Red Bull Racing driver and four-time F1 champion Max Verstappen refused to begin his media session ahead of the weekend’s Japanese Grand Prix until an English journalist was evicted from the room. The incident happened on Thursday, March 26 when Verstappen evicted Giles Richards, who works for The Guardian.
“I’m not speaking before he leaves,” Verstappen said, gesturing towards the English journalist.
Richards, bewildered by the request, replied, “Seriously?”, to which Verstappen responded, “Yes.” The reporter then enquired, “Because of the question last year?” Verstappen shot back, “Get out!”
Only when the reporter agreed to leave did Verstappen appear at ease and begin the media session at Suzuka Circuit. Media sessions are part of each driver’s expected responsibilities during Grand Prix weekends, with only the FIA press conferences being mandatory.
WHY WAS VERSTAPPEN ANGRY AT JOURNALIST?
The Dutchman’s frustration with the British journalist stems from a question Richards had asked him during the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix last year. The question was related to an incident during the Spanish Grand Prix, when Verstappen, who was running fifth at the time, appeared to deliberately turn into the Mercedes of George Russell. The incident resulted in a 10-second time penalty, dropping him to tenth and costing him nine points.
Verstappen later lost the chance to claim his fifth drivers’ championship to Lando Norris by two points. At that time, Verstappen had shut down the question. He said, “You forget all the other stuff that happened in my season. The only thing you mention is Barcelona. I knew that would come.”
“You’re giving me a stupid grin now. I don’t know. Yeah, it’s part of racing in the end. You live and learn. The championship is one of 24 rounds. I’ve also had a lot of early Christmas presents given to me in the second half, so you can also question that,” he concluded.

Suvinder admitted that he had never used such abusive words in any of his previous roles and was initially hesitant before the shot. He said, “The villain’s father has to be a supervillain. I asked Aditya, ‘Dekh le, sachi mein zaroori hai? Itna yeh bhi voh bhi’ (Is it really necessary? This and that too).”
He then recalled Aditya’s response to his hesitation and said, “Aditya said, ‘Paaji, gaaliyan hi voh rakhi hain jismein beep naa aaye. Aap note karna yeh cheez, kahin kisi gaali par beep nahi hai’ (Brother, I’ve only kept those swear words that won’t need a beep. Notice this carefully — there isn’t a single abusive word in the film that has been beeped out). I told him, ‘Your research is amazing,’ and he responded, ‘Sir, itna career ho gaya hai, censor se nikalte hain sab toh pata lag jaata hai kahan aana chahiye, kahan nahi’ (Sir, after such a long career, once your films keep passing through the censor board, you automatically understand what should be there and what shouldn’t).”

‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ India net collections
As reported by Sacnilk, the film on its second Thursday earned an estimated Rs 49.70 crore, net at the box office, as per early estimates. The numbers indicate that the film saw minimal growth at the theatres, after seeing its collections take a dip mid-week. The film that opened strong with an estimated Rs 43 crore from just preview shows, went on to earn an estimated Rs 102.55 crore on Thursday, March 19, which marked its official release. On Friday, the film earned an estimated Rs 80.72 crore, but picked up its pace over the weekend, earning an estimated Rs 113 crore and followed it up with an equally impressive Rs 114.85 crore on Sunday. With this, the film ended its first weekend with a total net collection of Rs 454.12 crore. While Monday brought with it a drop in numbers, the film still managed to earn an estimated Rs 65 crore. Over the working week, it saw numbers gradually dip further, earning Rs 56.60 crore and Rs 48.75 crore on Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively.
‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ Day 8 collections
With Day 8 collection of Rs 49.70 crore, the film’s total net collections stand at an estimated Rs 674.17 crore. Meanwhile, the gross total collections have crossed the Rs 800 crore mark. As per the report, the film has grossed Rs 805.32 crore in India.

With still weeks to go before the film bows out of theatres, ‘Dhurandhar 2’ is now chasing the lifetime total haul of ‘Dhurandhar’ which grossed an estimated Rs 1,007.85 crore. Meanwhile, the 2025 film’s total India net collection rounded off at Rs 840.20 crore.

In the overseas markets, the film has continued to take in good numbers. Reports state that the latest collection is estimated to be around Rs 261.92 crore. The film has thus been able to almost match up to the lifetime international collection of its first part which earned Rs 299.50 crore overseas. The film managed to pull off this performance despite facing stiff competition at the international market, with the release of the Ryan Gosling sci-fi space film ‘Project Hail Mary’.‘Dhurandhar 2’ still has a long weekend ahead. With no major competition at the box office, it remains to be seen if it can pull off another epic weekend and become the new highest-grossing Hindi film of all time.
The BCCI unveiled the second leg of the IPL 2026 schedule on Thursday. With the initial phase wrapping up on April 12, the tournament resumes the next day, immediately, running from April 13 through May 24. The remaining matches will be staged across 12 venues – Bengaluru, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Delhi, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Jaipur, Dharamsala, Raipur and New Chandigarh.

The tournament resumes on April 13, 2026, with Sunrisers Hyderabad hosting Rajasthan Royals in Hyderabad, kicking off a crucial stretch of matches. Among the standout contests, five-time champions Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings are set to clash twice in the second leg, adding extra intrigue to the schedule. As the race to the playoffs intensifies, every game will carry significant weight, promising a gripping run of fixtures in the lead-up to the final stages of the competition.
Meanwhile, defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru will not meet Chennai Super Kings twice this season, with their only clash already slated in the opening leg at Chinnaswamy Stadium. RCB will split their home fixtures across two venues, with three matches scheduled in Bengaluru and two in Raipur.
Rajasthan Royals, after beginning their home leg in Guwahati, will return to Jaipur for four matches in the latter phase. The second leg will also include eight double-headers, adding to the packed schedule. Punjab Kings, on the other hand, will divide their home games between Mullanpur and Dharamsala, with three fixtures set to be played in Dharamsala during this phase.
The venues for the playoffs have not been announced yet, and will be unveiled at a later date.

“None of us are satisfied with our performance because the result didn’t go our way,” she told TimesofIndia.com during an exclusive conversation. “The coach had high expectations from me. But personally, I feel I couldn’t perform at my best or support the team the way I should have… But playing on such a big stage against top players. That itself was a big achievement for us.”
An approach that left more questions than answers
The turbulence started long before the opening whistle in Perth. In a move that left many observers baffled, the All India Football Federation (AIFF) opted for a foreigner-is-better approach just weeks before the tournament. “Honestly, our preparation was very good,” Basfore recalled. “We played against teams from Ukraine and Russia… Champions League-level club teams. We won almost every match.” But as the team moved from the Mediterranean breeze of Turkey to the high-stakes pressure of Australia, the cracks began to show.“As the matches got closer, we were getting more excited but also a bit nervous. Until we played the first match, we couldn’t really judge how our performance would be. No matter how much you prepare, on such a big stage, there’s always that uncertainty,” the 29-year-old admitted. “After the first match, we became more serious. We still regret that we feel like the World Cup opportunity slipped away from us.”

With the AIFF not intending to extend Valverde’s contract, it suggests that their stop-gap solution to success has gone down the drain.According to multiple reports, her short-lived tenure had tactical volatility, with the AIFF Technical Committee recently describing her term as “disappointing”. She cycled through three different formations in three group games. Basfore feels there was too little time for Valverde. “She is a very good coach. If she had more time with us, she could’ve understood us even better,” the West Bengal-born midfielder told this website. “But she still tried and spoke to everyone, motivated us both on and off the field. There wasn’t really a problem.”Despite the 11-0 scoreline against Japan, Basfore refuses to believe the gap is insurmountable for Indian football. Looking at their other opponents, Vietnam and Chinese Taipei, she insists the difference wasn’t quality, but execution and perhaps a bit of luck. “If you look at teams like Vietnam or Chinese Taipei, there isn’t a huge difference. We could have done better. We fought hard as a team. NEW DELHI: India on Thursday backed reforming the World Trade Organisation but underlined the need to retain the core focus on poor and developing countries and a consensus-driven decision-making process.“The necessary reform of WTO should be carried out through a transparent, inclusive and member-driven process, keeping development at its core, upholding the foundational principles and objectives of the organisation, mainly non-discrimination, consensus-based decision making and equity. Special and differential treatment (S&DT) should be precise, effective and operational,” commerce & industry minister Piyush Goyal said in his intervention at the ministerial meeting that kicked off on Thursday.While calling for past mandates given by members to be delivered, Goyal highlighted the need to get the dispute settlement mechanism going again. The US has blocked appointments to the appellate body, holding up the entire process of dispute resolution He also flagged his concern over the failure of the WTO membership to address concerns of poor countries that grow and export cotton, or India’s concerns over public stockholding, an issue that has been pending for 12 years now with ministers kicking the can down the road every time they meet. “…we must deliver on them on priority,” Goyal said at the meeting in Cameroon.India also thumbed down China’s push for an investment facilitation framework but did not make an explicit mention. Instead, Goyal said the incorporation of plurilateral outcomes into the WTO framework should be based on consensus and not impair existing rights of non-parties or cast additional obligations on them. A plurilateral agreement, which according to India needs to be cleared through consensus, means a group of countries can finalise a pact on an issue such as IT goods.Further, he suggested that India is not keen on continuing the customs waiver for e-commerce.

Syndicate is about the rise of an organisation so powerful, so integrated, and so maniacally driven that it threatens the very existence of India. I believe that Syndicate is something which will match up to the post-Dhurandhar 2 era, and that is the reason for my decision.”
He continued, “Here’s my take on why I want to wipe out my entire past and be a newborn or a reborn director post watching Dhurandhar 2… In effect, we all keep getting reshaped from time to time because of newer and newer experiences, which keep on elevating our benchmarks as they should. My benchmark films were The Sound of Music (Rangeela), The Exorcist (Raat, Bhoot), and The Godfather (Satya, Company, Sarkar). In my entire career, I was making films derived from those benchmarks and mainly from The Godfather.”

He went on to add, “But now, after seeing Dhurandhar 2, all my earlier films look like nothing. If The Godfather was my earlier benchmark in this genre, I now felt Dhurandhar 2 is like Godfather’s Godfather in the way, it redefined and reinvented everything, whether it’s craft, storytelling style, character design, background music, laying out emotional landscapes, artistes’ performances, action choreography, etc. So it’s common sense that I need to abandon the lessons learnt from the old schools of Coppola and join the new school of @AdityaDharFilms and that’s the only way one can stay updated.”

Sunrisers Hyderabad captain Pat Cummins has stated that he is recovering from a back injury and hopes to play again in the middle of the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL). The Australian pacer is set to miss the opening few matches of the tournament due to a back problem.
According to ESPNcricinfo, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) captain Cummins stated on a Business of Sport podcast that he has started bowling in the nets again and is slowly increasing his workload as part of a systematic rehabilitation plan.
“I`m still recovering from a back injury, but it`s good. I`m back bowling in the nets. The IPL is starting soon. I won`t make the start of that, but it shouldn`t be too long before I`m back out there playing,” Cummins said.
The fast bowler is optimistic about making a speedy return while acknowledging that he would miss the first part of the IPL. Cummins also admitted that, as part of a closely watched regimen intended to guarantee a safe return to competitive cricket, he is currently bowling every third day.
“We`ve mapped out a plan to get me right by [the] middle of the tournament, so hopefully, if nothing goes wrong, [I`ll] play the back half plus the finals,” Cummins added.
Cummins played just one Test match against England during the Ashes series last year due to a back stress injury. The pacer also missed the ICC Men`s T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka but is aiming to come back on the field soon.
In place of Cummins, the Hyderabad-based franchise has confirmed that India wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan will be the stand-in skipper for the 2026 season. The Sunrisers Hyderabad will start their season against the defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru, on March 29.
