Realme GT 7 Pro will be unveiled on November 4 in China. Earlier this week, the Chinese tech brand officially announced that it would come to Indian market shortly. Now, during its ‘The Dark Horse of AI’ event, the brand has revealed some AI-based features coming to the Realme GT 7 Pro. The phone is confirmed to have the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset under the hood and an in-display ultrasonic fingerprint sensor for authentication. It is teased to be available in three colourways in China. Realme UI 6.0 will launch along with the Realme GT 7 Pro.

Realme GT 7 Pro’s AI Features

While announcing its AI strategy at The Dark Horse of AI launch event, Realme offered a glimpse at the AI features of Realme GT 7 Pro. The brand states that the new handset with Realme’s UI 6.0 interface will offer a dynamic and enhanced interactive experience powered by AI integration and fluid design.

The Realme GT7 Pro will have an AI Sketch to Image feature to transform simple sketches into detailed pictures. The AI Motion Deblur technology and AI Telephoto Ultra Clarity are claimed to enhance the clarity of pictures. For gaming, the handset will get an AI Game Super Resolution feature for lifting in-game visuals to 1.5K resolution. Realme states that this will provide an improved immersive and responsive gaming experience while playing titles like PUBG, and Genshin Impact.

Meanwhile, Realme is teasing the design and colour options of Realme GT 7 Pro in China through Weibo. It is confirmed to be available in Mars Exploration Edition, Star Trail Titanium, and Light Domain White (translated from Chinese) shades.

Launch of Realme GT 7 Pro is scheduled for November 4 at 2pm local time (11:30am IST). It is already teased to flaunt Samsung Eco² OLED Plus display with 2,000 nits of global peak brightness, over 6,000 nits of local peak brightness, and a 120 percent DCI-P3 colour gamut coverage. The panel will have Dolby Vision and HDR10+ support and include an in-display ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. It will be the first handset in India to incorporate Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chip.

Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut was announced for PC in March, with the port arriving on Steam and Epic Games Store on May 16. Developers Nixxes Software have now revealed the system requirements for the title, along with details of cross-play, a new PlayStation overlay and Trophy support. The Sony-owned studio, which recently ported Horizon Forbidden West Complete edition to PC, said that the game will run well on older hardware, as well.

In a post on the PlayStation Blog Wednesday, Nixxes detailed the graphics presets, ranging from ‘Very Low’ to ‘Very High’, and matching hardware requirements for Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut on PC. It’s worth noting that the game will run on 8GB of RAM at its lowest setting, whereas Horizon Forbidden West on PC required at least 16GB of RAM to play across all graphical presents.

High-end Nvidia RTX 40 series or AMD 7000 series graphics cards will be required to run the game at 60 fps on ‘Very High’ settings with 4K resolution. Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut will take up 75GB of storage space, with Nixxes recommending SSD storage for ‘Medium’ and above graphical presents.

In addition to the system requirements, Nixxes also announced that the Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut port will be the first PlayStation title on PC that uses a new PlayStation overlay. The overlay essentially brings the PlayStation interface, familiar to players on PS4 and PS5, to PC. Once signed in through their PlayStation Network account, players can access their PlayStation Friends list, Trophies, Settings, and Profile on PC via the PlayStation interface.

In addition to full support for Achievements on Steam and the Epic Games Store, PC players will also be able to earn PlayStation Trophies just like on PS5 and PS4. Nixxes confirmed that Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut on PC will come with the same Trophy set as the PS5 version of the game. The PlayStation overlay, however, is an optional feature for both the single player campaign and Legends mode in the game. To bring up the PlayStation overlay, PC players can look for it in the in-game menu or press the “SHIFT +F1” shortcut on their keyboard while playing.

Further, Ghost of Tsushima on PC will support cross-play for the cooperative online multiplayer Legends mode, where Windows players will be able to team up and voice chat with PS4 and PS5 players.

Nixxes had previously confirmed when announcing the Ghost of Tsushima PC port that the game would be fully optimised for ultra-wide monitors, supporting 21:9, 32:9 and 48:9 resolutions, allowing for triple monitor set-ups.

Upscaling techniques like Nvidia DLSS 3, AMD FSR 3 and Intel XeSS are also supported to boost framerates. The image quality can be further enhanced with Nvidia DLAA or AMD FSR 3 Native AA. The port also comes with extensive controller support, including the PlayStation DualSense controller with support for haptic feedback and adaptive triggers.

Ghost of Tsushima was first released exclusively on the PS4 in 2020. The Director’s Cut version, which includes the Iki Island expansion, came out in 2021. The game is currently up for pre-order on Steam and Epic Games Store, priced at Rs. 3,999.

Smartphone shipments in India grew by 5.6 percent year on year (YoY) and the number of handsets shipped in the country rose to 46 million units, according to data from the International Data Corporation’s (IDC). Apple saw its market share rise to 8.6 percent, up from 5.7 percent in Q3 2023. Other smartphone makers that recorded an increase in market share include Vivo, Oppo, Motorola, and iQOO, while brands like Samsung, Realme, and OnePlus saw a decline in the same period.

Smartphone Companies Shipped 38 Million 5G Smartphones in Q3 2024

According to details from the IDC’s Worldwide Quarterly Mobile Phone Tracker, Apple recorded its highest quarterly shipment in India to date, with the iPhone maker shipping as many as 4 million units. Samsung’s share fell to 19 percent in Q3 2024, while Apple’s share rose to 71 percent YoY.

The Cupertino firm’s bestselling smartphone models were the iPhone 15 and the iPhone 13 — the latter was launched n 2021 and is no longer sold via Apple’s website in India. These handsets were also the highest shipped models via online channels. 

The share of 5G smartphones increased to 83 percent, which is considerably higher than 57 percent in Q3 2023. Among these, the shipments of budget 5G handsets nearly touched the 50 percent mark. Meanwhile, the average selling price of 5G smartphones fell 20 percent YoY to $292 (roughly Rs. 24,700).

On the other hand, the ASP of smartphones (overall) grew by 0.9 percent YoY up to $258 ((roughly Rs. 21,800). The midrange segment grew by 42 percent YoY, while the flagship segment rose from 2 percent in Q3 2023 to 4 percent in the previous quarter, an increase of 86 percent.

According to data provided by the IDC, the highest shipped smartphones with 5G connectivity in the previous quarter were the Redmi 13C, iPhone 15, Oppo K12x, Vivo T3x and Vivo Y28. Vivo’s lead ((in terms of growth) over its rivals remained unchallenged in Q3 2024, buoyed with models such as the Vivo T3 and Vivo V40 series, according to the report.

Microsoft is expected to unveil the Surface Laptop Go 3 and Surface Laptop Studio 2 at its “special event” in New York City on September 21. A new leak now suggests the design, price, and specifications of the upcoming devices. The Surface Laptop Studio 2 is said to come with a 14.4-inch screen, while the Surface Laptop Go 3 is tipped to get a 12.45-inch display. The former could be offered with up to Intel Core i7-13800H processor, whereas the Surface Laptop Go 3 is said to pack up to Intel Core i5-1235U SoC.

Tipster Roland Quandt (@rquandt) posted details about the Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 3 and Surface Laptop Studio 2 on Winfuture. As per the report, Microsoft will unveil the Surface Laptop Go 3 with a price tag of EUR 899 (roughly Rs. 76,000) for the variant with Intel Core i5-1235U SoC, 8GB of RAM and 256GB of SSD storage. It is expected to go on sale from October first week.

Microsoft’s Surface Laptop Studio 2 will reportedly come with a price tag of EUR 2,249 (roughly Rs. 1,99,300) for the base model with Intel Xe GPU, while the variant with RTX 4050, 16GB RAM, and 512GB SSD is said to cost EUR 2,729 (roughly Rs. 2,41,000). The model with 32GB RAM, 1TB SSD, and RTX 4060 could be priced at EUR 3,199 (roughly Rs. 2,83,500), whereas the 64GB RAM model could be priced at EUR 3,700 (roughly Rs. 3,27,000). It is said to be available from October 3.

Microsoft Surface Laptop Studio 2 specifications (expected)

The alleged renders of Surface Laptop Studio 2 suggest a new microSD card reader and a USB Type-A port on the device. The notebook is said to get a 14.4-inch PixelSense display with 1,600×2,400 pixels resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. It is said to come with Intel’s Raptor Lake-H chips. The notebook is expected to come equipped with either an Intel Core i7-13700H or an Intel Core i7-13800H processor.

The Microsoft Laptop Studio 2 is said to be offered in 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB LPDDR5X RAM options. The variant with Intel Core i7-13700H processor is said to come paired with Nvidia GeForce RTX 4050 GPU with GDDR6 memory. The Intel Core i7-13800H variant could pack Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 4060 GPU and 8GB memory. The basic version of the Surface Laptop Studio 2 will feature the Iris Xe GPU included in the Intel SoC. Further, it will reportedly have 512GB SSD as base storage. It will go up to 1TB and 2TB SSD storage in different markets. It is tipped to house a 58Whr battery that is said to deliver up to 19 hours of playtime.

Specifications of the Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 3 are said to be almost identical to its predecessor Surface Laptop Go 2. The alleged images indicate a familiar design as well. The upcoming model will reportedly run on a 12th-generation Intel Core i5-1235U CPU. It is said to feature a 12.45-inch PixelSense touchscreen. The basic model of the notebook is tipped to pack 8GB of RAM and 256GB of onboard storage. It might feature a 5,403mAh battery.

Samsung India has added an interesting feature to let users of its Galaxy devices track their medications on a regular basis. The feature works just like Apple’s Medications feature in its Health app, but comes with some added features thanks to Samsung’s collaboration with Tata’s 1mg healthcare platform. This lets users not only track the medications they consume on a daily basis by logging daily intake, but also learn about the drugs as well. Samsung claims that the new feature is a result of a collaborative effort between its R & D, Design and Consumer Experience teams.

Medication Tracking will be available to users who have the Samsung Health app installed on their Galaxy devices, be it a smartphone or a tablet. Once a user enters a particular medication into the Health app, the new feature will provide users with detailed information about the drug being consumed. This data comes from Tata’s 1mg service which Samsung claims provides evidence-based content for the app and its users.

The connection basically provides users of the Samsung Health app detailed information about the contents of the drug along with details about its possible side effects. The feature will also display information on “adverse reactions from drug-to-drug interactions and other relevant safety guidance”.

As usual, users can set up reminders for taking the medication prescribed by a general practitioner or specialist on a daily or weekly basis. Additionally, the app will now also remind them about refilling their medication as well.

Naturally, the app also connects to Samsung’s Galaxy Wearables and will relay similar notifications to the user directly in case their smartphone or tablet is not with them. According to Samsung, alerts can also be “fine-tuned” to the needs of the user with reminders ranging from “gentle” to “strong”.

Users who already have the Samsung Health app installed on their smartphones will receive an update notification which will receive the new Medication Tracking feature upon installation. The feature requires a smartphone with Android 10.0 or later and Samsung Health app version 6.28 or later installed in order to receive the update and start logging medications. While the Health app can be installed and run on any Android powered device, you will require a Samsung account to get it up and running along with a Galaxy Watch to take advantage of the reminders.
