecutive take down moves to go up 6-2. With nine seconds to go, Meenakshi managed to push Antim on the mat with a solid grip and succeeded in pinning the three-time Asian Championship medallist. In utter disbelief, Antim did not get up, staying on the mat on her back. Meenakshi, who could not stop smiling, came and offered a hand to her superior rival.

The 25-year-old Meenakshi, who is a two-time national champion, trains in Sonepat under former national coach Kuldeep Malik. She has competed in 50kg a number times but is now settled in 53kg. “It`s really fun winning the trials. I am enjoying the moment,” Meenkashi said, aware of her achievement. “I could play my game today. I would lose to big names in the past despite well-prepared but this time I didn`t let it slip. I always had these doubts in mind about my own capabilities but I have overcome that mental block. She (Antim) also made mistakes and I cashed in on,” said Meenakshi, the daughter of a farmer from Jind. The chirpy wrestler said how she spent the night before with positive affirmations.

“I did not want to waste this chase. Till mid-night I was imagining that I have won and won by technical superiority. I was telling myself that I have already won and I am going to Asian Championships,” said Meenakshi, who has trained under a number of coaches in her career. “My family also supported and kept telling me that I have nothing to lose and all to gain. I have practised my moves so may times that by muscle memory my defence stayed strong, I did not gave her my leg. Every time she attacked my leg went back, away from her reach,” she said, explaining the strategy and preparation. Kuldeep`s son Ajay, who also trains Meenakshi said, “We were confident from the beginning. We had been planning for long. Before the stunning defeat, Antim had won both her bouts by technical superiority — against Riya and Juli — without conceding a single point and in quick time. Meenakshi had also won both her bouts by technical superiority — against Gouri and Anjli, without losing a point. The Asian Championships are slated to be held in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan from April 6 to 11.

Actor Shakti Anand reflects on how TV helped him survive

An actor’s shelf life can be precarious if they are not working — either on a project or themselves. After nearly 26 years in the industry, few understand this better than Shakti Anand, who made his debut on Indian TV with Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Thi (2000). Now, the actor is on double duty with his latest show Mahadev and Sons and Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Thi 2 (2025). Initially averse to social media, Anand chose to evolve with time. He believes that he has made it because producers are still ready to put money on him.

“I’m proud that I survived. When I entered the industry, [everyone] scared me. I survived because of TV. So, I think survival has been [important]. If people are still making reels of me or watching my shows, and producers are ready to put money on me as a main lead, [it makes me] proud to be here,” reflects the actor.

While he has dabbled in digital entertainment, TV remains his first love. “When I couldn’t get anything, it was TV that gave me support,” he says. Asked whether he faced prejudice or if he was rejected for being “overexposed”, Anand is unapologetic. “I’m happy being overexposed. It’s better to be a king in hell than to be a slave in heaven.”

Kumble backs Sanju Samson for CSK vice-captaincy, calls him ‘in similar mould to MS Dhoni’: ‘Kerala-born, speaks Tamil’

Kumble backs Sanju Samson for CSK vice-captaincy, calls him ‘in similar mould to MS Dhoni’: ‘Kerala-born, speaks Tamil’

After playing a key part in India’s T20 World Cup-winning campaign, Sanju Samson is ready to begin a fresh chapter in the Indian Premier League with Chennai Super Kings. Having led Rajasthan Royals over the past few seasons, Samson now steps into a different setup, with Ruturaj Gaikwad set to captain the side. His exact role remains a talking point, especially with MS Dhoni still around, which could impact his chances of keeping wickets.

Anil Kumble hails Sanju Samson’s fit for CSK. (AP and CSK)

The move marks a significant shift in Samson’s career. Joining one of the most decorated franchises in IPL history brings both opportunity and pressure in equal measure. A new environment at Chepauk will test his adaptability, but it also offers a bigger stage to showcase his talent. With a strong fan base already behind him, a stint with CSK could see his popularity grow even further in the coming season.

Weighing in on CSK’ decision to rope in Samson, Anil Kumble highlighted the generational shift in Indian cricket leadership, linking it to the franchise’s move. He believes Samson’s recent form and confidence make him a valuable addition to the CSK setup.

“Icons from one generation to another, the baton has passed on in Indian cricket, from Sunil Gavaskar to Sachin, then to Virat, with MS Dhoni also part of that era. You had the likes of Rahul Dravid and Sourav Ganguly before the shift to MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli, who still carry that aura and continue to perform. In that sense, Sanju coming in is a great move for CSK. The icing on the cake is his fantastic form leading into the IPL and winning the World Cup for India with three back-to-back knocks,” Kumble said on CSK’s decision to bring in Samson.

Kumble added that Samson’s inclusion goes beyond skills, noting the local connection and cultural fit. Being Kerala-born, Tamil-speaking, and a wicketkeeper-batter in the mould of MS Dhoni, Samson’s experience and background are expected to strengthen CSK both on the field and with their fan base.

“I’m sure that will certainly contribute to the franchise’s fan following. From a Chennai perspective, he fits their need, being Kerala-born, speaks Tamil, so there’s a connect, a wicketkeeper-batter, so in a similar mould to MS, and his experience will be valuable for CSK,” he said.

‘If Ruturaj is unavailable, Sanju would probably take over rather than MSD’

In recent seasons, CSK has faced uncertainty over captaincy, with MS Dhoni stepping in multiple times due to injuries or transitions, creating a recurring challenge in establishing a clear leadership structure.

Kumble said Samson is ideally suited for a vice-captain–style role at CSK. With extensive captaincy experience at Rajasthan Royals, he can support the leadership group, step in if Ruturaj is unavailable, and provide stability.

“I think that’s the perfect role for Sanju, handling those responsibilities almost like a vice-captain. He has captained Rajasthan for a long period of time, so that leadership role comes naturally to him, and that’s something CSK will be looking for. Last year, when Ruturaj was injured, MS had to take over, and previously, when Ravindra Jadeja was also captain, MS Dhoni came back in as captain midway through the season. So there have been some challenges in identifying who the next captain would be for MS. Ruturaj was identified, and it is good that he continues as captain despite Sanju coming into the scheme of things. I wouldn’t be surprised if MS Dhoni gives Sanju the keeping role at some point during the season. He will be part of the leadership group, and in case if Ruturaj is unavailable due to injury or otherwise, Sanju would probably take over rather than MS,” Kumble said.

Naturally, the upcoming show at the venue is a landmark moment in Das’s career. He said, “Every tour feels like a new conversation with the world. Performing at the Royal Albert Hall is special, it’s a venue that carries so much history and has hosted some of the greatest performers. Over 200 Ukrainian military experts in Gulf region to counter Iran’s drones | US-Israel war on Iran News

Ukrainian President Zelenskyy says Moscow and Tehran are ‘brothers in hatred’; claims Iran’s drones ‘contain Russian components’.

More than 200 Ukrainian military experts are in the Gulf region and wider Middle East helping governments in their defence against Iran’s drone attacks, Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said.

In an address to dozens of members of the United Kingdom Parliament in London on Tuesday, the Ukrainian leader said 201 Ukrainian anti-drone experts are in the region and another 34 “are ready to deploy”.

“These are military experts, experts who know how to help, how to defend against Shahed drones,” Zelenskyy said in his speech, referring to the Iranian-designed “kamikaze” drones that Russia has been using in its war against Ukraine since 2022.

“Our teams are already in the Emirates, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and on the way to Kuwait,” the Ukrainian leader said.

“We are working with several other countries – agreements are already in place. We do not want this terror of the Iranian regime against its neighbours to succeed,” he said.

Last week, the Ukrainian leader said military teams had been sent to several Gulf states and Jordan.

Zelenskyy, who met with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer and NATO chief Mark Rutte earlier on Tuesday, said Russia had received the Shahed-136 drones from the Iranians, who had “taught Russia how to launch them and gave it the technology to produce them”.

INTERACTIVE - SHAHED 136 drone

“Russia then upgraded them. And now we have clear evidence that Iranian Shaheds used in the region contain Russian components,” Zelenskyy said, describing the drones as designed for “low-cost destruction of expensive critical infrastructure”.

“So what is happening around Iran today is not a faraway war for us, because of the cooperation between Russia and Iran,” he said.

“The regimes in Russia and Iran are brothers in hatred, and that is why they are brothers in weapons. And we want regimes built on hatred to never win – in anything,” he added.

The Ukrainian leader then addressed his country’s newly developed prowess in drone warfare and manufacturing, claiming that 90 percent of Russian losses on the front lines in Ukraine are being “caused by our drones”.

Ukraine has moved on from making sea and aerial drones to producing interceptors that target drones, he said, adding that Ukraine is capable of producing at least 2,000 interceptors per day – half of which are required for its own defence and the remainder available for use by Kyiv’s allies.

“If a Shahed needs to be stopped in the Emirates – we can do it. If it needs to be stopped in Europe or the United Kingdom – we can do it. It is a matter of technology, investment, and cooperation,” he said.

While Ukraine has become one of the world’s leading producers of sophisticated, battlefield-proven drone interceptors, US President Donald Trump has said he does not need Ukraine’s help with countering Tehran’s drones targeting military targets in the Middle East.

After meeting with Zelenskyy at 10 Downing Street, Starmer said Russian President Vladimir Putin “can’t be the one who benefits from the conflict in Iran, whether that’s oil prices or the dropping of sanctions”.

During Zelenskyy’s visit on Tuesday, London and Kyiv signed a deal on a “defence partnership”, which is said to combine “Ukraine’s expertise and the UK’s industrial base to manufacture and supply drones and innovative capabilities”.

Noel Tata seeks truncated term for Tata Sons Chairman Natarajan Chandrasekaran as part of succession revamp| Business News

Tata Trusts Chairman Noel Tata is advocating for a two-year extension for Tata Sons Pvt. Ltd. Chairman Natarajan Chandrasekaran rather than the five-year mandate, as part of a succession revamp at India’s largest corporate empire.

Tata Sons Chairman Natarajan Chandrasekaran (left) and Tata Trusts Chairman Noel Tata.
Tata Sons Chairman Natarajan Chandrasekaran (left) and Tata Trusts Chairman Noel Tata.

The Tata Trustees are preparing to deliberate on this truncated term, according to people aware of the matter. The core of Noel Tata’s proposal hinges on bifurcating the conglomerate’s top leadership, transitioning from a single all-powerful chairman to a tiered structure comprising a non-executive chairman, a chief executive officer and managing director, and a deputy CEO.

The Tata Sons board, which first appointed Chandrasekaran to the helm in 2017 and renewed his mandate in 2022, unexpectedly deferred a decision on a third term during its meeting on 24 February 2026. Without a fresh extension, Chandrasekaran’s current tenure is set to conclude in February 2027.

Accountability & Restructuring

The boardroom pause reflects growing demands from Noel Tata for a clear operational roadmap, particularly concerning the performance of high-cash-burn businesses launched under Chandrasekaran’s watch. These include aggressive, capital-intensive pivots into e-commerce, commercial aviation, and semiconductor manufacturing.

“Noel is seized of the developments. We expect to soon discuss and find an amicable way in the interest of the Tata Group,” said an executive aware of the internal deliberations, requesting anonymity because the discussions are private. Formal dialogues could commence as early as next month, the person added.

The proposed two-year extension is viewed as a pragmatic bridge.

“To start with, a succession plan has to be agreed upon,” the executive noted. “Along with succession planning, the structure of a non-executive chairman, a CEO, and a deputy CEO at Tata Sons could also be considered. If everyone agrees, the incumbent chair can have a one or two-year tenure, and by that time, you would have selected a successor.”

Boardroom Dynamics

The push for a shorter term highlights a shifting dynamic within the conglomerate. Tata Trusts—primarily the Sir Ratan Tata Trust and Sir Dorabji Tata Trust—holds a 65.9% stake in Tata Sons, the holding company that controls over two dozen listed entities including Tata Consultancy Services Ltd., Tata Steel Ltd., and Tata Power Ltd.

In July of last year, under previous leadership, the two principal trusts endorsed a third five-year term for Chandrasekaran, even agreeing to relax the mandatory retirement age of 65 for executive chairs. Chandrasekaran, a Tata veteran who joined the group in 1987 and previously led TCS to record profitability, turns 63 this June. Noel Tata, by contrast, stepped down as managing director of Tata International in November 2021 upon turning 65.

Now at the helm of the Trusts, Noel is reconsidering that carte blanche. This stance sets up a potential friction point with other key stakeholders. TVS Motor Co. Chairman Emeritus Venu Srinivasan and retired Defence Secretary Vijay Singh—both influential voices within the Trusts—have previously affirmed their faith in Chandrasekaran and backed a full five-year extension.

Despite differing views on tenure, there is internal consensus on the underlying urgency. “We are hopeful that Venu and Vijay will agree and see what Noel is putting forward,” the executive said. “Keep the issue of retirement age aside for now—the simple point is that Tata Sons can ill afford not to have a succession process.”

The $11 Billion Capex Question

At the heart of Noel Tata’s hesitation is capital allocation. Under Chandrasekaran, Tata Sons has successfully deleveraged legacy balance sheets but simultaneously poured over $11 billion into ambitious new ventures, including the privatisation of Air India, the launch of Tata Digital, and the establishment of Tata Electronics.

While these sectors offer massive growth potential, Noel has privately voiced concerns regarding their sustained cash bleed, a lack of measurable performance benchmarks, and their heavy reliance on the parent company for capital. Conversely, Chandrasekaran’s supporters argue that the current volatile global financial landscape requires a battle-tested leader with the proven expertise to navigate complex, long-gestation investments.

Consolidation of Power

As the debate over Tata Sons’ leadership plays out, Noel Tata is quietly consolidating his team at Tata Trusts. Long operating in the shadow of his late elder half-brother, the late Ratan Tata, Noel recently inducted his son, Neville Tata, and trusted confidant Bhaskar Bhat into the Sir Dorabji Tata Trust. This transition has been accompanied by the exits of businessman Mehli Mistry in October and former Citibank CEO Pramit Jhaveri in February, who concluded their terms at the principal Trust.

Despite the internal recalibration on succession and capital deployment, the six-member Tata Sons board remains entirely unified on one critical front: keeping the holding company out of the public markets. Like Chandrasekaran and the rest of the board, Noel Tata remains staunchly opposed to a public listing, preferring the nerve centre of the Tata Group to remain firmly in private hands.

Keeping your home secure is no longer limited to just recording footage. Today, users want smarter systems that can actively monitor activity and notify them instantly when something unusual happens. This is where modern CCTV cameras have evolved with intelligent features.

Smart CCTV cameras that detect motion and keep your home monitored at all times.

For the past seven years, I have tracked consumer tech through constant shifts in hardware, platforms, and the way people actually use devices. Covering everything from budget gear to flagship hardware, I focus on what readers need to know, not on buzzwords or launch cycle hype. My expertise spans gaming laptops and chairs, high-performance PCs, gaming monitors, printers, smartwatches, earphones, headphones, Bluetooth speakers, tablets, and more, with a particular emphasis on how these products hold up in daily use. Reviews, explainers, buying guides, and news pieces all share the same goal: giving readers enough detail to make confident decisions without wading through fluff. Away from deadlines, I spend a lot of time gaming and watching films and anime, which naturally filters back into the work. Performance, comfort, display quality, and sound are judged the way players and viewers experience them, not just by lab numbers, which keeps my coverage grounded in real scenarios rather than just benchmarks.

Factors to consider when buying a CCTV camera

  • Cameras with reliable motion sensing can reduce false alerts and focus on meaningful activity.
  • Higher resolution cameras provide clearer footage, making it easier to identify people or objects.
  • Infrared or low-light performance ensures the camera remains effective at night.
  • Cloud storage and local storage options help you access and save recordings as needed.
  • Stable connectivity and user-friendly apps make it easier to monitor footage and receive alerts in real time.

How do motion sensors improve home security?

Motion sensors allow the camera to detect movement and send instant alerts to your phone. This helps you stay aware of unusual activity without constantly monitoring the live feed, making security more proactive and efficient.

Are motion alerts reliable for everyday use?

Most modern cameras are designed to minimise false alerts by distinguishing between different types of movement. However, placement and sensitivity settings play an important role in ensuring accurate detection.

For the first time, Ranveer opened up about the overwhelming response to the first instalment, expressing heartfelt gratitude to the audience for embracing the film.

“Doston aapne Dhurandhar ko, humari film ko ek aithihasik mukaam tak pahunchaya hai aur yeh sirf aapke pyaar aur sammaan ki wajah se hai. Aaj pure vishwa ki cinema going audience ko, aap sabko, humari team se dhayanwad (Friends, you have taken Dhurandhar, our film, to a historic milestone, and this has only been possible because of your love and support. Today, we, as a team, thank the cinema-going audience across the world, you all, for this),” Ranveer said.

Our entire team is incredibly happy about this). We are so humbled and grateful for the response to the first part of the film. We are so humbled by the kind of excitement and anticipation that we are seeing for the second part. It is unprecedented. We are still processing it. It is such a rush.”

During the event, Ranveer also expressed hope that the second part will change the future of Indian cinema, saying, “Aur itna bata doon, ab indian cinema ka mustaqbil ab Dhurandhar: The Revenge tay karega.”

Dhurandhar makes a splash

Helmed by Aditya Dhar, the spy action thriller serves as the first instalment of a two-part film series and went on to become a huge box office hit.

It tells the story of an Indian spy infiltrating Karachi’s criminal and political underworld in Pakistan. The plot weaves together several real-life events involving geopolitical tensions, such as the 1999 IC-814 hijacking, the 2001 Indian Parliament attack, the 2008 Mumbai attacks, and events surrounding Operation Lyari.

Released on December 5, the film collected over ₹1300 crore worldwide and became the first Bollywood film to cross ₹1000 crore at the domestic box office.

Dhurandhar 2 to be out soon

Now, the second part of the film is slated to release on March 19. The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has given the much-awaited sequel an A certification.

The film is doing exceptionally well in its paid previews and advance bookings. The film’s paid previews, which open on Wednesday from 5.30 pm onwards, are almost booked with almost 10 lakh tickets sold.

The film will release in five languages, including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada. The film will bring back Ranveer Singh as Jaskirat aka Hamza, R Madhavan as strategist Ajay Sanyal, with Arjun Rampal as ISI’s Major Iqbal and Sanjay Dutt as SP Chaudhary Aslam.

The film was initially slated for a box office clash with Yash’s much-anticipated Toxic, but the face-off was averted after the latter pushed its release from March 19 to June 4. However, the spy thriller is now set to take on fresh competition from Pawan Kalyan’s Ustaad Bhagat Singh, with both films arriving in theatres on March 19.

'Indian cricket more than couple of people': Ashwin echoes Gautam Gambhir's approach

Former India off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has supported head India men’s cricket team head coach Gautam Gambhir, saying his approach puts the team ahead of individuals, while also speaking about his retirement, his time with India cricket team, and the current state of Test cricket.Speaking at RevSportz’s Trailblazers, Ashwin said he sensed the end of his Test career during the opening match of the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar series in Perth.“At Perth (the first Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25), I was the senior bowler. Washi played that Test, and I realised that my time was up,” he said. After the second Test in Brisbane, a pink-ball match where he scored 22 and 7 and took a wicket, Ashwin retired from international cricket. He finished with 765 wickets across formats for India and scored 4,394 runs, including six centuries and 15 fifties in 233 innings. He was part of India’s 2011 World Cup and 2013 Champions Trophy winning squads, ending a career that spanned 15 years. His decision to retire, followed by exits of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli after the same series, led to criticism of the team management. Gambhir faced reactions on social media amid suggestions that senior players were pushed towards retirement. Ashwin rejected that view and backed the coach.“I like Gautam, and many people may have different opinions about him, but he is someone who always puts the team ahead of individuals,” Ashwin said. “He credits the team, not individuals, and that’s something I admire,” he added.Speaking about India’s record in Test cricket in the last decade and a half, Ashwin said: “On the 2018 tour that we went to Australia, we won that series. But there was a lot of talk about the fact that Steve Smith wasn’t there in the squad. Right. I think Steve Smith and David Warner were not in the (Australia) squad and (many people said) that’s probably why India won it. Whenwe went on the tour the second time around, we got the better of Steve Smith. David Warner was still around. Virat Kohli wasn’t there in that series (2021-22). And we did go on to accomplish something special.”Saying that there’s more to Indian cricket than just a couple of people, Ashwin said, “And which is why I think there is an Instagram post where myself, Pujara and Jinx (Ajinkya Rahane), we put up a post saying there ismore meat to the Indian team than just a couple of people. Right? And Virat, let’s all make no mistake, is probably the torchbearerand was the torchbearerof the Test cricket team. And that’s why a lot of people started to follow Test cricket as well. But a Test team cannot be just about one or two individuals.Ateam that’s built a legacy for over a decade justmeans a lot more than individuals. I think we tend to forget and drive too much upon individuality. And that’s why I love what Gautam talks about.”Looking back at his time alongside Kohli and Rohit, Ashwin pointed to the understanding within the group.“The best part about us was that none of us blamed each other. We all wanted India to win and make the country proud. We were motivated to do that,” he said.He also addressed the challenges for the Test side during the current phase of change.“The team is in transition. Playing against spin is a problem, but for me, batting is not that big an issue. We will produce batters. Bowling is not as effective as batting, and that is where the concern lies,” he concluded.
