Actor Adarsh Gourav earned praise in Season 1 for his performance as Slightly in Alien: Earth. The actor is all set to reprise the role in Season 2 of the show, which will be executive-produced by acclaimed filmmaker Ridley Scott. Meanwhile, Emmy-winning actor Peter Dinklage, who shot to fame for his performance in Game of Thrones, has come on board for the second season of Alien: Earth. Speaking about returning to the series, Adarsh Gourav said, “Being a part of Alien: Earth has been an incredibly special experience for me. The response to Season 1, especially to my character, has been truly overwhelming and deeply encouraging. Slightly is such a unique and emotionally complex character, and getting the opportunity to explore his journey further in Season 2 is something I’m really looking forward to. Working with a team led by visionaries like Noah Hawley and Ridley Scott is inspiring in every sense, and being surrounded by such talented co-actors pushes you to constantly grow. I’m excited to get back on set and dive into this world again.”

Adarsh earned widespread acclaim for his Hollywood debut in The White Tiger. His portrayal of Balram Halwai in the Netflix release earned him international recognition, including a nomination for the BAFTA Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role and the Independent Spirit Award for Best Male Lead. His last Bollywood release was Tu Yaa Main, a survival thriller which also starred Shanaya Kapoor. The film is now available to watch on Netflix.

One of the ways for a musician to evolve is by marrying their sounds with that of other artistes. Jasleen Royal has consistently sought out collaborators who expand her musical vocabulary. Her latest single, Inaam, sees her team up with Badshah; together they offer a romantic ballad about feeling content and safe in a relationship. In a chat with mid-day, Royal reflects on how their chalk-and-cheese energy led to this track, and why algorithms don’t dictate her music.
 
Excerpts from the interview.

What inspired the single?
Inaam comes from a space of longing, something I’ve been carrying within me for a while. I don’t think I’ve met that person yet, but I’ve definitely felt the emotion. It’s a quiet longing, not heavy but a hopeful one.

The internet loves a moment, especially when it can turn it into a controversy. A recent viral video did just that, sparking speculation that veteran actor Sudhir Pandey had walked off stage at the trailer launch of Ginny Weds Sunny 2 (GWS 2) Reason? He was allegedly being ignored by the team, according to the narrative on social media. However, when HT City reaches out to him, he says the truth is far from it.

“There was nothing like being disrespected. I was launching the trailer with the team, I wanted to be there. I went to the stage with everyone, and was sitting in the front row before that. Whoever has shot this video may not have noticed that. When the announcement was made, I went up with everyone,” he tells us.

What viewers didn’t know, he explains, was the time pressure he was under that day. “The problem was I was in great urgency, because my shoot for another project is going on. So, I came to attend this trailer launch in the middle of the shoot. In fact, I had told the production house for Ginny… that I will come with a little urgency. The reason you see me walking off is going to the other shoot, I was getting messages.”

For Sudhir, showing up mattered, “I have a fantastic role in GWS 2 and it’s a good film. That’s why I got permission from the other film’s team. I am thankful to them for allowing it.”

If anything, the episode has brought renewed attention to an actor whose career spans decades, with TV shows such as Buniyaad and films such as Toilet-Ek Prem Katha and Tees Maar Khan. Ask him about the secret to his longevity, and he shrugs it off, “There has been no secret. I have been very sincere to my work. I came to this industry in 1976. It has been 50 years.”

And the approach has stayed constant. “Even today in 2026, I keep working with the same passion. I will not say that I did a lot of work, but whatever I did, I did it very honestly. It was registered.” He learnt later about the viral chatter among people, who were angry seeing the viral video, “I didn’t even know what happened, I saw later on social media. The kind of reactions I have received from concerned people…. I suddenly feel that yes, people have noticed my work and I am quite relevant in their memory.”

In March, Vijay‘s wife, Sangeeta Sornalingam, filed a petition for separation after over 25 years of marriage. The Court documents showed that Sangeeta initiated legal proceedings in early 2026 before the District Court in Chengalpattu, seeking dissolution of their marriage and interim residential rights. As per the latest update from news agency ANI, the Chengalpattu Family Welfare court in Tamil Nadu on Monday postponed the hearing of divorce proceedings to mid June. The next hearing, scheduled for June 15, is expected to determine the further course of the proceedings in what continues to be a closely watched case in both political and public circles.

“In April 2021, the Petitioner (Sangeeta) discovered that the Respondent (Vijay) was involved in an adulterous relationship with an actress. This caused her deep emotional pain and mental suffering, amounting to betrayal and violation of marital trust,” the petition stated, adding that the actor “continued open association with the actress,” which caused Sangeeta emotional agony and embarrassment to the children.

“Since 2021, Vijay had emotionally withdrawn, treating his wife with verbal disdain and subjecting her to constructive desertion, forcing her to live separately within the matrimonial home. Vijay continued to travel abroad and attend public events with the said actress,” the petition further stated.

Sangeeta and Vijay tied the knot in August 1999. They have two children–Jason Sanjay, and Divya Shasha. They married according to both Hindu and Christian traditions back then, with his wife making rare appearances with him at events.

But in a recent interaction, he revealed why he chooses to keep his daughter’s thoughts about his films at a distance.Speaking at IFP about how Aaradhya reacts to his work, Abhishek made his stance clear. “I will never ask her.”Explaining the reasoning behind his decision, the actor admitted that knowing her honest opinion might impact his creative process.“I will let that thought remain in my head. Once she answers—whether she likes it or not—it’s going to change and alter the way I approach my work. Out of duty, I don’t ask her because maybe I’m not strong enough to hear what she has to say. I would rather live in the illusion of what she might want or not want.”

‘Children today are brutally honest’

Abhishek also reflected on how today’s generation of children communicate more openly, something that can be both refreshing and challenging.“Children today are very confident and know exactly what they want. They’re very good at communicating it. For people of my generation, it can sometimes be difficult to just listen, because they are brutally honest—and while they should be, it’s not always what you want to hear. As a parent, I want to do the work I believe in without being influenced by her opinion right now. Maybe that will change with time.”

‘I don’t think I will ever ask’

While he left room for the possibility in the distant future, Abhishek maintained that, for now, he prefers not to know.“God willing, if I’m around when she has her own children, I might ask her then. But as of now, I don’t want to be influenced by what she thinks. I don’t think I will ever ask.”He added with a smile, “I’m sure she’ll find an opportunity to tell me anyway, but I’ve never asked.”
