Mbappe refutes reports of Real Madrid examining wrong knee for injury

Kylian Mbappe on Wednesday denied media reports that claimed Real Madrid examined the wrong leg when the France star sustained a knee injury late last year.

The soccer show “After Foot” on French broadcaster RMC Sport reported this week that the Spanish club had initially scanned his right knee, rather than the left one, in December. Other media outlets in Spain ran similar stories, nearly all of them citing RMC. Mbappe played throughout January but was then sidelined for three-and-a-half weeks before making his latest comeback.

“The report that said that they (examined) the wrong knee is false,” Mbappe said at a press conference ahead of France`s World Cup warmup against Brazil. “I am maybe responsible indirectly for this situation, because when you don`t communicate on what`s happening, it opens doors to others` interpretations.”

The club said in late December that Mbappe had sprained his left knee. Mbappe said he has “very clear communication” with Real Madrid. France plays Brazil on Thursday in Foxborough and faces Colombia on Sunday in Landover. On Monday in Paris, Mbappe said his knee feels fine. He was used as a substitute in Real Madrid`s last two matches as he works his way back into form.

“There was a lot of frustration, a lot of anger, and then also some anxiety at one point,” Mbappe told French media late Monday at a promotional event. “I had reached a stage where I didn`t know what was wrong with me. I didn`t go through that period in the best way. I wasn`t the happiest player in the world. But I`m happy now because it`s truly behind me. It`s all gone.”

Anthropic is now in race with OpenAI to launch an IPO first| Business News

Anthropic PBC is considering a listing as soon as in October, according to people familiar with the matter, as the AI company races with rival OpenAI Inc. to hold an initial public offering (IPO).

The maker of the popular Claude AI chatbot has had early discussions with Wall Street banks about taking leading roles on a potential listing, the people said, asking not to be identified as the information isn’t public. Goldman Sachs Group, JPMorgan Chase & Co. and Morgan Stanley are likely under consideration for key roles on Anthropic and OpenAI’s listings, some of the people said.

The Information reported earlier on the timing of Anthropic’s IPO. A listing could raise more than $60 billion, according to the report.

Deliberations are ongoing and no final decisions have been made, the people said. Representatives for Anthropic, Goldman Sachs and JPMorgan declined to comment. Spokespeople for OpenAI and Morgan Stanley didn’t immediately respond to requests for comment.

Anthropic was valued at $380 billion in a $30 billion funding round co-led by MGX that closed in February. It has partnerships with Alphabet Inc.’s Google, Amazon.com Inc., Microsoft Corp. and Nvidia Corp. These established firms have taken stakes in the AI startup, and have given Anthropic specialised chips and other technology in deals worth tens of billions of dollars.

Founded in 2021 by former OpenAI staffers including Chief Executive Officer Dario Amodei, Anthropic has aimed to be a more responsible AI steward than its competitors. Claude and its underlying technology have gained traction with enterprise customers in sectors like finance and healthcare, as well as with developers. Anthropic has pledged to spend $50 billion to build custom data centers in the US.

Anthropic ran afoul of the Pentagon earlier this year, which had declared the company a threat to the US supply chain under an authority normally reserved for foreign adversaries. The company won a court order on Thursday blocking the ban on government use of the technology, after Anthropic argued the move could cost it billions of dollars in lost revenue.

Priyadarshan breaks silence on Hera Pheri 3 legal dispute: `Trying to sort`

The legal troubles surrounding Hera Pheri 3 show no signs of easing. Following the face-off between the film’s lead actors, Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal, the project has now been hit by a fresh copyright controversy. Filmmaker Priyadarshan recently confirmed that the project is currently stuck due to unresolved legal disputes, and the film will go on floors once sorted.

Priyadarshan on Hera Pheri 3 legal row

In an exclusive interaction with India Today, filmmaker Priyadarshan confirmed that the much-anticipated sequel remains stalled due to legal issues. “It is still… there are some legal issues. We are trying to sort it out. Once that is sorted, then we’ll go ahead with that film,” he said.

When asked about returning to comedy, he responded, “Let’s see. You also pray that I’ll have the brain to do it.”

About Hera Pheri 3 copyright issue

The highly awaited comedy Hera Pheri 3 has encountered a major legal hurdle after a South Indian production house moved the Madras High Court, claiming that it holds the copyright to the franchise, not producer Firoz Nadiadwala. The dispute has cast uncertainty over the future of the film.

The first film, Hera Pheri (2000), directed by Priyadarshan, is a remake of the 1989 Malayalam film Ramji Rao Speaking, which itself was said to be inspired by the 1971 American TV film See the Man Run. According to Seven Arts International, it has full rights to the original content, including adaptations and sequels, and the company claims that Nadiadwala’s rights were limited to a single Hindi remake.

Other Hera Pheri 3 controversy

Hera Pheri 3 has not faced legal trouble only over its rights. At one point, Paresh Rawal had exited the film, following which Akshay Kumar reportedly moved court against him, seeking Rs 25 crore in damages. However, the matter was resolved quickly, with Akshay later withdrawing the case.

Clarifying that the issue is resolved, Rawal said in a podcast, “There’s no controversy. I believe that when people have loved something so much, you have to be extra careful. It is our responsibility toward the audience. The audience has given you so much adulation. You can’t take things for granted. Mehnat karke unko (film) do.”

Akash Madhwal trains with Mumbai Indians ahead of IPL 2026, fans ask if he is Jasprit Bumrah’s replacement

Mumbai Indians fans are buzzing after seeing Akash Madhwal back training with the squad ahead of the IPL 2026 campaign. But many of them are wondering if the former MI pacer is back in the squad as a replacement for Jasprit Bumrah.
Madhwal played two seasons for MI in 2023 and 2024 and picked up 19 wickets in 13 matches. This included an impressive five for five against Gujarat Titans during a league game in 2023, which was his breakout season with MI. Since then, he was signed by Rajasthan Royals, but played just four games last season before being released. He went unsold in the 2026 auction and had a trial with KKR as they auditioned for a replacement for Harshit Rana.

Madhwal was seen in a video training with MI and had a reunion with his former skipper Rohit Sharma. The pacer quickly showed his respect to Rohit, which was seen as a heartwarming gesture by fans.

However, many of them started to speculate if he was being kept on standby to replace Bumrah.

WHERE IS BUMRAH?

Despite MI’s preparations being in full swing ahead of their season opener against KKR, Bumrah paid a visit to the BCCI’s Centre Of Excellence in Bengaluru. However, a report from ESPNCricinfo stated that it was the fast bowler’s time at the facility is part of a carefully planned workload management strategy.

As per reports from ESPNCricinfo, the BCCI’s medical staff has outlined a dedicated strength and conditioning programme for Bumrah at the Centre of Excellence. The aim is to keep him in optimal shape for India’s crucial white-ball tour of England in July, which includes five T20Is and three ODIs.

Importantly for Mumbai Indians supporters, the 32-year-old continued to bowl in Bengaluru and remains actively involved in his skill-based training rather than being restricted. However, he is yet to join with the MI squad and seems likely to miss the game against KKR on March 30. MI have another casualty in the squad with Atharva Ankolekar being sidelined. It remains to be seen if Madhwal is being used as a net bowler or will be drafted into the side as a replacement.

Trolled online, 'real Jameel Jamali' Nabil Gabol now vows to make his own Dhurandhar after sequel's plot twist

Pakistani politician Nabil Gabol is miffed about all the trolling he is facing online ever since the release of Dhurandhar 2. He believes that the character of Jameel Jamali is based on him and he will make a movie of his own to counter all the alleged lies that are being propagated by Aditya Dhar‘s film.

Nabil Gabol claims he is facing trolling online after Dhurandhar 2 was released.
Nabil Gabol claims he is facing trolling online after Dhurandhar 2 was released.

SPOILERS FOR DHURANDHAR 2:

In an interview with a content creator, Nabil claimed that Jameel (played by Rakesh Bedi) is based on him as he was the MNA of Lyari at the time. When the content creator asked him about how Jameel Jamali was revealed to be an R&AW officer, he claimed that Indians cannot fight Pakistan in battlefield therefore resort to such things.

“The truth is that they cannot fight Pakistan or the Pakistani Army, so they created a movie instead. Through this, they have made Lyari internationally famous. The people of Lyari do not care; they are very strong. They used a comedian, Rakesh Bedi, to play my role and portrayed him as Nabil Gabol. Rakesh Bedi later claimed, ‘No, I didn’t just base it on Nabil Gabol; I made it a general depiction of all Pakistani politicians’. However, in 2007, the MNA of Lyari was Nabil Gabol.”

He also addressed the trolling. “I see a lot of trolling on Indian social media asking why Nabil Gabol has gone silent. Well, today is the 26th, and I will give you a powerful response, just as the Pakistani Army responded to you. Just as six of your planes were shot down, I will also give you a proper answer regarding what Lyari actually is.”

He then proclaimed that he will make Dhurandhar 3 but won’t call it that. He will call it Lyari Ka Gabbar.

What Nabil Gabol previously said

Last year, when Dhurandhar had released, Nabil Gabol had expressed his displeasure at his alleged portrayal then as well. While speaking with the media, Gabol was asked if he would go to the international forum to seek a ban on Dhurandhar, which has been criticised by many in Pakistan for ‘tarnishing the country’s image’. The former MNA said he doesn’t have the money to do so. However, he did criticise the film, particularly his own depiction. “Jo mera role dikhaya gaya hai, mera role bahut dabbang tha, or dabbang iss tareeke se tha ki inhone mere role ko sahi tareeke se nahi dikhaya (I was very audacious. But they haven’t shown me the way I was).”

Dhurandhar movies star Ranveer Singh as an Indian spy who infiltrates the gangs of Lyari in Pakistan. It also stars Arjun Rampal, Akshaye Khanna, Sara Arjun, Sanjay Dutt and others. The second film has earned more than ₹1000 crore worldwide over just a week.

Chauhan-Taniparthi storm into mixed team compound final

There was no stopping the dominant run of India`s compound archers as the top-seeded mixed team pair of Rajat Chauhan and Chikitha Taniparthi stormed into the final but the recurve contingent endured disappointment in the Asia Cup World Ranking Tournament Stage 1, here on Thursday. For India, two bronze medals are already in the bag, five entries are in the finals, and in addition, the country is in contention for two more bronze medals, keeping them on course to surpass last year`s eight-medal haul (five gold, two silver, one bronze). The compound mixed team duo of Chauhan and Taniparthi, who received a direct entry into the quarterfinals as top seeds, underlined their class with back-to-back wins.

They defeated Chinese Taipei 159-155 in the quarters and then got the better of fourth-seeded Kazakhstan 157-153 in the semifinals. That the Indian pair dropped just four points from a possible 320 across 32 arrows in the two matches underlined their dominance as they assured the country of its sixth medal overall. However, in the recurve mixed team event, the top-seeded duo of Ruma Biswas and Devaang Gupta suffered a straight-set defeat to Vietnam`s Thi Dao Loc and Hoang Phi Vu Nguyen in the quarterfinals. After conceding the opening set 35-37, the Indians improved to 36 in the second but still trailed as the Vietnamese pair edged ahead by a point to take a 4-0 lead.

Vietnam then sealed the contest emphatically, dropping just one point in the third set while the Indians managed 37, capping another underwhelming outing for India`s recurve contingent. India`s medal surge has been driven by the compound performance, but the recurve archers have failed to live up to expectations. The recurve unit could not defend individual titles and also returned empty-handed from the mixed team event, in which the pair of Vishnu Choudhary and Basanti Mahato had claimed a silver medal in the previous edition.

Overall, India have reached the finals in women`s recurve individual, men`s recurve team, women`s compound team, mixed compound team, and men`s compound individual where the country is in line for a clean sweep. The country is assured of a gold and silver finish in individual men`s compound event with Prathamesh Jawkar and Uday Kamboj set to clash in an all-Indian final, while Rajat Chauhan will compete for bronze.

In women`s recurve individual, rising Haryana archer Ridhi Phor entered the final and will be aiming for her maiden individual gold at the international level. India had opened their account with two bronze medals on Wednesday. The experienced men`s compound team of Rajat Chauhan, Rishabh Yadav and Uday Kamboj settled for a bronze along with women`s recurve team of Ruma Biswas, Kirti and Ridhi.

Is Europe heading to an energy crisis? | US-Israel war on Iran

Europe is bracing for a supply crunch and a price shock as the Iran conflict drags on.

It diversified energy supplies, built LNG terminals and reduced its dependence on Russia.

Europe thought it had learned its lesson after the war in Ukraine.
But today it’s facing another energy shock.

And this time it may be even worse, as the war in Iran disrupts supply through the Strait of Hormuz.

It’s happening when EU gas reserves are unusually low.

That means Europe will be competing with Asia to fill its storage tanks, which might force the price of LNG even higher.

Electricity bills are climbing.

Industry is under pressure.

Governments are stepping in to cushion the blow.

On Ram Charan 41st birthday, Upasana Konidela hints at daughter Anveera’s resemblance as Chiranjeevi shares unseen childhood photos
Ram Charan celebrated his 41st birthday on March 27, with wishes pouring in from family, friends, and fans. While the celebrations were filled with love, it was a subtle comment by Upasana Konidela that grabbed attention, giving fans a rare hint about their newborn daughter Anveera.

Ram Charan celebrated his 41st birthday on March 27, with wishes pouring in from family, friends, and fans. While the celebrations were filled with love, it was a subtle comment by Upasana Konidela that grabbed attention, giving fans a rare hint about their newborn daughter Anveera.

Upasana’s comment steals the spotlight

The moment came after Chiranjeevi shared a series of unseen childhood pictures of Ram Charan. Posting the throwback images, he wrote, “Charan Babu… From holding my hand as a child to becoming an inspiration to many today… You make me truly proud.”He added, “The way you balance cinema and personal life, your sense of responsibility towards family, your faith in God, discipline, and values… every time I see it, my love and admiration for you only grow stronger.”Signing off his note, he wrote, “May God’s blessings and fans’ love always guide you towards greater heights. Happy Birthday dear @alwaysramcharan.”The pictures showed adorable moments — from Chiranjeevi feeding young Ram cake to candid hugs and vacation memories. But one particular image stood out.Reacting to it, Upasana wrote, “Anveera is carbon copy pic 3,” hinting that their daughter resembles Ram Charan from that childhood photo. The comment quickly caught fans’ attention, especially since the couple has kept their children away from the public eye. Fans flooded the post with heart emojis, with many expressing excitement to see the little one.

A growing family, away from the spotlight

Ram Charan and Upasana got engaged in 2011 and married in 2012. They welcomed their first child, Klin Kaara, in 2023.In January 2026, the couple welcomed twins — a boy and a girl. Their names, Shiva Ram Konidela and Anveera Devi Konidela, were announced in February. Sharing the update, Chiranjeevi had written, “With boundless joy and divine grace, we are delighted to announce the beautiful names of our two little blessings.”He also explained the meaning behind the names — their son’s name is inspired by his birth name, Shiva Shankara Vara Prasad, and Ram Charan, while their daughter’s name draws from Goddess Kanaka Durga. On the work front, Ram Charan was last seen in Shankar’s Game Changer (2025), which failed to make a strong impact. He will next be seen in Buchi Babu Sana’s Peddi, a sports drama also starring Janhvi Kapoor and Shiva Rajkumar. The film is set to release in theatres on April 30.

Sai and Gill choose the versatile way

Sai and Gill choose the versatile way

Mumbai: In four seasons of the IPL so far, Gujarat Titans have won one title (2022), had one runners-up (2023) finish apart from making the playoffs last season. It’s an enviable record.

Sai Sudarshan of Gujarat Titans. (Hindustan Times)
Sai Sudarshan of Gujarat Titans. (Hindustan Times)

Interestingly, they built this success by playing a brand of cricket different from most other T20 sides. While most teams focus on power-hitting at the top of the order, GT have put pressure on all opponents through their two openers, Shubman Gill and B Sai Sudharsan’s, accumulating runs playing the classical version of the game.

GT’s top-order’s batting approach contrasts with India’s T20 World Cup winning side’s approach, where Abhishek Sharma, Sanju Samson and Ishan Kishan, play an ultra-aggressive brand of cricket.

In the run-up to the World Cup, the India team management tried Gill in the opening position, partner to Abhishek, but it didn’t work out.

But when it comes to GT, their openers’ approach is highly effective as well. Both Gill and Sudharsan have been consistently excellent; their template of playing the long innings is working fine.

If the power-hitters play with a higher strike-rate, Gill and Sudharsan bury the bowling attacks under a heap of runs. The 24-year-old left-hand batter from Chennai complements the right-handed Gill perfectly, and it is showing in the results. Last season, Sudharsan topped the IPL run charts with 759 runs scored at strike-rate of 156.17, with one hundred and six half-centuries. Captain Gill was not far behind with 650 runs scored at a strike-rate of 155.88 with six half centuries.

They have done this for a series of seasons. Before their 2025 run-fest, in the 2023 edition, Gill amassed 890 runs and in 2024 Sai Sudharsan topped GT’s run charts with 527.

The basis of their consistency is their risk-free batting. At the same time the opponents are unable to put them under pressure as the two stylish batters have strong basics with the ability to score off the good balls.

Ahead of a new season, it makes for an interesting debate over what’s the more effective way of handling the powerplay period where only two fielders are allowed outside the circle. The point is whether GT needs to tweak a template which is working so well for them?

Speaking of his partnership with his captain Gill, Sudharsan said, “We have to be equipped enough, or we have to be prepared enough to do that and obviously, when the main thing is our strength. So, how can we align it towards our strengths, and how can we still not compromise on that? At the same time, do what the team requires. I think ‘versatile’ is the right word.”

Gujarat Titans’ top three—Gill, Sudharsan, and Jos Buttler—showed consistency, which was the main reason GT reached the playoffs last season. They eventuslly lost in a high-scoring game against Mumbai Indians in the play-offs.

Ahead of IPL 2026, the Gujarat Titans, the 2022 champions, have hired former Australia opener Matthew Hayden as the batting coach. It is felt, six-hitting is one area the former CSK star can help Sudharsan get better at.

“With 10 days of time, we already have a few conversations around that, where, on how he used to look at those aspects, what you exactly mentioned and yes, we had conversations, and hopefully it helps me to get more success.”
