Karnataka Chief Minister Swearing-in LIVE: Large posters and cutouts of Karnataka Chief Minister-designate DK Shivakumar have been put up in front of the Vidhana Soudha ahead of the swearing-in ceremony of the new state government in Bengaluru.

Karnataka Chief Minister swearing in live: Congress’s DK Shivakumar will take oath as the Chief Minister of Karnataka along with 13 ministers at Lok Bhavan in Bengaluru at around 4 pm today. Siddaramaiah’s son Yathindra is also among the ministers sworn in in Shivakumar’s new cabinet, HT had earlier reported citing leaders familiar with the discussions.

This major political change has come after a long power struggle in Karnataka. The Congress came to power in the state in May 2023 and an arrangement was made whereby both contenders for the top post – Siddaramaiah and DK Shivakumar – had to split a five-year term to serve as the Chief Minister of Karnataka.

Who will take oath today?

An informed leader told Hindustan Times that with DK Shivakumar taking oath as chief minister, his new cabinet – comprising G Parameshwara, KH Muniyappa, UT Khadar, KJ George, Krishna Byre Gowda, MB Patil, Priyank Kharge, Satish Jarkiholi, Ramalinga Reddy, Dinesh Gundu Rao, Birati Suresh, Ishwar Khandre and Yatindra – is also likely to be sworn in. However, there is no official confirmation yet.

Congress will release the list of new ministers today

Karnataka Chief Minister-designate DK Shivakumar said that around 10 am or noon on Wednesday, the Congress high command will finalize and send the list of ministers to be included in his cabinet.

“High command leaders discussed the selection of ministers and we have expressed our opinion. High command leaders will take the final decision. After Delhi leaders send us the list, we will send it to Raj Bhavan,” he said.
