Ahead of the league, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have announced Navdeep Saini as the replacement player for injured Harshit Rana.
Earlier, Harshit sustained a knee strain during the ICC Men`s T20 World Cup 2026 warm-up match against South Africa. He then underwent knee surgery and is going through rehabilitation, with no confirmation on his return.
The franchise has also signed Saurabh Dubey as Akash Deep`s replacement. Deep is set to miss the marquee tournament due to a lumbar stress injury and will go through rehabilitation at the Board of Control for Cricket in India`s Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru.
The Kolkata-based franchise also announced that they will retire the no. 12 jersey in in honour of their former star all-rounder Andre Russell. The star all-rounder has been a part of the team since 2014.
The opening match of the tournament is scheduled to be played between the defending champions, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
Earlier, the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) Secretary, Santosh Menon, confirmed that the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium will host five of the RCB`s IPL 2026 home games. The venue will also host one of the play-off matches and the title clash of the tournament.
KKR will begin their IPL 2026 campaign by playing a clash against the Mumbai Indians (MI) on March 29 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Actor Ranveer Singh may be setting the screen ablaze with his power-packed performance in Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar franchise, but it’s his fierce, rugged makeover that has everyone talking just as much. Now, in a behind-the-scenes reveal, the film’s hairstylist Muskan Khan has shared that the actor left her a special handwritten note after the shoot wrapped.

On Tuesday, Muskan looked back at working on the film with Ranveer through a post on Instagram.
She shared several BTS moments from the Dhurandhar sets with a caption that read, “It’s a blur, but you can see the hard work. Behind the camera, amidst the dust, sweat, and blood, we put in every effort to make each frame perfect and inspire our audience.”

He is seen gently kissing Muskan on the forehead while holding her head close. Muskan, on the other hand, is all smiles and has her eyes closed and an expression filled with joy.
The post also reveals that Ranveer wrote a special note with Muskan after wrapping up the film. The note read, “To my dearest Muskan, you are a brilliant artist. At the moment, Ranveer is getting plaudits for his transformation as a spy in the Dhurandhar franchise, which has been directed by Aditya Dhar. The film was released on March 19. According to Sacnilk, Dhurandhar 2 has registered ₹587 crore net business in India till now. It has made over ₹900 crore worldwide. On Tuesday, Dhurandhar 2 stormed past the collections of Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2, Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan, and Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal. London, United Kingdom – A month after being released on bail, pro-Palestine activists who participated in a months-long hunger strike in prison are planning on taking legal action over their alleged mistreatment.
On Wednesday, at a news conference where four of the activists spoke about life in jail and their lasting medical conditions, Lisa Minerva Luxx, a campaigner who supports the group, said the defendants are “seeking to take legal action against the prisons for their medical neglect”, adding, “legal action is due to take place”.

Eight young activists linked to the protest group Palestine Action began a rolling hunger strike in November that lasted until January.
Qesser Zuhrah, 21, Teuta Hoxha, 30, Kamran Ahmed, 28, and 31-year-old Heba Muraisi were bailed in February after the High Court ruled that the proscription of Palestine Action was unlawful. They had been held on remand for 15 months in connection with a raid on the Elbit Systems UK factory in Filton, near Bristol, on August 6, 2024.
‘My hair is falling out in chunks’
Heba Muraisi, who refused food for 73 days, told Al Jazeera she is still suffering from “neurological issues”.
“My hair is still falling out in chunks, I can’t walk long distances without needing to take a break. Physically and mentally, I’m still recovering. I’m still not there yet,” she said.
She told the news conference that the treatment she faced in prison “only got worse” when the government proscribed Palestine Action as a “terror” group in July 2025.
Muraisi said she was physically assaulted to the point that the “wind was thrown out of me”, was regularly placed in solitary confinement, and had her keffiyeh confiscated – so she instead used a pillowcase as a headscarf while praying.
During her detention, Muraisi was transferred to a jail in northern England, much further from Bronzefield prison near her loved ones.
Prison authorities “refused to tell me where I was going,” she said. “My mother, who is unwell, couldn’t visit for five months.”
She claimed that she was not provided with electrolytes during her hunger strike “and only received vitamins after 30 days”.
‘A calculated regime of isolation’
Others, held at different prisons, spoke of similar patterns of alleged mistreatment.
Through tears and wearing a grey sweatsuit that resembled her prison gear – and that of Palestinians detained by Israel – Qesser Zuhrah said, “I was 19 when I was kidnapped from my home by counterterrorism police in a very violent raid.”
“For the entirety of my imprisonment, I was subject to a calculated regime of isolation, blocked from making any friends, especially other young people and Muslims,” she said. “One Muslim woman I met [was told by a guard that] there are dangerous people here and that she needs to be moved away from me.”
Zuhrah added that “multiple periods of prolonged confinement and isolation in my cell without reason” made her feel “like a ghost of myself”.
She said that one day, after two prisoners had died in a week, she asked the guards to unlock the cell of a claustrophobic inmate who was suffering from suicidal thoughts.
“They responded by assaulting me,” she said. “Female guards grabbed my arms, exposed my body, dragged me through the landing and up a metal staircase, and threw me into my cell against the metal bed frame.”
Zuhrah refused food for almost 50 days as part of the hunger strike, pushing her body to the limits. Like the other activists, she was hospitalised during this period.
“Our prisons mistreated us in the most elaborate ways, in order to teach us that our bodies don’t belong to us,” she said, claiming that she was also denied electrolytes and received vitamins after only 30 days.
Guards “tried to tempt me with food”, she said, alleging “cruel tactics” that impacted her health.
“On the 45th or 46th day, they left me paralysed with muscle wastage on my cell floor for 22 hours,” she alleged. “They left me to die on my cell floor, or at least let me believe that they would [leave me].”
‘I still bear the marks of the cuffs’
Kamran Ahmed, who refused food for 66 days, said he still suffers from chest pains and breathlessness.
He said that after being admitted to hospital, he was handcuffed to an officer while showering; the use of cuffs is usually restricted for people who are likely to escape or commit violence.
“I was chained so tight that even today I still bear the marks of the cuffs,” he said.
He also said he was made to walk without shoes during his detention.
“When I had to use the public toilet, with only socks, I had to dodge stains of urine and faeces,” he said.

Teuta Hoxha, who underwent two hunger strikes whilst on remand for 15 months, said that during the second protest, she lost 20 percent of her body weight “and was defecating my muscle mass in hospital whilst chained to an officer like a dog”.
She claimed, “I witnessed guards threaten other prisoners with 14 years for saying ‘free Palestine’.
“When I raised this incident with the prison’s regional ‘counterterrorism’ lead, a meeting I secured through the hunger strike, he used the analogy of a neo-Nazi fascist symbol to compare the two.”
She added that other prisoners were warned not to associate with us “because we were deemed to be terrorists”.
But ultimately, Hoxha said, “the British state failed to disappear our resistance”.
The group called off their hunger strike, claiming victory after the UK reportedly denied a military training contract to Elbit Systems UK, instead choosing Raytheon UK, the subsidiary of the US defence firm, which also has several deals with the Israeli military.
Known as part of the “Filton 24”, the detainees denied the charges against them, such as burglary and criminal damage. Twenty-three members of the collective have been bailed. Only Samuel Corner, who faced an additional charge of allegedly assaulting a police sergeant, remains in prison.
Four other hunger strikers remain in prison, accused of involvement in a break-in at a Royal Air Force (RAF) base in Oxfordshire.
Both incidents were claimed by Palestine Action.
The Home Office has been granted permission to appeal the High Court’s decision on Palestine Action. An April date has reportedly been set for the appeal.
Al Jazeera has contacted the Ministry of Justice for a response. Throughout their hunger strike, the ministry denied that the prisoners were being mistreated.

For Shaw, the time away helped him reset mentally and reconnect with his personal life.“It was just a needed break, so that I can strengthen myself mentally. It was a good break and I enjoyed it a lot. I got a lot of family time, so I was happy with it.”Shaw, who has played 79 matches for Delhi Capitals since joining the franchise in 2018, found no takers in 2025. In IPL 2023 and 2024, his performances dipped as he failed to cross 200 runs in both seasons and was later dropped from the side.While admitting that the past few IPL seasons haven’t been ideal, he remains grounded about expectations. “In the last couple of years, IPL didn’t go very well for me. Not really bad, not really good. But obviously, people do expect a lot, especially when it comes to an opening batter.”For Shaw, the solution lies in going back to basics, with an emphasis on quality over quantity.“You have to give your 100% during practice… So, overall, it comes down to practice and hard work. And there should be quality practice… at some stage, you have to have quality practice.”Having been labelled a prodigy from a young age, Shaw addressed external expectations and admitted to making mistakes.“Sir, I didn’t write this. That I am this, I am that. I am a human being. I will make mistakes. And obviously, whatever is written outside, they know only half of it. My family knows me. I have kept as many friends in my life as my fingers, so they know me inside out. Whenever there were good things in social media or papers, or bad things, I was very young, obviously,” the DC batter said.“If you see social media every time, I come. If you see in the paper, I come. So, I stopped seeing those things. These were the things that kept me away from all this. And I had belief in myself because I know where I have come from and how hard I have worked. Humans make mistakes. You have also made mistakes in your life.”“I have also made mistakes. That’s it. It’s okay. Move ahead. That’s history. All that has happened. It’s been many years. I must have made some mistakes in my life. And I feel this is the time where I am very happy mentally. I love coming to the ground. This is my passion, and no one can take this away from me, no matter how much anyone writes about me,” he said.Shaw, who has played five Tests, six ODIs and one T20I, admitted that one of the toughest phases came when he was dropped from the Mumbai team, a decision he disagreed with. His fitness and discipline issues, however, have made more headlines than his performances in recent months, and Shaw also went unsold in the IPL 2025 mega auction.“The reason that was given to me was not valid according to me. So even at that time, I smiled and left. I said, it’s okay,” he recalled.“I didn’t talk to the selector. I didn’t talk to the president. I didn’t talk to anyone.”“Maharashtra was a little close to Mumbai, and I had friends over there, so I went there. And it was very good,” said Shaw.Shaw did reasonably well for Maharashtra. The right-handed batter scored 537 runs in seven matches, including a double hundred. Made In Korea tops Netflix’s non-English chart for 2nd week
Made In Korea was released on Netflix on March 12, and the film has found much love since then. It has topped the top 10 non-English movies chart for the second time in a row. The film has garnered over 67 lakh views, while Border 2 came in second with over 33 lakh views. Dhurandhar, which raked in over 23 lakh views, came in the third position. Firebreak, The Secret Agent, Sosok Ketiga 2: Lintrik, With Love, The Dreamseller, The Pact and Retirement Home made up the rest of the list.
Ra Karthik on Made In Korea topping Netflix chart
Karthik took to his Instagram account to comment on how Made In Korea topped the chart for two weeks. He wrote, “For the first time, a South Indian film has reached this kind of global scale, and to sustain it into the second week makes it even more special.” He also added, “So proud that a female-centric film has achieved this reach. @priyankaamohanofficial happy for you, your efforts shine!”

Prithvi Shaw has never lacked belief. The Mumbai-born opener, once seen as one of India’s brightest young talents, is now setting his sights on an India comeback as he prepares for IPL 2026 with Delhi Capitals.
It has been a turbulent phase in Shaw’s career. Fitness and discipline concerns overshadowed his performances, leading to him going unsold at the IPL 2025 mega auction. He was also dropped from the Mumbai side, prompting a move to Maharashtra in a bid to reset his career.
Shaw returns to a franchise he represented for seven seasons since 2018. After missing out last year, the move marks a fresh start for the 26-year-old, who now arrives with renewed motivation.
“If I don’t think about a comeback, then what’s the point? That’s why I am playing. Who doesn’t want to play for India? You have to be there, and I am working towards that,” Shaw said ahead of the season.

“He needs to get his work ethic right, and if he does that, the sky is the limit for him. We can’t babysit anyone, right? Every professional who is playing at this level, they need to know what they should be doing. He has to focus, sit back, put a thinking cap on, and figure it out for himself.”
Shaw himself acknowledged that expectations remain high, especially as an opening batter in the IPL.

“The last few years in the IPL has not been great for me. Not really bad, not really good. But obviously people do expect a lot especially when it comes to an opening batter. You have to give 100 per cent in practice as well. That is what reflects in the match.”
