Moto G05 and Moto G15 are expected to arrive as successors to the Moto G04 and the Moto G14. A report has shared some key details about both phones, their possible launch timeline, and expected price. Recently, the Moto G15 was also reportedly spotted on Geekbench. Motorola could reveal a launch date soon. More information about the purported smartphones, including display, camera and battery specifications, is expected to surface online closer to the launch. 

Moto G05, Moto G15 Launch Timeline, Price (Expected)

The Moto G05 and the Moto G15 are said to launch in Europe in November, according to a 91Mobiles report, in collaboration with Sudhanshu Ambhore (@Sudhanshu1414). As per the report, the price for the Moto G05 will likely start at EUR 140 (roughly Rs. 12,400) for the 4GB + 128GB option, while the 4GB + 256GB variant could be priced at EUR 170 (roughly Rs. 15,500).

Meanwhile, the report suggests that the Moto G15 could be priced at EUR 200 (roughly Rs. 18,200) for the 8GB + 256GB configuration.

Notably, the Moto G05 was priced at Rs. 6,999 for the 4GB + 64GB option in India, while the Moto G14 debuted at Rs. 9,999 for the sole 4GB + 128GB version.

The Moto G15 was reportedly also spotted on Geekbench with 340 and 1,311 scores on single-core and multi-core tests. As per the report, the phone was listed with an octa-core SoC paired with Mali-G52 MC2 GPU and 4GB of RAM. The name of the chipset is not yet known. It runs on Android 15, according to the said listing. 

Notably, the Moto G14 with a Unisoc T616 SoC and 8GB of RAM reportedly scored 447 and 1,577 points on the single and multi-core tests, respectively. The phone ships with Android 13-based MyUX.  It sports a 6.5-inch full-HD+ LCD screen, a 50-megapixel dual rear camera unit, and an 8-megapixel selfie shooter. It is backed by a 5,000mAh battery with 20W TurboPower charging support.

Microsoft unveiled Copilot+ PCs, a new class of Windows PCs powered by artificial intelligence (AI) at its Surface and AI event on Monday. Calling it “the fastest, most intelligent Windows PCs ever built”, the Windows maker highlighted that these computers will feature a special chipset capable of more than 40 trillion operations per second (TOPS). Further, these PCs will also offer new AI features such as Recall and Cocreate, as well as integration of third-party apps leveraging AI such as Adobe and CapCut.

Copilot+ PCs are part of Microsoft’s AI PC vision and are essentially PC operating systems that allow OEMs to bring out the full potential of the hardware in place to support AI features. This class of PCs will come with specific hardware requirements. In its announcement post, the Windows maker revealed that Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP, Lenovo, and Samsung have all partnered to launch Copilot+ PCs starting June 18. Microsoft will also introduce new Surface devices under this class.

So, what is new with Copilot+ PCs? Microsoft said these devices will get a new AI-powered Recall feature. Recall lets users visually check their usage history. Users will be able to scroll through a toggle bar to chronologically sift through their timeline as files, folders, and websites appear underneath in a preview box. The company said, “Copilot+ PCs organise information like we do – based on relationships and associations unique to each of our individual experiences.”

Another new feature is Cocreate, a tool for digital art creators, that is available within Paint and Photos. In Paint, as the user draws an image, the AI will also generate a visually similar image taking cues from the user. The user can go to the AI-drawn image and refine it with text prompts.

In Photos, users can restyle and edit images with AI. Apart from this, Microsoft is also collaborating with third-party apps such as Adobe, CapCut, DaVinci Resolve Studio, Cephable, LiquidText, and more to integrate AI features. Microsoft will also offer access to Copilot, Live Captions, and other AI features announced previously, in these computer systems.

Microsoft also revealed a range of new Copilot+ PCs that will soon be launched to the public. These include Acer’s Swift 14 AI, Asus Vivobook S 15, Dell’s XPS 13, Inspiron 14 Plus, Inspiron 14, Latitude 7455, and Latitude 5455, HP’s OmniBook X AI PC and EliteBook Ultra G1q AI PC, and Lenovo’s Yoga Slim 7x. Samsung’s Galaxy Book 4 Edge, which will be launched on June 18, will also be classified as a Copilot+ PC.

Microsoft also introduced new consumer-focused Surface Pro and Surface Laptop, which will become the company’s first-ever Copilot+ PCs. These will also be launched on June 18.

A study by the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility (ESRF) suggests that early Homo species may have experienced extended childhoods well before significant brain enlargement, challenging longstanding evolutionary assumptions. The findings are based on the dental development of a nearly complete sub-adult Homo skull, unearthed at the Dmanisi site in Georgia and dated to 1.77 million years ago. The ESRF team, collaborating with the University of Zurich and the Georgian National Museum, utilised advanced synchrotron imaging to study the specimen’s teeth, providing unprecedented insight into the growth patterns of early humans.

Dental Growth as a Key to Evolution

The research examined dental microstructures, which, like tree rings, record daily growth, thus offering insight into overall physical development. Christoph Zollikofer, the study’s lead author from the University of Zurich, explains that teeth fossilise well and serve as a reliable record of childhood growth. According to Paul Tafforeau of ESRF, who co-authored the study, dental development often correlates with broader bodily growth, including brain development.

Analyses revealed a unique pattern in which back teeth matured more slowly than front teeth in the specimen’s first five years. This pattern, combined with an observed reliance on adult caregivers, supports a hypothesis that early Homo juveniles may have been dependent on adults for extended periods, like modern humans.

Implications for the “Big Brain-Long Childhood” Hypothesis

The discovery could reshape how the “big brain-long childhood” hypothesis is understood. Previous theories held that prolonged childhoods evolved primarily due to increases in brain size. Yet, this Dmanisi specimen, while having a smaller brain comparable to great apes, showed evidence of prolonged support by older group members, possibly indicating that communal care, rather than brain size, was the initial driver of extended development.

David Lordkipanidze of the Georgian National Museum observed that one older Dmanisi individual survived toothless, implying social structures where knowledge was passed across generations. This evolutionary framework suggests that the extended childhood emerged first, enabling cultural transmission, which subsequently favoured brain growth and delayed maturation.

The findings, published in Nature, indicate that the gradual evolution of extended childhoods may have played a foundational role in early human development and social cohesion.

Assassin’s Creed Red’s female protagonist has seemingly leaked online. As per Eurogamer, Ubisoft writer Pierre Boudreau inadvertently set his LinkedIn header image to feature the unnamed lead, who is seen wearing the iconic hooded cloak against a red background, while wielding a katana. The original photo featuring the signature logo has since been replaced with an image of Eivor, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s protagonist. This aligns with the studio’s own claims from a 2022 presentation, where it confirmed that players will be sent into feudal Japan for its upcoming instalment, which is said to revisit open-world RPG elements.

Currently, Assassin’s Creed Codename Red does not have a release date, though a 2024 window was rumoured earlier this year, which goes in line with Ubisoft’s annual launch cycle formula. An InsiderGaming report further revealed that the game will feature two lead characters — the aforementioned female shinobi and an African refugee-turned-samurai, who seems to be inspired by the real-life Yasuke, who was active during the Sengoku Period in Japan. It’s unclear how these two characters will co-exist in the game — as for whether we get to play as both or simply pick either one at the start, akin to Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, remains to be seen. Despite, returning to the controversial open-world style, it appears that Assassin’s Creed Red will be heavy on stealth, as players hide in shadows and extinguish torches from afar.

Ubisoft Quebec — known for developing Assassin’s Creed Odyssey — is tasked with creating Assassin’s Creed Red under Jonathan Dumont’s direction. It is part of the publisher’s upcoming central hub called Assassin’s Creed Infinity, which is designed to tie in a bunch of different AC titles together, with plans for some standalone multiplayer experiences in the future. “Infinity is going to be a hub that will unite all of our different experiences and our players together in meaningful ways,” Marc-Alexis Côté, VP, Assassin’s Creed, said at the 2022 Ubisoft Forward event. At the time, Ubisoft also confirmed a dark entry to the AC franchise, codenamed Hexe, which was set during the latter stages of the Holy Roman Empire, amidst the witch trials. A teaser for the same was also dropped, which revealed a talisman in the forest, shaped like the Assassin’s Creed logo.

Earlier this month, the publisher launched Assassin’s Creed Mirage, which became Ubisoft’s biggest new-gen launch in terms of unit sales, in under a week. In that time, players collectively took 60 million leaps of faith and spent 479 years parkouring the rooftops of ninth-century Baghdad. We also got a launch date for the long-gestating Assassin’s Creed VR project, called Nexus, which will play out from perspectives of three iconic assassins from the series — Ezio Auditore, Connor Kenway, and Kassandra. The game is now available to pre-order on the Meta Quest VR and launches November 16.

Currently, there is no release window for Assassin’s Creed Red, but when it does come out, we can expect it to launch on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S/X.
