A federal judge on Wednesday sentenced Jasveen Sangha, the notorious drug dealer known as the “Ketamine Queen,” to 15 years in prison. She had pleaded guilty to selling actor Matthew Perry the ketamine that killed him in 2023. “You`re going to have to show some epic resilience,” Judge Sherilyn Peace Garnett said to Jasveen Sangha, as per AP.
Sangha admitted to playing a role in Perry`s death and her broader drug-dealing business. The judge gave the 42-year-old a sentence that will almost certainly be more than all four of her co-defendants combined.
The hearing on Wednesday in a Los Angeles courtroom was, in many ways, the pinnacle of the two-and-a-half-year investigation and prosecution that followed the overdose death of the 54-year-old actor. Just before she was sentenced, Sangha told the judge she wears her shame “like a jacket.” She added, “These were not mistakes. They were horrible decisions,” which “shattered people`s lives and the lives of their family and friends.”
Prosecutors secured the exact sentence they asked for after casting Sangha as a “Ketamine Queen” who had an elaborate drug operation catering to high-end clients to fund a jet-setting lifestyle.
About Matthew Perry’s death
Perry was found dead in the hot tub at his Los Angeles home in October 2023. The medical examiner ruled that ketamine, typically used as a surgical anesthetic, was the primary cause of death, with drowning as a secondary cause. Mark Geragos, Sangha`s attorney, said “pernicious” addiction was truly responsible for Perry`s death, not his client.
“There was nobody who was going to stop Mr Perry from doing what he was going to do,” Geragos said. In September, Sangha became the last of five co-defendants to plead guilty.
The American actor, who was raised in Canada, was known globally as Chandler Bing on the hit comedy series FRIENDS, which also starred Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, and David Schwimmer. Matthew also appeared in shows like Ally McBeal, The West Wing, and Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip.

Reflecting on the tournament, Bajaj said his aim was to demonstrate that Indian players can go head-to-head with the Europeans and come out on top. “We had one simple goal: To show that Indians belong at this level. As long as we get the right training and nutrition from an early age, we can not just compete with the Europeans, but also dominate them. Also, in every game, our opponents were about six-foot tall, whereas we had no boy taller than five-foot-eight inches. Yet, we physically dominated Liverpool,” said Bajaj, whose Minerva Academy boys also won the Gothia Cup (Sweden), Dana Cup (Denmark), and Norway Cup last year.
Bajaj’s ultimate aim is to provide Team India top-notch players, who can help the country qualify for the 2034 FIFA World Cup. “These U-15 boys along with their juniors are preparing for the 2034 World Cup and the 2036 Olympics. If we can become a top eight team in Asia, we can qualify for these two tournaments. We’ve been getting results in international events for a few years. This [MIC] was no flash in the pan. This means our processes are right,” concluded Bajaj.

Dhurandhar in the spotlight
Titled Dhurandhar The Revenge, the film is the sequel to the 2025 blockbuster Dhurandhar. The film was released worldwide on March 19. Apart from Ranveer, it also stars R Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, Sara Arjun, Gaurav Gera, and Arjun Rampal.
Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar was set in Lyari, Karachi, an area known for its history of gang wars and violent turf battles. It revolved around covert intelligence operations in the background of geopolitical and terror events like the Kandahar plane hijack, the 2001 Parliament Attack and the 26/11 Mumbai attacks.
The sequel delves into the origins of Ranveer Singh’s character, Hamza aka Jaskirat Singh Rangi, revealing the motivations behind his mission. It also takes the story forward, showing him taking control of the power dynamics in Lyari while working to dismantle a terror network in Pakistan that threatens India. The Aditya Dhar-directed film opened with earnings of ₹75 crore gross in paid previews, and minted ₹165 crore on release day. Till now, the film has surged past the ₹1040 crore mark at the domestic box office and minted over ₹1600 globally.
David Miller’s decision not to take a single against Gujarat Titans led to Delhi Capitals losing by one run on Wednesday in their IPL 2026 clash at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. His call has sparked a debate over whether he should have taken the single, bringing back memories of the iconic tied Test between India and Australia in 1986 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
On Day 5, with India needing two runs to win and one wicket in hand in a chase of 348, all three results were still possible. Ravi Shastri tapped off-spinner Greg Matthews to the leg side for a single, handing Maninder Singh the strike. But Matthews trapped Maninder lbw for a duck as India failed to get over the line.

On the same day that David Miller failed to steer Delhi Capitals home, a strikingly similar situation played out in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), but with a very different outcome. In the clash between Hyderabad Kingsmen and Peshawar Zalmi at the National Stadium in Karachi on Wednesday, Iftikhar Ahmed found himself in an almost identical scenario, with Zalmi needing two runs off the last two balls.
Unlike Miller, Iftikhar wisely took the single, allowing Aamer Jamal to finish the chase with another run and seal a four-wicket win for Zalmi. Iftikhar was later named Player of the Match for his all-round display, having scored a crucial 15 runs and claimed four wickets.

Editor’s Corner: Airtel’s strategic masterclass
Bharti Airtel Limited has become the world’s second largest telecom operator with over 650 million customers. I will explain the structure of this milestone in a moment, as it is imperative to first discuss the foundations with which Airtel has worked to get here.
The last few years (or for that matter, the last decade) have seen some of the most brutal price wars, especially after the entry of Reliance Jio into the telecom sector in 2016. Fighting in a market that often sets prices based on the lowest priced recharge options, while trying to maintain ARPU numbers, buying 5G spectrum and maintaining infrastructure investments is nothing short of a corporate strategic masterclass.
The rise of Airtel is due to its presence in India and the African continent. It is not possible that Airtel has won so much by aiming to be the “cheapest”. In fact, you have to consider reliability (in my experience, in 2020, 2021 and 2022, Airtel 4G and 5G mobile services. Fiber broadband and now 5G led wireless broadband services. DTH and now IPTV are connected with internet connection.
What next for Airtel? Of course, aiming for the throne of China Mobile, which has about 350 million more users than Airtel’s 650 million.
Critics may well say that Airtel is chasing a massive capex cycle. But the tech giants in Cupertino and Mountain View have proven that once you have a user base of 650 million active participants, it becomes much easier to solve the economics of everything else. Standalone 5G is on Airtel’s agenda. Also a financial services plan. Airtel is no longer just a telecom company. And this will be his trump card.
Tech Spotlight: Hisense Intelli Cool Pro
The times we live in warrant a “smart” element to home appliances. And this essentially means the convenience of connectivity with an app on the phone.
When Hisense, a brand that already has a very vibrant range of TVs (including Laser TVs and Mini LED TVs), suggested an experience with its 2026 edition Intelli Cool Pro residential air conditioning system, or RAC, there was some intrigue. The model I’m specifically referring to is a 1.5-ton split AC (the specific model is AS-18TW4RXSKG02), and its smartness suite goes far beyond a smartphone app (which itself is quite slick; I’ll get to that).
If you are looking to buy a smart split AC before summer, getting maximum long-term value for your money would be the ideal strategy.
I’ll start with the basics. This is a 3-star rated system and it costs so much ₹28,990. As per current AC pricing structures, this is a pretty good deal. Before you point out the fact that this is a 3-star system, not a 5-star system, and I must agree with you: Hisense should also have a 5-star version for living room and especially heavy bedroom use and consider it now.
That said, the 2026 edition IntelliCool Pro has AI (of course, it’s impossible to even sell a pen without AI these days), which builds in a number of functionalities, including a 5-in-1 convertible mode to significantly reduce power consumption. Regardless of the mode selected (depending on room size), Hisense has tuned it well enough to instantly cool a usually hot room on a summer afternoon and maintain it at the set temperature.
Basically, the powerful fan throw (and it’s very quiet) defines the cooling efficiency. The remote can be better configured to toggle eco modes (C1, C2, and C3). Some other AC manufacturers keep it simple – press the button to toggle between modes, with percentage figures to indicate capacity usage (40%, 60%, and so on). Additionally, Intelli Cool Pro does not remember these Eco Mode settings upon next power on. Nor does the remote remember certain clock settings.
To get started, you’ll need to download the ConnectLife app (it’s available for iPhone and Android devices) and follow the “Add Device” process to set up the IntelliCool Pro RAC. It will replicate the entire wireless remote functionality in the app, and its beautifully tuned interface is very useful and quite intuitive. Pay attention to the “Routine” option, as this is where you can configure the AC to perform automatic tasks such as time-based power on/off, or indoor temperature-based configuration. It is particularly interesting to configure the latter, if continuity of ambient comfort is the objective.
It also works with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant if you want voice control for the AC (it wouldn’t be wise to use Home for controls and ignore the neat ConnectLife app). For example, in Google’s Home app, look for the ‘+’ sign > select a device > link apps or services > search for ConnectLife.
Beyond the WiFi features, it is interesting to note that Hisense has designed a four-layer filter for air purification for the 2026 version of the Intelli Cool Pro AC – it consists of HEPA and activated carbon layers.
One thought that lingers long after it’s cooled off is that Hisense has understood the modern brief well. A room AC in 2026 will be judged not only by compressor tonnage, cooling efficiency (full marks to Hisense here too) and ease of use, but also by automation and smart controls. Hisense’s Intelli Cool Pro gets a lot of things going, with thoughtful app integration and strong core cooling performance at a price that’s certainly competitive. The 5-star version would make this lineup more complete, and is perhaps the next logical step. For now, a smart home gadget that’s smart for the right reasons.
Second thought: the big moment of credibility
A few days ago, CRED did a few things. In a first, introduction of biometric authentication for UPI payments up to Rs. ₹5,000 on their mobile app. Second, and more importantly, the Reserve Bank of India is giving final authorization to CRED (Dreamplug Paytech Solutions Pvt. Ltd.) to operate as a payment aggregator.
This development is important for fintech growth aspirations. This now means that CRED can onboard merchants, collect payments on various devices on their behalf and handle settlements and refunds. Fintech says in FY25, platforms handled payments of more than ₹8.5 lakh crore. A lot of this will be through UPI payments as well as something the app is famous for – handling credit card bills and settlements for millions of users.

Paying off those student loans and getting back to zero, I remember being like, Man, if this show works, great. If it doesn’t work, they can’t take that away from me. I am out of debt. No take-backsies on that.”
In the same interview, Patrick revealed that while waiting for his big break, he worked a large variety of jobs. “I was doing these seminars where they’d bring me into Blackrock and Blackstone and Goldman Sachs, and they would want to teach these young administrators how to have difficult conversations, à la how to fire somebody. They would bring me in as an actor so that these administrators could get practice firing someone. So I have been fired more than anyone you’ve ever met, I promise you. I’ve been fired thousands of times. And then the call for The Pitt came in, and everything was different,” he said.
All about The Pitt
Each season of The Pitt tells the story of a single day, a 15-hour shift, of the staff working in the emergency room of a Pittsburgh hospital. Noah Wyle stars as Dr Michael “Robby” Robinavitch, the attending physician. The ensemble cast also includes Tracy Ifeachor, Patrick Ball, Katherine LaNasa, Supriya Ganesh, Fiona Dourif, Taylor Dearden, Isa Briones, Gerran Howell, and Shabana Azeez. The show won five Emmys for its first season, including Outstanding Drama Series and Outstanding Casting. The second season is currently airing.
