Hinge bowled a short delivery, and Sooryavanshi was beaten by pace. The top edge went straight up, and Salil Arora completed a simple catch behind the stumps. A few deliveries later, Hinge dismissed Jurel and Lhuan-dre Pretorius. Both Rajasthan batters went for two-ball ducks. It is also worth mentioning that this was the first time that Sooryavanshi was dismissed for a golden duck in his short IPL career so far.

The pacer was slated to make his debut in the previous IPL 2026 match against the Punjab Kings. Ishan Kishan, the Sunrisers captain, also announced his name at the toss, but in the end, the management decided to go in with Jaydev Unadkat as the impact sub.

However, a game later, Hinge finally made his debut and what a first game it was for the tall pacer. Hinge became just the eighth bowler in the IPL to take four wickets inside the powerplay, joining the likes of Pat Cummins, Ishant Sharma, Shoaib Akhtar, Deepak Chahar and Mohammed Shami. Hinge finished with the figures of 4/34 and his performance helped SRH beat Rajasthan Royals by 57 runs.

Now, if you are wondering who Hinge is and where he comes from, we have you covered. Look no further!

All you need to know about Hinge

Hinge, a right-arm pacer, represents Vidarbha in state cricket and was picked up by SRH for INR 30 lakh. He had made his senior debut across formats in the 2024-25 season.

IPL 2026: Praful Hinge takes four wickets as RR collapse to 40/5 against SRH

Sunrisers Hyderabad unearthed a new star as pacer Praful Hinge ripped through the Rajasthan Royals’ top order on his debut. The 24-year-old made history by becoming the first bowler to take three wickets in the opening over of an IPL match, dismantling RR’s batting line-up.

Hinge’s first victim was 15-year-old sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. With just his second ball of the innings, Hinge dismissed the dangerous youngster to give SRH a dream start. On the very next delivery, he removed Dhruv Jurel for his second wicket, before sending back Lhuan-dre Pretorius off the final ball of the over to complete a remarkable spell.

Rajasthan Royals were left reeling at 3/1 at the end of the first over, and things only got worse. In the second over, Yashasvi Jaiswal was dismissed by pacer Sakib Hussain, further denting the chase.

RR skipper Riyan Parag and Ravindra Jadeja attempted to rebuild with a few boundaries, but Parag was soon dismissed by Hinge, who claimed his fourth wicket.

At the end of the powerplay, Rajasthan Royals were struggling at 40/5 while chasing Sunrisers Hyderabad’s daunting target of 217 runs.

Ishan Kishan’s 91 powers SRH to 216

Earlier, Sunrisers Hyderabad posted a total of 216/6 in their 20 overs against Rajasthan Royals. The hosts had a slow start, but captain Ishan Kishan played a superb innings to guide them to a strong total.

Kishan scored a brilliant 91 off just 44 balls, smashing 8 fours and 6 sixes. He, along with Heinrich Klaasen, stitched together an 88-run partnership in just 39 balls to revive the innings after early setbacks, including the dismissals of Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head.

In the death overs, Nitish Kumar Reddy and Salil Arora provided a strong finish, helping SRH reach 216/6.

For RR, Jofra Archer was the pick of the bowlers with two wickets, while Parag and Sandeep Sharma claimed one wicket each.

“Abhishek knows the kind of medium we come from. Aishwarya is very close, so she knows the paps. Bachchanji also knows us inside out, but he is not that interactive with the paps. He hardly interacts, but Abhishek and Aishwarya do. Jayaji has not been able to gauge this medium to date. She is stuck in the traditional space where there are newspapers, journalists, etc. So she doesn’t understand the paparazzi medium. Sometimes it comes as a shock for her to see so many people shooting with their mobile phones,” he told Meri Saheli.

‘She says don’t come on me’

Reflecting further on Jaya Bachchan’s equation with photographers, Manglani said she is still adapting to the culture and has specific boundaries when it comes to being photographed.“Initially, she would ask where they came from and since they were not the media, why they clicked her photos. She is now getting used to it. Her only problem is not to get into her face. She says not to click her while walking. She always says, ‘Stand in one place, I will come, pose and leave, don’t come on me.’ She also slams anyone who clicks her at the wrong angle. She is slowly getting accustomed to it,” he added.
