India Meteorological Department (IMD) in a release said conditions are favorable for further advance of Southwest Monsoon into some more parts of North Arabian Sea and other states including some areas of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand during the next two to three days.
3 people died due to flash flood in Arunachal Pradesh
Three people have died in flash floods triggered by rain in Arunachal Pradesh’s Kei Panyore, officials said, while search and rescue operations are underway.
He said floods and landslides due to incessant rains were also reported in several other parts of Arunachal Pradesh, with houses submerged and infrastructure damaged, forcing the local administration to launch rescue and evacuation operations.
Ten districts – Kei Panyor, Papum Pare, Kra Dadi, Kurung Kumey, Lower Subansiri, Kamle, Upper Subansiri, East Siang, Leparada and Lower Siang – have been affected by the rain havoc, officials said.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has also predicted more than 200 mm of rainfall in parts of Arunachal Pradesh in the next 24 hours till Monday morning, following which the state government has issued an alert and urged people to remain alert.

Traffic on the Fidang to Sanklong road was affected after the bailey bridge over Phi Khola was washed away on Saturday night due to incessant rains.
He said incessant rains also caused extensive damage in the upper Kao Khola area of ​​Lingi in South Sikkim.
Heavy to very heavy rainfall occurred at one or two places in Sikkim, while light to moderate rainfall occurred over most parts of the Himalayan state in the last 24 hours till 8:30 am on Sunday, an IMD bulletin said.
Assam: Flood situation remains serious
The flood situation in Assam remains a major concern as swollen rivers and incessant rains have affected many districts. Rescue and relief operations are underway in flood-affected areas, with officials closely monitoring the river levels.
Landslide warning in North Bengal
The IMD has issued an alert of extremely heavy rainfall at one or two places in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal till Monday, where normal life was affected in some parts due to incessant rains.
Warning about the possibility of landslides in the hilly areas of Darjeeling and Kalimpong districts and flooding in low-lying areas in the plains of North Bengal, the IMD advised authorities to take necessary action.
The weather office has issued an alert for Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Jalpaiguri and Alipurduar, warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall at a few places and extremely heavy rainfall at one or two places till Monday morning.
Fresh spell of rain seen in Mumbai
Mumbai received heavy rain on Monday, with several low-lying areas flooded and the Andheri subway completely submerged, forcing authorities to close it for traffic.
As a precautionary measure, Andheri subway was closed for vehicular movement from 1:46 am and police personnel were deployed outside to prevent accidents.
The IMD has issued a yellow alert for Mumbai and surrounding areas, predicting more rain, storm and strong winds in the next two days. Weather agencies have also warned of the possibility of floods in some areas if heavy rains continue.
Residents have been advised to remain vigilant, especially during the evening and night, when storm activity is expected to intensify. The latest round comes after a brief lull over the weekend following the first intense monsoon burst of the season.
Heat wave continues in Delhi due to delay in monsoon
Delhi recorded its hottest June morning in two years, with the minimum temperature reaching 31.1 degrees Celsius and the maximum reaching 41.8 degrees Celsius.
The temperature in the city crossed 50 degrees Celsius due to high humidity. According to Skymet, if conditions remain favourable, the south-west monsoon is likely to reach Delhi around July 4.
Heat wave before monsoon in Uttar Pradesh
In Uttar Pradesh, the mercury reached 43.4 degrees Celsius in Prayagraj, while Lucknow recorded a maximum temperature of 39.7 degrees Celsius, 3.6 degrees above normal, the weather department said.
The department said that heat wave is likely to prevail in different parts of the state in the next 24 hours, thunderstorm/lightning with strong winds is likely at isolated places in eastern Uttar Pradesh. Hot weather conditions continued in Punjab and Haryana, with Faridkot recording a high of 45.7 degrees Celsius and Bhiwani 45 degrees Celsius.
At many other places in both the states, maximum temperatures remained a few degrees above normal limits.
Rain alert issued in Himachal, Uttarakhand
IMD has predicted rain in Himachal Pradesh till July 4, with thunderstorms and strong winds likely in many districts.
The meteorological center in Shimla predicted rain in Himachal Pradesh till July 4, saying a fresh western disturbance is likely to affect northwest India from July 2.
It issued an alert of thunderstorm and gusty winds reaching 30-40 kmph at isolated places in the state between June 30 and July 4.
A yellow alert has been issued in Uttarakhand for thunderstorm, lightning, heavy rain and strong winds in the hilly districts in the next few days.
Noting that temperatures remained well above normal in many parts of Uttarakhand, the Dehradun Meteorological Center has issued a yellow (watch) warning for morning thunderstorm with lightning, intense to very intense rain and gusty winds at isolated places in the hilly districts of Uttarakhand.
The maximum temperature in Dehradun was recorded at 37.1 degrees Celsius, five degrees above normal, and the minimum temperature was 26.8 degrees, three degrees above normal.
Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan: heat now, rain later
Summer weather continues in Punjab and Haryana, with temperatures reaching 45 degrees Celsius at some places. There is a possibility of rain, storm and strong winds from July 1.

Humid weather continued in Rajasthan while sporadic rain was reported in some districts. The IMD has predicted an increase in rainfall activity over eastern and southeastern Rajasthan from July 2.
The weather office has predicted moderate to heavy rain with thunderstorms over parts of Kota and Udaipur divisions over the next few days, with rain activity expected to increase over southeast and east Rajasthan from July 2.
