Singer and composer Shekhar Ravjiani remembered the late legendary singer KK, who passed away around 4 years ago, back in 2022. In a heartfelt post on social media, Shekhar said that he has always been inspired by KK. Admiring his dedication and sincerity towards music, Shekhar said that KK was never someone who went after fame, or got into controversies or even attempted to overshadow anyone. Shekhar dropped a throwback selfie with KK on his IG, where both of them can be seen smiling at the camera.

“Remembering you fondly KK. As a human you have always inspired me. Your deep dedication to your music. Your sincerity. You always kept it real. Never chasing fame or stepping into controversies. Never putting down anyone. Never trying to overtake anyone. Only spreading love. Making music and making friends for life (sic),” read the caption.

Sending his love and blessings to the late singer, Shekhar added, “You and that big beautiful heart of yours will always be an inspiration. Hope you are smiling wherever your are my brother”, followed by a red heart emoji. Refreshing your memory, KK made his Bollywood playback debut with the song “Tadap Tadap Ke Is Dil Se” from Salman Khan, Aishwarya Rai, and Ajay Devgn`s 1999 outing “Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam”. He has delivered various noteworthy songs primarily in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, and Kannada.

Top Indian Grandmaster Koneru Humpy has announced her decision to withdraw from the FIDE Women’s Candidates Tournament, citing personal safety and well-being as her primary concern. The tournament, which begins on March 28 at the Cap St Georges Hotel and Resort in Pegeia, Cyprus, is the only pathway to the Women’s World Championship match.

Taking to X on Sunday, Humpy wrote, “After deep reflection, I have taken the difficult decision to withdraw from the FIDE Women’s Candidates Tournament. No event, no matter how important, can come before personal safety and well-being. Despite the assurances provided, I do not feel fully secure under the current circumstances. This is a painful but necessary decision, and I stand by it.”

‘I thought Aditya replaced me,’ says Danish Iqbal

Following the release of Dhurandhar in December 2025, speculation about the mysterious character Bade Sahab intensified, with several names circulating on social media. As edited images and fan theories featuring Salman and Emraan gained traction, Danish admitted the buzz unsettled him. “When so many names surfaced about playing Dawood, I thought of calling Aditya Dhar to check if he had replaced me,” Danish told Zoom.

With the release of Dhurandhar: The Revenge, it was finally confirmed that Danish plays Bade Sahab, who is revealed to be Dawood Ibrahim in the sequel. His portrayal of the ageing, bedridden don has drawn attention for its intensity and transformation.

Danish also shared that he was initially unaware of the full scope of his character. “I didn’t know Dawood was Bade Sahab. There was no chat about Bade Sahab at that time. I was just told that I’ll play Dawood. He’s bedridden, and all his scenes will take place in that setting. But I did not have the clarity about Bade Sahab. When his name surfaced in the script as someone Ranveer’s character was looking for, even we started wondering who Bade Sahab was. There was a discussion about whether he was Pervez Musharraf or Osama bin Laden. That’s when I wondered if Dawood was Bade Sahab,” he added.

Danish details extensive prosthetic transformation to play Bade Sahab

The role required Danish to undergo an extensive prosthetic transformation to portray an older version of the character. Reflecting on the demanding process, he said that it took 7–8 hours to apply the prosthetics and another 2–3 hours to remove them. He added that after spending nearly 12 hours in makeup, shooting with intense focus and concentration, it would take him about an hour to come out of the character, noting that it was not like other roles that one can easily switch on and off.

At the box office, Dhurandhar: The Revenge has delivered a record-breaking run, crossing the ₹500 crore mark worldwide within just three days of release. The film has earned approximately ₹339 crore net in India so far, with Sunday collections still underway and expected to push the numbers even higher. Trade reports indicate that the film is continuing its strong momentum over the weekend, positioning it among the fastest Hindi films to reach the ₹500 crore global milestone.

What Alia said about Dhurandhar 2

Taking to her Instagram Stories, Alia shared a still from the film featuring Ranveer, and wrote, “Jaskirat Singh Rangi and this moment… is everything (red heart emoticon). The magic of the director and the actor in complete sync!”

(spoiler alert) The scene in question comes at the very end of the film, when Ranveer’s character returns to India to meet his family after years. The camera stays on his face (as he begins to cry) as he realises what he must do for the sake of his family’s well-being.

She went on to add, “Congratulations Team Dhurandhar for this historic run at the movies!”

Earlier, Alia’s production house, Eternal Sunshine Productions, had congratulated the first film, Dhurandhar, for scripting history. The post read, “It’s the voice of today’s India. It’s the choice of today’s India. It’s based on a chapter in history. And now it’s the number one chapter in India’s cinema history. Cheers to Dhurandhar. And three cheers to the ENTIRE team. You not only created waves —you brought the high tide back to the theatres. If this is what part one did in winter, imagine what part two will bring in spring!!!”

Alia and Ranveer have co-starred in two films- Gully Boy and Rocky Aur Rani kii Prem Kahaani.

The film was released on March 19 with paid premieres on March 18, and has crossed the ₹450 crore mark so far. The first film showed Ranveer Singh as an Indian spy who infiltrates gangs in Lyari to eliminate a terror network targeting India while also climbing the power ladder within Pakistan’s underworld.

Helmed by Aditya Dhar, the sequel delves into the origin story of Ranveer’s character, Hamza Ali Mazari, also known as Jaskirat Singh Rangi. It also continues the story from the first part, showing how the Indian spy completes his mission to dismantle the terror network in Pakistan that threatens India. The upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is all set to kick off from March 28. So far, the schedule of only first 20 matches has been released due to state elections.

Ahead of the league, former Team India cricketer Lakshmipathy Balaji feels that Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) is heavily depending on their three overseas batsmen.

“The top order, especially with Marsh, Aiden Markram, and of course Pooran, is stacked. They have given solid starts and out-batted the opposition on multiple occasions last season. The concerns were the bowling, the captaincy, and the tactical side of the leadership group. They definitely depend heavily on their overseas trio of batters,” he said.

With only four overseas players allowed in the playing XI, the former cricketer also picked the names of Indian players, who, according to him, may deliver performances.

“You have the likes of Badoni, Abdul Samad, and Shahbaz Ahmed, all of whom can chip in. But the top order and Rishabh Pant will have to do the heavy lifting,” said Balaji.

Along with Marsh, Markram, and Pooran, he also named his fourth overseas player, who could fit in the combination for Lucknow. Balaji feels that if Wanindu Hasaranga stays unfit, Anrich Nortje can be picked in the playing XI.

“On the overseas combination, normally I would pick three batters, so the first-choice players, Marsh, Markram, and Pooran, walk in. Then, you need to strengthen the bowling attack with one overseas fast bowler, as we are still unsure whether Hasaranga will be fully fit or not. If not, Anrich Nortje would be my choice as the fourth overseas player,” said the former cricketer.

Union coal and mines minister G Kishan Reddy on Sunday said coal gasification will play a critical role in enhancing India’s energy security, reducing import dependence and supporting industrial growth.The renewed push has gained urgency amid the ongoing Middle East conflict, which has led to a surge in global energy prices.Speaking at the Bharat Electricity Summit 2026, the minister described coal gasification as a transformative technology that converts coal into syngas, which can be used to produce cleaner fuels, chemicals, fertilisers and hydrogen, as reported by PTI.He said the approach would enable more efficient and sustainable utilisation of domestic resources while strengthening economic resilience.Reddy highlighted India’s dependence on energy imports, noting that the country imports about 83 per cent of its crude oil requirements, 50 per cent of natural gas and more than 90 per cent of methanol and fertilisers, making energy security a strategic priority.To promote adoption of the technology, the Centre has launched the National Coal Gasification Mission with a target of achieving 100 million tonnes of coal gasification by 2030.“…. An incentive framework of Rs 8,500 crore has been introduced to support public and private sector projects, with several large-scale initiatives already underway and investments exceeding Rs 64,000 crore in the pipeline,” he said.The minister also pointed to advanced technologies such as Underground Coal Gasification, which can help tap previously inaccessible reserves while lowering environmental impact.Calling for greater collaboration, Reddy said coal gasification spans multiple sectors including power, oil and gas and fertilisers, and requires a coordinated ecosystem involving industry, academia, start-ups and research institutions.He reiterated the government’s commitment to streamlined approvals, supportive policies and incentives to encourage early participation and investment.Expressing confidence in India’s potential, the minister said that with innovation, indigenous technology development and coordinated efforts, the country can emerge as a global leader in clean coal technologies while advancing energy security, sustainability and self-reliance.

Chennai Super Kings on Sunday unveiled a major milestone in their history by inducting Suresh Raina and Matthew Hayden into the franchise’s inaugural Hall of Fame. The honour was announced during their fan engagement event “Roar’26” held at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.Raina, one of the most iconic figures in CSK’s journey, represented the franchise from its inception in 2008 until 2021. He played a central role in four title-winning campaigns in 2010, 2011, 2018 and 2021. Popularly known as ‘Chinna Thala’ among supporters, he was also part of the team’s Champions League T20 triumphs in 2010 and 2014, where he earned the Player of the Tournament award in the latter after scoring 234 runs.He remains CSK’s leading run-scorer, amassing 5529 runs, including two centuries and 38 half-centuries across his career with the franchise.Hayden, meanwhile, was associated with CSK between 2008 and 2010 and contributed to their early success. The former Australian opener was part of the 2010 IPL-winning side and had earlier claimed the Orange Cap in the 2009 season after scoring 572 runs, becoming the first CSK player to achieve the feat.In his time with the franchise, Hayden scored 1117 runs, registering eight half-centuries.The event also saw the presence of several former CSK players, including Muttiah Muralitharan, Ambati Rayudu, Lakshmipathy Balaji, S Badrinath and Michael Hussey, adding to the celebratory atmosphere at the franchise’s landmark occasion. RCB ended their long wait for a maiden IPL title by defeating Punjab Kings by six runs in a thrilling final in Ahmedabad on June 3, 2025. Having fallen short on multiple occasions in the past, the Bengaluru side entered the final with both confidence and caution. Speaking in a video shared on RCB’s official social media handles, Kohli explained how the team approached the summit clash.

“To be very honest, when we reached the finals, I felt a sense of calm confidence. But you also understand it’s not going to be a cakewalk, it’s a final, and there’s another team who’s played really, really well to get there and obviously beaten a lot of good sides, so they are also very confident in what they want to do.”

We must have played really good cricket to get to the finals. It’s not a fluke. It’s not by chance.
