Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro have been on sale in China since the end of October, and they are expected to be available in other global markets soon. Xiaomi has not announced anything regarding a global launch, but ahead of that, the vanilla model has reportedly appeared on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification website, indicating imminent launch in India. The Xiaomi 15 features a 6.36-inch 1.5K OLED display and a Leica-tuned triple rear camera setup led by a 50-megapixel primary sensor. It runs on Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC and has an IP68 rated build.
As reported by 91Mobiles, the Xiaomi 15 has bagged certification from the BIS website with model number 24129PN74I. The “I” in the model number allegedly refers to the Indian variant. The screenshot of the listing shared by the publication suggests that the phone received the certification on Friday (November 22). It does not include any specifications.
The Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro debuted in China in October last year, and the India launch of the non-Pro model took place in March this year. Based on this, it is speculated that the Xiaomi 15 will break cover in March 2025 in India.

The vanilla Xiaomi 15 is priced at CNY 4,499 (roughly Rs. 52,000) for the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variant in China. The Indian variant is expected to come with the same price range and hardware as the China version.
Xiaomi 15 runs on HyperOS 2 interface based on Android 15 and features a 6.36-inch 8T LTPO display with a 1.5K resolution (1,200×2,670 pixels) with up to 120Hz refresh rate and 3,200nit peak brightness. It runs on Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC, with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and up to 1TB of UFS 4.0 onboard storage. It has a Leica-branded triple rear camera unit that includes a 50-megapixel Light Fusion 900 sensor, a 50-megapixel telephoto camera, and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide angle shooter. For selfies and video chats, it has a 32-megapixel front camera.
The Xiaomi 15 has an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor and supports a face unlock feature. It is IP68-rated for dust and water resistance. It houses a 5,400mAh battery with support for 90W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging.

New Delhi: The 55th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) 2024 witnessed a stellar opening with the screening of the film ‘Swatantra Veer Savarkar,’ a historical drama which is directed by and starring Randeep Hooda in the titular role, the movie also features Jay Patel as Shyamji Krishna Varma, a revolutionary who played a pivotal role in India’s struggle for independence.

Microsoft has reportedly blocked several keywords from its artificial intelligence (AI)-powered Copilot Designer that could be used to generate explicit images of violent and sexual nature. Keyword blocking exercise was conducted by the tech giant after one of its engineers wrote to the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and the Microsoft board of directors expressing concerns over the AI tool. Notably, in January 2024, AI-generated explicit deepfakes of musician Taylor Swift emerged online and were said to be created using Copilot.
First spotted by CNBC, terms such as “Pro Choice”, “Pro Choce” (with an intentional typo to trick the AI), and “Four Twenty”, which previously showed results are now blocked by Copilot. Using these or similar banned keywords also triggers a warning by the AI tool which says, “This prompt has been blocked. Our system automatically flagged this prompt because it may conflict with our content policy. More policy violations may lead to automatic suspension of your access. If you think this is a mistake, please report it to help us improve.” We, at Gadgets 360, were also able to confirm this.
A Microsoft spokesperson told CNBC, “We are continuously monitoring, making adjustments and putting additional controls in place to further strengthen our safety filters and mitigate misuse of the system.” This solution has stopped the AI tool from accepting certain prompts, however, social engineers, hackers, and bad actors might be able to find loopholes to generate other such keywords.
According to a separate CNBC report, all of these highlighted prompts were shown by Shane Jones, a Microsoft engineer, who wrote a letter to both FTC and the company’s board of directors expressing his concerns with the DALL-E 3-powered AI tool last week. Jones has reportedly been actively sharing his concerns and findings of the AI generating inappropriate images since December 2023 with the company through internal channels.
Later, he even made a public post on LinkedIn to ask OpenAI to take down the latest iteration of DALL-E for investigation. However, he was allegedly asked by Microsoft to remove the post. The engineer had also reached out to US senators and met them regarding the issue.

One UI 7 — Samsung’s upcoming Android 15-based software update for eligible smartphones — is expected to arrive a few months after its competitors. While OnePlus and Oppo have already begun to roll out their Android 15 updates for flagship models, Samsung has yet to announce when it will roll out the One UI 7 beta to testers. A tipster has now leaked the purported launch timeline of the Android 15 beta and stable updates for Samsung’s Galaxy S-series smartphones.

Citing sources at Samsung, X (formerly Twitter) user NMPS (@FamilyTaes) claims that the One UI 7 beta programme could begin by next month. A post shared on the platform states that Samsung will release the One UI 7 beta for the Galaxy S24 series — that includes the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra — in the first week of December.

While Samsung Galaxy S24 series owners might not have to wait long to begin testing the One Ui 7 update, owners of the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+ and Galaxy S23 Ultra will have to wait for at “least 2-3 weeks”, according to the tipster.
The tipster says that the One UI 7 beta programme is expected to run for a two-month period. Meanwhile, the stable version of One UI 7 is not expected to be rolled out in February. As a result, the Galaxy S25 series that is expected to launch in January could be the only handsets from the company to run on the latest version of One UI until the update is rolled out to older models a month later.
Samsung is also expected to roll out the One UI 7 update to several other eligible Galaxy A-series, M-series, and F-series smartphones. According to another user on X, over 50 models are expected to receive an update to One UI 70. The counterprogramming of Barbie and Oppenheimer in July 2023 hit a nerve culturally and had the receipts to back it up. Unlike so many things that begin as memes, it transcended its online beginnings. Instead of an either-or, the two movies ultimately complemented and boosted one another at the box office.
Ever since, moviegoers, marketers, and meme makers have been trying to recreate that moment, searching the movie release schedule for odd mashups and sending candidates off into the social media void. Most attempts have fizzled (sorry, Saw Patrol).
This weekend is perhaps the closest approximation yet as the Broadway musical adaptation Wicked opens Friday against the chest-thumping sword-and-sandals epic Gladiator II. Two big studio releases (Universal and Paramount), with one-name titles, opposite tones and aesthetics and big blockbuster energy — it was already halfway there before the name game began: Wickiator, Wadiator, Gladwick and even the eyebrow raising Gladicked have all been suggested.
What is Glicked?
“Glicked rolls off the tongue a little bit more,” actor Fred Hechinger said at the New York screening of Gladiator II this week. “I think we should all band around Glicked. It gets too confusing if you have four or five different names for it.”
As with Barbenheimer, as reductive as it might seem, Glicked also has the male/female divide that make the fan art extra silly. One is pink and bright and awash in sparkles, tulle, Broadway bangers and brand tie-ins; The other is all sweat and sand, blood and bulging muscles.
Both films topped Fandango’s most anticipated holiday movie survey, where 65% of respondents said that they were interested in the Glicked double feature. Theaters big and small are also pulling out the stops with movie-themed tie-ins. B&B Theaters will have Roman guards tearing tickets at some locations and Maximus popcorn tubs. Marcus Theaters is doing Oz photo ops and friendship bracelet-making. Alamo Drafthouse is leaning into the singalong aspect (beware, though, not all theaters are embracing this) and the punny drinks like “Defying Gravi-Tea.”
“Rather than it being in competition, I think they’re in conversation,” Gladiator II star Paul Mescal said. “This industry needs a shot in the arm. Those films gave it last year. We hope to do it this year.”
Can Glicked by this year’s Barbenheimer?
And the hope is that audiences will flock to theaters to be part of this moment as well. It’s a sorely needed influx of could-be blockbusters into a marketplace that’s still at an 11% deficit from last year and down 27.2% from 2019, according to data from Comscore.
“Competition is good for the marketplace. It’s good for consumers,” said Michael O’Leary, the president and CEO of the National Association of Theatre Owners. “Having two great movies coming out at the same time is simply a multiplier effect.”
Glicked is currently tracking for a combined North American debut in the $165 million range, with Wicked forecast to earn around $100 million (up from the $80 million estimates a few weeks ago) and Gladiator II pegged for the $65 million range.
Barbenheimer shattered its projections last July. Going into that weekend, Barbie had been pegged for $90 million and Oppenheimer around $40 million. Ultimately, they brought in a combined $244 million in that first outing, and nearly $2.4 billion by the end of their runs.
It’s possible Glicked will exceed expectations, too. And it has the advantage of another behemoth coming close behind: Moana 2, which opens just five days later on the Wednesday before the Thanksgiving holiday. Glickedana triple feature anyone?
“These are 10 important days,” O’Leary said. “It’s going to show the moviegoing audience that there’s a lot of compelling stuff out there for them to see.”
There are infinite caveats to the imperfect comparison to “Barbenheimer,” as well. Wicked is a “Part One.” Musicals carry their own baggage with moviegoers, even those based on wildly successful productions (ahem, Cats). Gladiator II got a head start and opened internationally last weekend. In fact, in the U.K. it played alongside Paddington in Peru, where that double was pegged Gladdington. Gladiator reviews, while positive, are a little more divided than the others. And neither directors Ridley Scott nor Jon M. Chu has the built-in box office cache that Christopher Nolan’s name alone carries at the moment.
The new films also cost more than Barbie ($145 million) and Oppenheimer ($100 million). According to reports, Gladiator II had a $250 million price tag; Wicked reportedly cost $150 million to produce (and that does not include the cost of the second film, due next year).
The narrative, though, has shifted away from “who will win the weekend.” Earlier this year, Chu told The Associated Press that he loves that this is a moment where “we can root for all movies all the time.”
More Barbenheimers to come
Close behind are a bevvy of Christmas releases with double-feature potential, but those feel a little more niche. There’s the remake of Nosferatu, the Nicole Kidman kink pic Babygirl, and the Bob Dylan biopic A Complete Unknown. The internet can’t even seem to decide on its angle for that batch of contenders, and none exactly screams blockbuster. Sometimes the joy is just in the game, however. Some are sticking with the one-name mashup (Babyratu); others are suggesting that the fact that two of the movies feature real-life exes (Timothée Chalamet and Lily-Rose Depp) is enough reason for a double feature. And getting people talking is half the battle.
When in doubt, or lacking a catchy name, there’s always the default: “This is my Barbenheimer.”

U.S. prosecutors have charged Gautam Adani, one of the world’s richest people, and seven other people with paying $265 million in bribes to Indian government officials for contracts, including to develop the country’s largest solar power plant.
Adani Group has said the accusations are “baseless” and that it will seek “all possible legal recourse”.
Shares of Indian state-owned banks fell 2.7% on Thursday over worries about the extent of their exposure to the ports-to-power conglomerate that spans about 10 listed companies in all.
However, JPMorgan analysts said Indian banks’ exposure to the group was around 0.3% of outstanding loans as of March and that the loans were backed by asset cover.
“We don’t see major credit risk as the underlying companies are not implicated,” the Wall Street brokerage said in a note. Moreover, Indian banks’ exposure to Adani Green, which is at the centre of the allegations, is “materially lower” at just six basis points of banking system credit as of September, JPMorgan said.
“We do not see any systemic risk to Indian financials from a potential credit event in Adani Green, given the low exposure, asset cover, improving operating performance of the broader Adani Group and the capital and standard asset buffers at banks,” the investment bank said.
While credit risk to banks may be contained, sources told Reuters that global and local banks may now limit fresh funding.
Four local bankers that Reuters spoke to said they would take a wait-and-watch approach and that any fresh funds would likely be at higher interest rates due to the increased risks.
“Loan pricing is expected to go up, but we will wait and watch for at least 3-4 months before we initiate any fresh funding request,” said an official at a private lender that has exposure to the Adani group.
The lender’s internal assessment shows the Adani group has the ability to repay loans and their cash flows remain strong, the banker said, asking not to be identified as he is not authorised to speak with the media.

WhatsApp for Windows reportedly has a vulnerability that can be exploited by bad actors. The security flaw exploits executable files of Python and PHP for which the app does not send a warning, claimed the report. As a result, an unsuspecting user might accidentally save and run the file, allowing the attacker to deploy the payload. WhatsApp reportedly has refused to take any action citing the problem is not at their end, and that it already warns users to not download files from unknown senders.
WhatsApp for Windows Reportedly Has a Security Flaw
According to a report by Bleeping Computer, the vulnerability was found in the latest version of the WhatsApp for Windows app. It is said to allow users to send Python and PHP attachments in executable format. The files, when being downloaded at the recipient’s end, does not result in a warning notification from the instant messaging platform.
The security flaw was discovered by cybersecurity firm Zeron’s security researcher Saumyajeet Das. As per the report, WhatsApp in most cases does not allow launching potentially harmful files such as .EXE. While the user may see options of Open or Save As, clicking on Open generates an error. The user may still save the file on the device and launch it, but the warning acts as a reminder of the malicious nature of the file. This behaviour is said to be consistent for file formats such as .EXE, .COM, .SCR, .BAT, and Perl.
However, the researcher reportedly found that three file types — .PYZ (Python ZIP app), .PYZW (PyInstaller program), and .EVTX (Windows event Log file) — did not trigger the error warning and users can open the file and launch them directly from within the app. Further, the publication found the same exception existed for PHP files.
Notably, an attack conducted using these file types will not be successful unless the user has Python installed in their system. This reduces vulnerable users to software developers, researchers, and others who code on their system.
The publication claims that Das reported the issue via Meta’s bug bounty programme on June 3. But on July 15, the company replied that the same issue was previously reported by another researcher. The issue is still not fixed, as per the report, and it was said to be present in the latest WhatsApp for Windows 11 version v2.2428.10.0.
A WhatsApp spokesperson told the publication, “We’ve read what the researcher has proposed and appreciate their submission. Malware can take many different forms, including through downloadable files meant to trick a user. It’s why we warn users to never click on or open a file from somebody they don’t know, regardless of how they received it — whether over WhatsApp or any other app.”

It almost felt like my Mission Impossible moment. The stunt turned out well because I knew everyone was worried as there was no stunt double, it was just me and we had a long schedule of shoot left. But it went great and every body has been talking about that scene once they saw it in the trailer.”
