In the early hours of Monday, when most of India was celebrating a historic T20 World Cup win, one of the stars of the Indian team was hiding on the top berth of an AC 3-tier coach on the Ahmedabad–Mumbai Sayaji Express.
Shivam Dube, his wife Anjum and a friend were looking for ways to get back to Mumbai in the aftermath of the World Cup win. However, with all the flights booked, Dube decided to use the train to get back home to his children.
Speaking to the Indian Express, Dube said there were no flights available for him to leave from Ahmedabad, so he decided to go by train. “There were no flights available, so I decided to take a train early in the morning from Ahmedabad to Mumbai. We could have gone by road, but the train was faster.”Dube said.
The all-rounder admitted that he was scared of being recognised in public in a packed train, but used a disguise to go through the night. Dube covered himself with a mask, full-sleeved-tshirt and a cap before hiding away on the top berth of the train,
“Me, my wife and a friend decided to take the train. Third AC tickets were available, so we booked them. Everyone we spoke to was worried: family, friends. What if someone recognised me at the station or inside the train?” Dube added.
Even the ticket checker in the compartment was left puzzled to see Shivam Dube`s name in the ticket list and asked Dube`s wife if he was the cricketer, to which she quickly said no.
“‘Shivam Dube? Woh kaun hai, cricketer?’ the TC asked.
Anjum responded: “No, no. Woh kahan se aayega?” (Where would he come from?)
Dube managed to sleep through the night before the police came and helped him move from Borivali station to his home in broad daylight.

However, he had underestimated the technology that the home owners relied on to monitor their property from the US,” the police told News 18 Kannada after cracking the case.

Rapper-singer Badshah has found himself at the centre of controversy after the release of his latest track Tateeree, which has drawn criticism from several quarters for its allegedly explicit lyrics and visuals deemed inappropriate by many viewers. As the backlash continues to grow on social media, singer Sona Mohapatra did not hold back and took a sharp dig at the rapper, stating that he needs to do better and be more responsible with the content he puts out.

On Wednesday, Sona took to Instagram to share a strongly worded note criticising Badshah over his controversial song Tateeree. Calling him out, she stated that merely referring to oneself as a “son of Haryana” does not justify or correct the wrongdoing.
Sona shared the note with the caption, “& now young girls in uniforms as props … Stop with this brain & soul rot. Real men exist. The good. The honourable. The ones who show up & stand up, let’s make them the heroes ? Let’s make them the ones we desire ? #India deserves better”.
In her note, Sona wrote, “Not the first time we’ve seen this template. A man puffing up his chest, flexing masculinity, objectifying women, and projecting himself as some irresistible hero while women exist merely to drool around him. ‘Tu mujhpe marti hai, mujhpe jaan chidakti hai’ type of flights of rubbish swag … This isn’t creativity. It’s the laziest trope in pop culture.”
Slamming Badshah, Sona wrote, “And just calling yourself a “son of Haryana” with a sad face doesn’t cut it. Haryana already battles some of the country’s worst gender ratios, violence against women and honour killings. Cultural influence carries responsibility? Artists shape imagination. You can challenge misogyny or profit from it. BADSHAH & this lot, do better.”
She wrapped up her note, writing, “& those of you fashion victim wannabes paying for this shit.. grow a brain or a soul ?”
Badshah sparked controversy over the release of his new song, Tateeree. Earlier this month, the Haryana Police said it has registered an FIR and initiated the process to issue a lookout notice against the singer, over allegations that his song Tateeree features girls in school uniforms dancing in a Haryana Roadways bus and making objectionable gestures. The song was released on March 1, 2026, performed by rapper‑singer Badshah alongside vocalist Simran Jaglan.
Badshah apologises
Later, Badshah took to Instagram to issue an apology, saying he did not intend to hurt anyone’s sentiments. In the post, Badshah shared a video of himself addressing the controversy.
He began, “Mera gaana Tateeree release hua hain aur main dekh raha hoon ki uske ek hisse mein mere lyrics aur uske visual representation ke vajah se jo message gaya hain usse kayi logon ko, khaas kar mere Haryana ke apne logon ko, unke sentiments ko, thesh pohonchi hain. Sabse pehle main ye kehna chahta hoon ki main khud Haryana se hoon. Jo log mujhe jante hain, jante hain ki meri boli, khan-paan, rehen-sehen, meri pehchaan Haryana se hain. Bohot hi proud Haryanvi hoon (My new song has released and I am seeing that the lyrics and the visual representation has caused a lot of people, especially from Haryana, a lot of hurt. Firstly I want to say that I am from Haryana. Those who know me will vouch for the fact that my entire identity rests on it. I am a proud Haryanvi).”
Badshah added, “Mera kabhi bhi koi aisa iraada nahi tha, koi aisa uddeshya nahi tha ki main Haryana ke kisi bachche, kisi woman, kisi mahila ke baare mein aisi behuudi baat karoon. Distinctive Assets, a US-based firm, has curated these gift bags for the nominees in the top acting and directing categories at the Oscars for 24 years. Marketer Lash Fary assembles these ‘unofficial’ gift bags independently of the Academy. But over time, they have come to be associated with the awards, almost becoming a tradition.
In conversation with Reuters, Fary says his goal is simple: make nominees feel celebrated, while giving small and emerging brands a global spotlight. “This is something we do independently of the Academy with the intention of elevating small businesses, female-founded brands, and minority-owned companies, and also because losing sucks,” he explains.
What’s inside the ‘Everyone Wins’ gift bag for 2026 Oscars
The gift bag this year is a small suitcase. It contains a variety of products, ranging from a hydrating sipper to skin products and footwear. Companies whose products are included in the bag pay a fee to Distinctive Assets to be there.

Considering storage prices as they are in 2026, particularly what slower but more reliable hard drives (HDDs) now demand, you may have to part with a lot more than you would have twelve months ago. Right now, this 6TB drive will cost ₹31,818 and to be fair, this is a serious amount of storage space for that money. The future-proofing aspect is rather well ticked off, even if you are looking at this as a backup drive for your PC or a cloud drive alternative—though you must pay a premium for the game console support. For context, WD’s own 6TB My Passport Ultra portable drive (with no console compatibility) currently has a market price around ₹20,000.
For context, WD said last month that it’s already fully allocated its enterprise HDD capacity for the year, underpinned by AI and data center investments. Both demographics like HDDs, and hence the spike in demand. That is also the reason why you must pay a premium on the purchase price now.
With that, WD_Black is targeting a demographic that may have run out of space on their console drives, and now needs to transfer a few games to an external source. Consoles will not play games off this drive, but the idea is to shift some lesser played games from the console’s internal storage to this, or free up space there for a new title download or install updates — game sizes are mammoth these days.
The WD_Black P10 Game Drive keeps things simple with a 4800rpm 2.5-inch hard drive in a casing that has a distinct industrial design. There is a single activity LED light, which illuminates solid when the drive is connected to a device and powered on, and blinks when data transfer is in progress. For some strange reason, WD insists on using a Micro-B connector at one end (this plugs into the drive) and a USB-A connector at the other (this connects to the console or PC). This proprietary cable type can be difficult to replace in case you damage or misplace it. Secondly, WD should have at least bundled a cable with a USB-C connector at one end, for newer PCs and Macs.
Since this is an HDD, expecting SSD or solid-state storage-esque read and write speeds would be a fallacious start. In terms of the Blackmagic Disk Speed Test scores, the WD_Black P10 Game Drive peaked at write speeds of 583MB/s for a short duration, but averaged around 123MB/s. WD claims peak speeds of 130MB/s and it is good to see the brand position a realistic claim for potential buyers to consider. At this point, it is important to note that either console will probably work with slightly slower speeds than the benchmark tests on Mac (or even a Windows PC) will illustrate. Be ready for those variables, and those aren’t dependent on the drive.
It is important to point out that even though both competing consoles claim 1TB internal storage, modern games and software updates tend to fill that up rather quickly. Buy the WD_Black P10 Game Drive because it works well as an attached storage extension, without any hurdles. And since it is WD, reliability will never really be a question to ponder. Even after serious data transfer volumes, the WD_Black P10 Game Drive remains cool to the touch, which I believe is a positive for longevity. Speaking about priorities and trust inside the game, Ridhi also reflected on her equation with Prince Narula, “I don’t trust anyone easily in life. If I trust someone, I go all in. I knew in this show that without even speaking about it, Yuvika and I were each other’s priority. So I never really expected Prince to make me his priority. He had always told me that because I was Yuvika’s priority, I was his priority. So when he said I’m not his priority, I already knew it.”

India have been particularly dominant in the T20I format. Across the last two T20 World Cups and the Asia Cup, they have lost just one match, winning 23 of their last 24 games.
Yet even as the celebrations continue, attention will soon shift to the ODI format after IPL 2026, with the next 50-over World Cup scheduled for 2027 in South Africa. Beyond that, however, Indian cricket could be staring at a significant reset in the T20I format ahead of the packed 2028 calendar, which includes cricket’s Olympic return in July and a T20 World Cup in October-November.
So where do India go from here with their T20I planning?
Gambhir–Agarkar era: key decisions ahead
One of the most significant decisions shaping India’s next T20I cycle will concern the future of the selection committee.
Chief selector Ajit Agarkar has been central to several bold calls during his tenure, often backing tough selections even when they went against the grain of the selection panel, and at times the preferences of head coach Gautam Gambhir. Agarkar has overseen India’s white-ball resurgence since the 2023 ODI World Cup, but his extended tenure ends in June 2026 following last year’s extension after the 2024 T20 World Cup.
The BCCI will therefore have to identify a successor who aligns with Gambhir’s philosophy and the current direction of the Indian set-up.
Gambhir’s own future could also come into focus soon. His contract runs until the end of the 2027 ODI World Cup. While the coach has openly expressed his desire to guide India to Olympic gold in 2028, the proximity of the next T20 World Cup, just months after the Games, may compel the BCCI to consider extending his tenure.
Ultimately, much will depend on how the board structures its long-term planning.
Suryakumar: captaincy and longevity
India’s current T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav made it clear after the final that he has no immediate plans to step away from the format. The 35-year-old said both the 2028 Olympics and the next T20 World Cup remain firmly on his radar.
However, Indian cricket’s recent selection philosophy suggests longevity cannot be taken for granted.
After the heartbreak of the 2023 ODI World Cup, both Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli had spoken about targeting the 2027 ODI World Cup. Yet the management prioritised team balance and future planning – Shubman Gill was named the new captain, while the two senior batters were asked to prove their commitment.
Suryakumar could face a similar reality. By the time the next T20 World Cup arrives, he will be 37, and if his batting returns dip, even his place in the squad may come under scrutiny.
Who could be the next captain?
India had already explored a succession plan last year with Gill being groomed for leadership. However, his inconsistent T20I form forced the management to reconsider that pathway.
Recent World Cup hero Sanju Samson has generated fresh buzz around the captaincy debate after his dramatic impact in the latter half of the tournament. Yet the BCCI is unlikely to rush into handing him the role.
Another candidate remains Hardik Pandya, who was widely regarded as Rohit’s successor in the format and has already led an IPL franchise to a title.
The selectors could also produce a surprise option. Shreyas Iyer, who has led three IPL franchises to finals, including one title, may emerge as a contender if he produces another strong IPL season.
An outside candidate is Tilak Varma, who has quietly built leadership credentials through India A assignments and the Emerging Teams Asia Cup.

On 9th March, Ryan Gosling, Sandra Huller, and the acclaimed filmmaking duo Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, along with the film’s stellar team, walked the red carpet at the world premiere event to celebrate the much-anticipated sci-fi spectacle Project Hail Mary.

The premiere of Project Hail Mary in Leicester Square, London, was a star-studded affair. The atmosphere around was filled with excitement as people were crowding the barricades and taking pictures of the cast, including the director and writer, as they all celebrated this momentous occasion.
Ryan Gosling made his entrance on the red carpet in a `70s-inspired look. He cut a striking and stylish figure in a black and maroon AMIRI pinstripe suit. He wore an open-collared maroon shirt with white stripes underneath. He accessorised the look with patent black loafers, a black belt and a watch.
Meanwhile, his co-star Sandra Huller turned heads in a gorgeous, voluminous emerald green gown that was cinched at the waist. She acessorised her look with diamond earrings, a diamond ring and a beaming smile.
Also present at the premiere were producer duo Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, who helmed the project. They appeared relaxed and cheerful, soaking in the moment as they introduced a film that had been building anticipation for months.
Amy Pascal, James Ortiz, Priya Kansara and Aditya Sood were also present. Priya Kansara turned up the heat in a figure-hugging silken emerald gown with a bejewelled neckline, paired with loose waves.
