Samsung One UI 7 May Let Users Manually Disable Thermal Throttling to Improve Gaming Performance


Samsung announced its latest Android 15-based operating system (OS) dubbed One UI 7 last month. Recent suggestions indicate that the update is expected to be available in beta later this month. A tipster now suggests that One UI 7 update might include a new option that would let users manually disable thermal throttling — a feature that is embedded in the OS to prevent damage to the smartphone’s internal components and improve its lifespan.

Disabling Thermal Throttling on One UI 7

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), tipster @chunvn8888 shared the discovery of a feature hidden inside the Developer Options in One UI 7 called Disable Thermal Throttling. As the name suggests, it is speculated to give users manual control over thermal throttling—a safety feature in smartphones that automatically slows down the processor and other internal components to prevent damage due to excessive heating.

The upcoming One UI 7 feature might enable users to bypass this safeguard, which, while increasing the potential risk to the smartphone’s internal components, could also boost gaming performance with higher frames per second (fps) and reduced lag.

Notably, a similar feature was discovered in the initial versions of One UI 6 which required access to Samsung Device Health Manager Service via a third-party app. However, it was reportedly removed in later OS versions.

One UI 7 Release Date, Features

Samsung has not revealed the roadmap for the release of One UI 7. However, the South Korean technology conglomerate has confirmed that the beta version of its latest OS will be available to all users and not just registered developers. Users will be notified via the Samsung Members app when the rollout begins.

According to Samsung, its Android 15-based One UI 7 update incorporates three core goals: Purposeful simplicity, signature impression, and emotional attachment. The OS is claimed to have been designed to understand the user’s intentions and minimise the complexity. It will still retain some of the signature design elements of Samsung’s Android skin that have been familiar to Galaxy users for years.

Infinix ZeroBook Ultra AI PC Set to Launch in India on June 27: Expected Specifications


Infinix ZeroBook Ultra will launch in India next week, the company confirmed on Wednesday. It will be Infinix’s second product launch this month and will closely follow the introduction of the Note 40 smartphone, which is scheduled to take place on June 21. Teasing an “era of AI PCs”, Infinix says its upcoming laptop will boast generative artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities and Intel AI Boost technology, helping it cater to the rising demands of AI PCs in the country.

Infinix ZeroBook Ultra specifications (expected)

The Infinix ZeroBook Ultra AI PC is expected to feature a 15.6-inch full-HD display with 100 percent sRGB colour gamut coverage. It will sport a quad-speaker setup with support for DTS sound processing technology for clearer audio. Powering the laptop will be an Intel Core Ultra processor based on Intel Meteor Lake – a 64-bit CPU with an x86 CPU architecture. It will be paired with an in-built neural processing unit (NPU) called Intel AI Boost for accelerated performance. As per the company, this NPU is capable of handling larger datasets while maintaining fast processing speeds.

The AI PC will also feature an Intel ARC integrated GPU with Ray Tracing and XE SS Frame Acceleration that is said to carry out generative AI tasks up to 70 percent faster. It is expected to have 32GB DDR5 RAM and up to 1TB SSD storage. Infinix says the ZeroBook Ultra will also feature an OverBoost Switch that will boost the laptop’s performance for a brief period to handle extremely demanding tasks.

Backing the Infinix ZeroBook Ultra is expected to be a 70Wh battery with support for 100W fast charging. While no details about its pricing have been revealed, the laptop is expected to be available on Flipkart.

Microsoft has announced a partnership with Suno to bring its AI-powered music creation capabilities to Copilot. With the Suno plugin, Microsoft Copilot users will be able to create personalized songs with the help of prompts. The song creation feature follows a host of new AI-driven enhancements to Microsoft Copilot. Announced in September, the Copilot AI companion rebrands the company’s AI services, including the Bing Chat AI chatbot, under a single umbrella.

In a blog post published Tuesday, Microsoft said that the Suno plugin would bring the ability to generate complete songs, with lyrics, instrumentals, and vocals, from a single sentence. Copilot users don’t need to have musical knowledge to start creating songs on the AI assistant. According to Microsoft, Suno will match the song to the cues present in the prompt to generate a full song.

To enable Suno on Microsoft Copilot, users can head to copilot.microsoft.com while signed into their Microsoft account, toggle on the Suno plugin or click on the Suno logo that says, “Make music with Suno.” Users can then use prompts to specify genre and theme to create the song they want.

According to the blog, the Suno plugin for Microsoft Copilot has started rolling out to some users and will be available widely in the coming weeks.

Earlier this month, Microsoft announced new upcoming copilot features to mark a year of the AI chatbot. Copilot will soon get OpenAI’s latest model, GPT-4 Turbo, which will enable it to perform more complex and longer tasks. Additionally, Copilot is also getting the new DALL-E 3 model for image generation, that will allow it to create richer images that better reflect user prompts.

Back in September, a Windows 11 update integrated Copilot to Microsoft’s operating system. In addition to integrating the chatbot into Windows 11, Microsoft also updated the MS Paint app with support for layers and graphics generation. The screenshotting app Snipping Tool also received AI-based features like text extraction and redaction.

It began when he received a notice from the Telangana government ahead of his Hyderabad concert directing him to not sing songs promoting alcohol, violence and drugs. The singer adhered to the instruction and tweaked words from some of his songs. He addressed the matter during his Ahmedabad concert which was held after the Hyderabad concert. At the concert, he batted for all and every alcohol shops to shut down. He also said that he has 2-4 songs with mentions of alcohol and has also produced devotional songs which no one talks about. In an video posted on his Instagram handle, Diljit is seen addressing his audience at the concert. “Kaafi dino se media mai baatein chal rahi hai ki Diljit vs this and that. Mai clear karna chahta hu ki Diljit vs kuch nahi hai. Mai sabse bahut yaar karta hu. Mera kisi ke saath muqabla hnahi hai. (From the past few days, the media has been saying `Diljit vs this and that. I would like to clear that there is no competition with anyone. I only have love for all),” he said. 

He further spoke about a TV news anchor who allegedly posed him a challenge on national television. “Ek anchor saab hai TV par. Unke baare mai zaroor baat karna chahte hu. Wo parso meko challenge de rahe the ki Diljit sharaab ke bina gaana hit karke dikhaye. For your kind information sir- Born To Shine, GOAT, Lover, Kini Kini. Naina in Bollywood, mere bahut saare gaane hai jo Patiala Peg se jyada stream karte hai Spotify par. Toh aapka challenge hai woh already bekaar ho gaya hai. (There is an anchor on TV who challenged me to make a hit song without mentioning alcohol. I have many songs that stream more than Patiala Peg on Spotify. So this challenge does not hold),” he said at the Lucknown leg of the Dil-Luminati tour. 

Diljit bats for same censorship for movies and songs

He said, “Main apne gaano aur apne aap ko defend nahi kar raha. Agar aap censorship lagana chahte ho gaano par, toh woh bhartiya cinema par bhi hona chahiye. Bhartiya cinema mai jitne badi gun ,utna bada hero.  Kaunsa bada actor hai jisne sharaab ka scene ya gaana nahi kiya ho?”

Jiss din waha censorship laga ye, mai band kardunga ussi din,” he said adding, “Kalakaar aapko soft target lagta hai isliye aap unko cheddte ho. FYI, maine jo filmein ki hai unko National Award bhi mila hai. Humara kaam sasta kaam nahi hai. (I will stop the day censorship is applied in movies. Artists are soft targets and hence you play with them. I have also done films which have won National Awards).”

Diljit added that the news anchor spread fake news about him but he is not angry. “Ye aapki zimmedari hai ki aap sahi news failaaye. Toh mai bhi aapko challenge karta hu ki sahi news dikhaye,” he concluded challenging the news anchor.

What to expect from Blue Box Episode 9?

So far, Taiki has been positively looking forward despite the crushing defeats, which highlighted his shortcomings, on the way to transforming his national tournament aspirations into a reality. By the end of Episode 8, “Score,” his innate defeated thoughts ultimately get the better of him. His emotional breakdown causes him to physically distance himself from the scene, even from Chinatsu. The upcoming episode will likely dig into how Taiki will push through this pain and continue focussing on the journey ahead.

Lenovo Yoga Pro 7i was launched in India on Thursday. The laptop boasts specifications such as up to an Intel Core Ultra 7 Processor and Nvidia GeForce RTX 4050 GPU. The company launched the laptop globally in March, aimed at multi-tasking content creators, and the model has now been introduced in India. The Yoga Pro 7i features a 14.5-inch OLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and delivers artificial intelligence (AI) features that can be invoked via a dedicated Copilot key.

Lenovo Yoga Pro 7i price in India starts at Rs. 1,49,999. It is available for purchase via the official Lenovo website. The laptop comes bundled with Microsoft Office Home and Student 2021 Edition.

The laptop sports a 14.5-inch OLED screen with 120Hz refresh rate and 2.8K resolution. The screen supports Dolby Vision content and is VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 certified for improved HDR colour reproduction. It has an aluminium chassis and a backlit keyboard.

Under the hood, the laptop is powered the Intel Core Ultra 7 155H processor. The chipset is paired with 16GB LPDDR5x dual-channel RAM which is soldered onto the motherboard, and 1TB PCIe Gen 4 NVMe SSD storage. For graphics, the Yoga Pro 7i boasts of Nvidia GeForce RTX 4050 GPU with 6GB DDR6 VRAM. It runs on Windows 11 Home.

For multimedia consumption, there’s a quad-speaker setup onboard with support for Dolby Atmos and an HD Audio chip. It also gets a quad-mic array as well as a full-HD 1080p IR camera with a depth sensor and Windows Hello support, along with an E-shutter.

The Lenovo Yoga Pro 7i offers Bluetooth 5.3 and Wi-Fi 6E connectivity and is equipped with a USB Type-A Gen 3.1 port, a USB Type-C Gen 3.2 port, a USB Type-C Thunderbolt 4 port, an HDMI 2.1 port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.  It measures 325.5×226.49×16.6mm and weighs 1.59kg.
