Sharing the first look, the makers wrote, “Presenting the next from the Mahavatar Cinematic Universe: #MahavatarParshuraam. Not a ruler, but a force against adharma, restoring balance across ages. Wishing you a blessed #ParshuramJayanti.”

The film will depict how Lord Vishnu took the Parshuram avatar to end the tyranny of corrupt and arrogant Kshatriya kings who had abandoned dharma (righteousness) and were oppressing the world. Mahavatar Parshuraam is set to release in theatres in December 2027.

Mahavatar Narsimha was praised for its visuals and became a hit with family audiences and youngsters across India. The film became the highest-grossing animated film in India, earning over ₹300 crore at the box office.

Jasmine Sandlas has been in the news for her striking songs in ‘Dhurandhar’ and ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’, but beyond the music. Amidst all the love she’s getting and as she’s sharing her experience on the film, Jasmine has also opened up on her personal life. In a recent interview, she spoke about her battle with alcoholism. Reflecting on a difficult phase in her life, the singer shared how she hit rock bottom and eventually found her way back, with crucial support from her family, especially her mother.Jasmine revealed that she began drinking at 23. She said during a chat with Ranveer Allahbadia , “Before that, I used to abstain from it, but when life hits you, you look for support.” Looking back at that period, she admitted to carrying regret. “I do regret some things I did in those 2-3 years when I was drinking. A lot of things piled up, I was famous on one side, I was feeling certain things, my family dynamics broke apart, my father was no more, and I was successful. I drank more than I should have, and I regret it, but it was important for me at that time,” she said, recalling the emotional turmoil she was navigating.When asked what led her toward alcohol in her twenties, Jasmine traced it back to unresolved pain from her childhood. “I had some heartbreaks in childhood from my parents. They broke my heart unknowingly many times, so there is resentment. I love them, but when a child’s heart breaks, it remains broken. When you don’t have a safe space to run to, you look for a home in everything like crazy. I did that all my life, just yearning and finding home.“Despite being surrounded by people, she described feeling deeply alone. “It all looks wonderful from outside, expensive liquor, people laughing, there were always people around me, but I used to sit on the balcony alone. There was a lot of loneliness in that crowd, but I didn’t know what to do or where else to go.”Speaking about her recovery, Jasmine credited her family for helping her through her lowest moments. “My mom and my family really helped me in that [recovery], they loved me through my rock bottoms. My biggest fight was with myself.”She also highlighted how difficult it was to break free from old patterns. “The day starts, and you fall into your old habits. I prayed so much to God, ‘Please save me, just give me one more chance’. I was so helpless. You just need the strength to say no to things. Family support is very important; don’t shun them. When I got rid of toxins in my life. I felt like I had been given a new life,” she shared.On the professional front, Jasmine has contributed to the film’s music with tracks like ‘Jaiye Sajana’ alongside Satinder Sartaaj, as well as ‘Aari Aari’ and ‘Main Aur Tu’.

Bhooth Bangla worldwide box office collection day 2: The first Saturday has seen a windfall for Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan’s Bhooth Bangla. The film built on its decent start, registering a huge jump in collections and closing day 2 on a rather promising note. If the first Sunday emulates the Saturday, the horror-comedy may be on course for a great run at the ticket window.

Bhooth Bangla recovered overseas, too. After a middling start in paid previews and opening day, it earned $1 million in the international territories on day 2. This takes its worldwide gross to an extremely strong ₹60 crore in two days. The film should cross the ₹100-crore mark in the opening weekend itself.

Fresh off the success of Dhurandhar: The Revenge, actor Udaybir Sandhu, who played Pinda, actor Ranveer Singh’s friend, is taking a moment to reflect. While he’s enjoying the spotlight, he hasn’t forgotten the struggle that shaped his journey.

Opening up about a moment that could have changed his career trajectory, Udaybir reveals he almost landed the lead role in Amar Singh Chamkila (2024), a part that eventually went to actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh.

“I had auditioned for Chamkila’s part. I had done a lot of research and I was totally invested in it. I was the one who was liked for the part,” he says. However, things didn’t go as planned. According to the 27-year-old, director Imtiaz Ali “always wanted a singer for it… they didn’t think a non-singer would be able to perform it”.

Despite the disappointment, Udaybir holds no bitterness. “When I got to know that Diljit had been cast for the role instead of me, I understood the decision. He did a great job in the film, but I could have played it very well too because I was invested,” he admits.

And what initially felt like a setback eventually turned into an opportunity, as the same audition helped him land another role in the film. “It was due to my audition for Amar Singh Chamkila that I later got the chance to play (late Punjabi singer) Shinda’s role in the film,” he shares.

Looking back, Udaybir believes the struggles he faced have made his current success more meaningful. “If you get a chance early on, it’s almost like a fluke… you stop doing that kind of hard work. So you need that struggle, that hustle,” he ends.

Along with Diljit in lead role, Amar Singh Chamkila also saw actor Parineeti Chopra.
