The Indian Premier League 2026 is set to begin on March 28 with Royal Challengers Bengaluru taking on Sunrisers Hyderabad. SRH will have a difficult game first up as they travel to the defending champions and face them in Bengaluru. SRH fixtures, venue and timings announced
SRH vs RCB: Sunrisers Hyderabad will kick start their tournament with a blockbuster game against the defending champions, Royal Challengers Bengaluru. The match is scheduled to take place at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium at 7:30 PM on March 28. Historically, SRH has held a slight edge in this rivalry, leading the head-to-head with 14 wins to RCB`s 11. However, facing RCB in the first game of the season will be a big challenge.
SRH vs KKR: On Thursday, April 2, SRH will travel to Kolkata to face the Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens. SRH has historically struggled against KKR, losing 20 and winning 10 of their encounters. However, they will be aiming to change their form against a new-look KKR side.
SRH vs LSG: SRH will host LSG in their third match of the season. This will be an afternoon match at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, which usually points towards a run-fest. With both teams stacked with batters, this will be a game to look out for.
SRH vs PBKS: For their final match of the first phase, SRH will face the Punjab Kings at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh PCA Stadium in Mullanpur on April 11. Historically, SRH has a strong record against Punjab and emerged victorious when the two sides last met in 2025.

Fatima Sana Shaikh has often spoken about living with epilepsy, hoping that sharing her experiences will help create awareness around the neurological condition. In a recent conversation with Soha Ali Khan on her podcast, the actress opened up about the first time she experienced a seizure and how she was eventually diagnosed while shooting for Dangal.Recalling her earliest memory of a seizure, Fatima admitted that she remembers very little about the episode itself.“I have no memory. I just remember feeling a lot of fear and passing out and ending up in the hospital,” she said. The actor shared that one of the incidents happened while she was attending a dance class.“I was dancing and I passed out, I was getting a seizure. One of the girls kept her hand in my mouth — you know how people say ‘chamach daalo’ and all that — so she put her hand in and I bit her. Apparently she was bleeding,” Fatima recalled.When she regained consciousness, she found herself in a hospital surrounded by people. “I woke up and there were 10 people looking at me. I was disoriented. I didn’t recognise anyone and I started crying,” she said.Fatima also revealed that at the time, the episode was misunderstood by a doctor. “The doctor said, ‘Oh, this is for attention.’ They told my parents maybe there was some drug use. I was 15, so it was traumatic.”
Years later, while training for Dangal, Fatima began experiencing what are known as “auras,” which often precede seizures.“Woh time pe mujhe auras aate the, but mujhe nahi pata tha ki auras kya hote hain,” she said. “There would be this light hovering on one side, usually the right side, and it would slowly grow bigger and bigger. Then there is fear — that this thing is there and I don’t know when it will take over.”Fatima said she experienced this sensation several times during the shoot before a seizure eventually occurred on set.“I was training and it came. I kept saying, ‘Nahi, nahi, kuchh nahi hoga.’ But it kept increasing. So I told the people around me, ‘Mujhe seizure aane wala hai.’ Nobody knew what it was. Mujhe bhi nahi pata tha,” she said.She added that the team quickly stepped in to help after realising something was wrong.“Luckily Aamir Khan was there, Sanya Malhotra was there and our trainer Kripa Shankar Bishnoi was there. They quickly Googled it and kept me aside,” Fatima recalled. “Eventually, the production decided they had to figure out what this was because a lot was riding on me and the film.”
Following the incident, Fatima was taken to a neurologist and underwent multiple tests.“They did MRIs, EEG, everything. The doctor put me on medication,” she said. However, the treatment initially had severe side effects.“It felt like I was under the influence. I couldn’t walk straight, everything felt wonky. I was feeling very depressive and angry all the time. I felt very alienated,” Fatima shared.The actor eventually stopped taking the medication without informing anyone because she found it difficult to continue working.“I had to wrestle and function, so I stopped taking it. But whenever I would get an aura, I would go to the bathroom, lock myself inside, lie on my side and hope it would pass and nobody would find out,” she said. Fatima revealed that this struggle continued for several years before things stabilised. “It went on for a good four years,” she added.On the work front, Fatima is reportedly set to star in the courtroom drama series Nyaya, directed by Karan Kapadia and Nitya Mehra, which is also rumoured to feature Aneet Padda.
The Hera Pheri franchise is among the cult comedy films of Priyadarshan in Indian cinema. While the filmmaker has confirmed the third part, it was in the news recently after Paresh Rawal reportedly exited the film. In an earlier interview, Rawal spoke about how the character in the film choked him. Priyadarshan has now reacted to his remark and shared how he was excited to do the role when it was narrated.
In a recent chat with Pinkvilla, Priyadarshan reacted to Paresh Rawal’s claims about feeling suffocated by the character. He said, “When I was making the film, I called Paresh, explained the role, and asked if he wanted to do it. He jumped for it then.”
He said, “I told him clearly that he’s the hero of the film and the other two (Akshay Kumar’s Raju and Suniel Shetty’s Shyam) are the supporting characters. He said, ‘I will put my heart and soul into it.’ He had mostly been playing villain roles till then. So, he did the character and earned it. Now he can decide where to take it.”
For the unversed, previously, in an interview with The Lallantop, Paresh called the role his “gale ka phanda (a noose around his neck).” “I felt choked. I needed mukti.”
Priyadarshan also said he finds it painful that comedy directors are not respected. “I like to shoot serious films. I don’t like to shoot comedy films. I have no option, so I am doing it. But when I shoot a serious film, there’s a big issue. When you make comedy films, you are never respected as a good director. When you make a serious film, there is respect for you in the film fraternity. That is very painful to me. Why is a comedy filmmaker never accepted as a good filmmaker?” he said.
“I love making films like Kanchivaram and Kaalapaani because there I will be accepted more as a filmmaker in the film fraternity,” he added.
The filmmaker is all set to reunite with Akshay Kumar for Bhooth Bangla. It is set to hit theatres on April 10. It also stars Paresh Rawal, Asrani, Rajpal Yadav, Wamiqa Gabbi, and others. He is also set to direct Haiwaan with Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan.
Two assistant coaches of the New Zealand national cricket team, Luke Ronchi and Jacob Oram, have been allowed by New Zealand Cricket to take up coaching roles with Islamabad United in the 2026 edition of the Pakistan Super League starting March 26.Ronchi will serve as the head coach of the PSL franchise, while Oram will work alongside him as an assistant coach. However, since the tournament runs until late April, both coaches will miss New Zealand’s upcoming international assignments, including the series against South Africa national cricket team and the tour of Bangladesh national cricket team. New Zealand’s five-match T20I series against South Africa is scheduled to begin on March 15.
New Zealand Cricket says it supports the move because it will help the coaches gain valuable experience in global leagues. Mike Sandle, performance manager at NZC, said the opportunity will benefit both the individuals and the national setup.“This is a great chance for Luke and Jake to further their coaching experience and grow their skills outside of the New Zealand cricket environment,” Sandle said, as quoted by Cricbuzz. “Just like our players, our coaches are in demand around the world, and we believe Luke and Jake will not only personally benefit from their time at the PSL, but they will also be able to bring back knowledge and IP that can aid the BLACKCAPS and NZC in the future.”During their absence, other coaches from the NZC system will step in. Jonny Bassett-Graham and Graeme Aldridge will assist head coach Rob Walter for the South Africa series, while Brendon Donkers will join the staff for the Bangladesh tour.Sandle added that the arrangement also creates opportunities for other coaches to gain international exposure.“One of the added bonuses of Luke and Jake heading to the PSL is the opportunity it affords other coaches in the NZC network,” Sandle said. “It will be great to have Jonny, Graeme and Brendon join the BLACKCAPS and I’m sure they will get a lot of out their time in the environment and the experience of working alongside our players and support staff.”

We have just described the basic plot of a 2019 YouTube short film, Khwaabon by Amit Jadhav, not Saiyaara (2025). The similarities are glaring. And this is the basis of his allegations against the makers of the Ahaan Panday-Aneet Padda starrer, in a viral Instagram video.
Talking to HT City, Amit shares, “I had tried speaking up last year too. I had actually received a direct message on Instagram, from YRF Talent in 2022, they wanted to get in touch with me. I asked them which project are they reaching out to me for, they didn’t answer. I didn’t know anyone there, neither had I given any audition for them to reach out. A week after Saiyaara’s release, my friends called me and said ‘tera toh story same tha’ I was shocked. I tried reaching out to them, even going to their office but my friends said they won’t entertain me or reply.”
Interestingly, claims about Saiyaara’s plot being inspired had done the rounds last year too, albeit in regards to a 2004 Korean film, A Moment To Remember. Amit says Saiyaara is closer to his plot about music than the international film.
Amit claims he went into depression, because he had been trying to convert his short film into a feature film. “I am a singer, so I kept getting work, I relaxed a bit because of that. But one day I almost committed suicide. I was sloshed, my parents saw and that’s how I got saved. I felt like the world doesn’t want me to succeed. I was not called for any auditions,” he says.
And that’s when he started working on a script for himself, “I had got producers too. We were going to shoot in 2025. But then Saiyaara happened, everything got derailed.”
We ask if he had got any story or script registered. Amit says, “I am a part of the Screenwriter’s Association, but no I did not get the story registered in 2019 because it was a short film and out on a public platform as proof.”
Amit alleges that he tried to reach out to YRF again after the film, “I wrote in the mail that I had received a mail from them in 2022 as well, and that Saiyaara’s story is similar to mine, iska clarification dijiye. I mailed twice, got no answer.”
What he is seeking now is acknowledgement, “I should get some credit. Or I can be cast in some role atleast in some project. That’s all I am seeking.” We reached out to Mohit and Yash Raj Films for a comment, but didn’t get any response till the time of this article going live.
Kolkata: IPL franchise Kolkata Knight Riders signed Zimbabwe fast bowler Blessing Muzarabani on Friday for the 2026 IPL season for an undisclosed amount. Having secured his IPL contract, the Zimbabwe fast bowler has reportedly withdrawn from the Pakistan Super League, where he was supposed to play for Islamabad United.
The 6 ft 8” right-arm quick joins KKR after the franchise released Bangladesh seamer Mustafizur Rahman on instructions from the BCCI. Rahman has joined Lahore Qalandars, current champions of the PSL that starts March 26, two days before the IPL. With the IPL and PSL running simultaneously, Muzarabani becomes the second player after South African allrounder Corbin Bosch to withdraw from the PSL in favour of an IPL contract.
Bosch was signed by Peshawar Zalmi last year but a last-minute deal as an injury replacement for Lizaad Williams at Mumbai Indians saw the South African turning up in India. It prompted the PSL to slap a one-season ban on him so it remains to be seen if Muzarabani too pays the same penalty this time.
Muzarabani’s switch, though, is more complicated considering Rahman was dropped by the IPL, only to be given a contract by a franchise from Pakistan that had threatened to boycott the India-Pakistan game in the recently concluded T20 World Cup in solidarity with Bangladesh who were omitted from the tournament after they refused to play in India citing security concerns in the aftermath of Rahman’s unceremonious sacking.
Rahman was picked at the IPL auction for ₹9.2 crore. While details of Muzarabani’s contract are not known, he joins the IPL with the reputation of being able to generate steep bounce and strike in key phases of the innings. Muzarabani brings significant T20 experience, having claimed over 90 wickets in more than 80 T20 Internationals at an average of around 21, with best figures of 3/8.

India’s foreign exchange reserves declined sharply in the week ended March 6, reversing the previous week’s surge that had taken the country’s forex stockpile to a record high.Data released by the Reserve Bank of India on Friday showed the reserves dropped by $11.683 billion to $716.810 billion, reported PTI. In the preceding reporting week, the overall reserves had risen by $4.885 billion to an all-time high of $728.494 billion.Foreign currency assets, the largest component of the reserves, decreased by $9.880 billion to $563.245 billion during the reporting week. The RBI said these assets, expressed in dollar terms, also reflect the impact of movements in non-US currencies such as the euro, pound and yen held in the reserves.The value of gold reserves fell by $1.612 billion to $130.017 billion. Special Drawing Rights (SDRs) declined by $146 million to $18.720 billion, according to the central bank’s data.India’s reserve position with the International Monetary Fund also slipped by $45 million to $4.828 billion during the week, the data showed.
