The Sabarmati Report box office collection Day 5: Vikrant Massey starrer inches closer to Rs 10 crore mark

The political drama ‘The Sabarmati Report‘ is on track towards the Rs 10 crore mark at the box office.
The film starring Vikrant Massey in the lead earned an estimated Rs 1.25 crore on Tuesday, which was a marginal increase from Monday’s nett collections of Rs 1.15 crore, according to Sacnilk.com.
The film which had a promising debut weekend at the box office, earned an estimated Rs 6.35 crore in India nett. The film’s overall collections along with Tuesday’s numbers, push the total to an estimated Rs 8.75 crore nett.
The film’s performance aligns with a broader trend observed across Hindi releases, including ‘Singham Again’ and ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’, which also reported similar earnings on Tuesday.
However, the film now enjoys an advantage at the box office as it was declared tax-free in the BJP-ruled state of Madhya Pradesh. The announcement was made by the central Indian state’s CM Dr Mohan Yadav in Bhopal. “The events of the past have been presented factually in the film. The film is being made tax-free so that more and more people can watch it.”
“I too will watch the movie, which will also be watched by my ministers, MLAs and MPs. I hope this movie brings out the true reality of the black chapter of the past, which has largely been distorted due to vote bank politics,” Yadav added.
Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised ‘The Sabarmati Report’, describing it as a significant film on the 2002 Godhra train coach-burning incident. In a tweet, he wrote, “It is good that this truth is coming out, and that too in a way common people can see it. A fake narrative can persist only for a limited period of time. Eventually, the facts will always come out!”
