Aakash Chopra speaks about Liam Livingstone`s price tag and form ahead of season
The upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is all set to kick off from March 28. So far, the schedule of only first 20 matches has been released due to state elections.
Ahead of the tournament, Punjab Kings (PBKS) acquired the services of Liam Livingstone for Rs 13 crore. The right-handed batsman has not played for England since the Champions Trophy 2025 due to poor form.
Considering the amount he is receiving in the cash-rich league, former Team India cricketer Aakash Chopra feels that the Englishman is receiving a lot of money, despite not delivering big performances in the previous two or three years.
“I am thinking about Liam Livingstone. He was talking about the lack of communication in the England setup, and that he did not get the same kind of response and messages, and all of that. He has been sold for a lot of money, but let`s be honest, the figures are slightly inflated because he has not performed anything like that in the last two or three years to get this much money,” he said on his YouTube channel.
The former cricketer also backed Livingstone by stating that this is his chance to make a difference in the IPL 2026.
“He would not have gotten so much money had it not been a supply-and-demand issue, but now that he is there, he will get a chance to play, make a difference. This is your opportunity, Liam Livingstone,” said Chopra.
The first match of the tournament is scheduled to be played between the defending champions, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
Punjab will begin their IPL 2026 campaign by playing a clash against Gujarat Titans (GT) on March 31 at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in New Chandigarh.

Global pop icon and multiple Grammy Award winner Shakira was supposed to perform in India in April. However, her comeback plans have been jolted due to the West Asia tensions. As per the latest update from the organisers, the concert has been postponed due to the “geopolitical situation and regional tensions.” Ticket holders will receive a full refund.

“We’re working with the artist’s team to find a new date and will share updates as soon as we have them. The Feeding India Concert has always stood for something greater, and that commitment remains unchanged,” the organisers said.

Govt orders faster city gas project clearances, hikes commercial LPG allocation to ease supply stress
The government has stepped up efforts to streamline gas distribution and ease supply pressures, directing faster processing of city gas projects while increasing allocations of commercial LPG to key sectors amid a challenging geopolitical environment.The Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organisation (PESO) has instructed its offices to dispose of City Gas Distribution (CGD) applications within 10 days, aiming to accelerate the rollout of piped natural gas (PNG), an official statement said.Commercial LPG consumers in major cities and urban areas have also been advised to shift to PNG as part of a broader strategy to reduce dependence on liquefied petroleum gas. Domestic LPG supply remains stable, with no reported dry-outs at distributorships and normal delivery patterns across the country, the statement said, adding that most deliveries are being carried out through the Delivery Authentication Code (DAC) while panic bookings have subsided, PTI reported.On the commercial LPG front, the government has progressively increased allocations. After restoring 20 per cent supply earlier, an additional 10 per cent allocation linked to PNG expansion reforms was announced on March 18. A further 20 per cent allocation was cleared on March 21, taking total commercial LPG supply to 50 per cent.The latest increase prioritises sectors such as restaurants, dhabas, hotels, industrial canteens, food processing units, dairy operations, community kitchens and subsidised food outlets run by state governments and local bodies. Provision has also been made for 5 kg cylinders for migrant workers.Around 20 states and Union Territories have implemented the revised allocation guidelines, while public sector oil marketing companies are supplying commercial LPG in the remaining regions. In the past eight days, about 15,440 tonnes of LPG have been lifted by commercial entities.Educational institutions and hospitals continue to receive priority, accounting for nearly half of the total commercial LPG allocation. Despite global uncertainties affecting supply, the government indicated that domestic availability remains under control while efforts continue to transition urban consumers towards PNG.

Dhurandhar 2 action director Aejaz Gulab has revealed that director Aditya Dhar pushed the team behind Dhurandhar: The Revenge, starring Ranveer Singh, to design extremely violent and intense action sequences. Aejaz said Aditya encouraged the crew to “be manly” and execute the stunts in the most brutal ways possible. Despite this, only around 60% of the originally planned violence made it into the final cut.
‘We had shot all the brutality in detail’
Speaking to Hindi Rush, Aejaz explained that the graphic content had to be toned down because younger audiences might eventually watch the film on OTT platforms. “We had shot all the brutality in detail, but what you see in the film is just 60%. Since we’re in the OTT era and kids may eventually watch it, we had to tone it down,” he said.
The action sequences were shaped under the guidance of director Aditya Dhar, who encouraged extreme creativity. “Aditya Dhar gave us full freedom. He said, ‘Aejaz bhai (brother), think as brutally as you can. Kill in the most intense ways you can imagine.’ And we did exactly that, while he added his directorial touch,” Aditya said. He added that Aditya wanted the stunts to feel “manly” raw and impactful, rather than just simple pushes or throws.
Action director details how the climax was improvised
Some of the film’s most striking moments were improvised on set, adding to the intensity. Aejaz recalled the scene in which Hamza uses debris to kill an aide of Major Iqbal inside a masjid, noting that many ideas were created spontaneously. He explained that Aditya wanted the action to feel authentic, visceral, and larger-than-life.
The climax, which runs for over 30 minutes, posed a major challenge for the crew. Aejaz said the masjid sequence alone required six days of rehearsal and 14 days of shooting. Maintaining continuity was extremely demanding, with every department, from hair and makeup to costume, working meticulously, taking reference photos after each shot to recreate the same look with precision.
Ranveer, Arjun pushed themselves to the limit with rubber chains
Aejaz revealed that lead actors Ranveer Singh and Arjun Rampal pushed themselves to the limit, particularly during a chain-fight scene in which they used rubber chains. Aejaz added that although rubber chains were used for safety, they still caused pain, and both actors were injured multiple times but refused to stop, even during rehearsals.
Aejaz summarised the process behind the action sequences, explaining that it involved a careful blend of dummy props, clever camerawork, and visual effects that together conveyed the intended brutality on screen.
